He was like a beam of light from heaven, reaching out to her and ge...

Chapter 38 An Unprecedented Rebellion

I only found out it was my turn to do chores when school ended on Friday.

Cao Moru was in the same group as her. She had always disliked Fang Zhi, and when she reported Fang Zhi's early romance to the homeroom teacher but there was no follow-up, she became even more unhappy and delayed cleaning the classroom and refused to cooperate.

The classroom cleaning was finished, and there were only a few students left on campus. Liu Siyi had left early because she had something to do, so Fang Zhi left the school gate alone.

At first glance, the Bentley is parked quietly by the roadside, its lines sleek and luxurious, its demeanor as elegant as its owner.

As soon as I stopped walking, I realized that Uncle Zhang had asked for leave again...

She lowered her head, staring at her toes as she walked forward, her fair and clear face revealing no emotion, slowly making her way to the car.

Upon catching a glimpse of the girl, Qi Shen pushed open the door and got out of the car.

He was unusually not wearing formal attire today; his white shirt and black trousers were simple yet sophisticated, his skin was dazzlingly white, and his limited-edition watch gleamed in the sunset. He was tall and slender, and his temperament was even more gentle and refined.

Fang Zhi slowly walked up to him.

Qi Shen lowered his eyes and raised his hand to stroke the girl's head. "Why are you out so late today?"

The man was very tall; I only reached his collarbone and had to look up to see him.

Her gentle and refined eyes were dark and deep, like a pebble thrown into a calm lake, creating ripples.

Upon closer inspection, there was nothing there.

Despite his calm expression, Fang Zhi felt a sudden tremor in his heart, as if something major had happened.

"I'm on duty in class." After answering Qi Shen's question, she quickly changed the subject, her voice softening, "Brother, has Uncle Zhang encountered any problems lately?"

"Isn't it good that your brother came to pick you up?" Qi Shen stared at her somewhat uneasy face, smiled gently, and said in a tone that was both ordinary and intriguing, "Or is it that Zhizhi did something she shouldn't have done at school or met someone she shouldn't have met, and you're afraid your brother will see it?"

Upon hearing Qi Shen say this, Fang Zhi felt for a moment that Qi Shen knew everything about his actions, even at school.

The difference between admitting and denying is just a matter of a single thought, and at this moment, I realized that a rebellious mentality I had never had before had sprouted.

She licked her lips, her gaze drifting unconsciously elsewhere, and whispered, "How could that be?"

"Brother, I was just joking. Don't be nervous." Qi Shen's lips curved into a wider smile, but the smile didn't reach his eyes. "Get in the car."

He had already reminded her to this extent, but the girl still wouldn't tell the truth, which really made him feel defeated and disappointed.

Fang Zhi gave a soft "hmm" without looking up at him, missing the chilling coldness in the man's eyes.

Cao Moru came out even later than Fang Zhi, and just as she came out, she saw a man opening the car door for Fang Zhi.

After the girl got into the car, Qi Shen closed the door and turned around. He slightly raised his eyelids and saw Cao Moru not far away.

Their eyes met.

Qi Shen did not conceal the dark and cold look in his eyes. He glanced at her expressionlessly and then looked away.

Cao Moru stood frozen in place.

In early summer, the weather was warm and pleasant, but just one glance at this exceptionally handsome man made her feel a chill creep from the soles of her feet to the top of her head.

It's like a wild beast lurking in the shadows, ready to leap out and tear people apart at any moment.

This terrifying person looks quite young. Could he be the older brother Fang Zhi was talking about?

But she had overheard Fang Zhi telling Liu Siyi that her brother was a very gentle person.

Qi Shen got into the car and his expression returned to normal.

The scenery outside the car window rushed past, and Fang Zhi glanced anxiously at the man's profile. Usually, he would take the initiative to ask her about her life and studies.

But not today; the air inside the carriage was deathly still.

Fang Zhi couldn't figure out whether Qi Shen really knew about Jiang Yuze's recent constant presence around her.

She didn't dare to bring it up again, and only asked in a very soft voice, "Brother, are you going back to your place to stay today?"

Qi Shen stared straight ahead and said, "Hmm."

"I miss Wang Ma a little. Can we go back to live there?"

Qi Shen said casually, "Zhizhi, you need to get used to living in Nangong. Home is where your brother is. We'll live there after you graduate from high school."

His Zhizhi was already shy and well-behaved, and after that initial encounter was exposed, he became even more hesitant and reserved.

If she doesn't have much contact and gets used to things, she'll probably be able to maintain her distance from her brother out of respect.

Fang Zhi bit her lip and remained silent, turning her head to look out the window.

In the past, her brother would have consulted her opinion, even if the final result had to be according to his wishes.

But after he revealed his feelings, everything began to change, and he no longer concealed his autocratic and tyrannical nature.

......

The Jiang family.

Jiang Yuze took the slippers from the nanny, changed his shoes, and prepared to go upstairs. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the elegant and dignified woman in the living room and stopped. "Oh, Mom, you're off work so early today."

Jiang's mother lowered her eyes and did not answer. She picked up the exquisitely crafted small cup and took a sip of tea.

"Who upset her again? She came back and gave me the cold shoulder." The boy muttered to himself as he walked up the stairs.

"Stop." Jiang's mother slightly raised her eyelids, her eyes flashing with a sharpness. Her voice wasn't loud, but it was undeniable. "Aren't you going to tell me what trouble you've gotten into at school lately?"

"What trouble could I possibly cause?" Jiang Yu obediently stopped, turned around and stared at his mother, who was irritably picking at her hair, her tone sullen. "Your son has been as well-behaved as your grandson lately."

Jiang's mother frowned and glared at him, "What son and grandson? What nonsense are you talking about? Come here right now."

"Mom, I'm telling the truth." Jiang Yu took a long stride and walked up to his mother. His unruly handsome face was quite helpless. "Not only do I not skip classes, but I also know how to study hard. If you don't believe me, you can ask Zhou Yiming."

Jiang's mother showed a hint of surprise that was barely perceptible. She knew her son's temperament all too well.
