Fang Zhi met a handsome young man with an outstanding appearance and a gentle, noble demeanor at her most desperate moment.
He was like a beam of light from heaven, reaching out to her and ge...
After finishing all her afternoon classes, Qi Shen had already arranged for a driver to pick her up and take her home.
During evening self-study, Fang Zhi's seat was empty.
Some classmates, out of curiosity, specifically sought out Liu Siyi, who was closest to Fang Zhi, to ask about the situation, but Liu Siyi remained silent.
The official reply stated, "Fang Zhi's family enrolled him in an advanced class to prepare for the college entrance examination, where he has to study until midnight."
Upon hearing this, the classmate sighed, "The pressure of reviewing is already so great, and I didn't even know my family was arranging classes for me."
Because of Liu Siyi's words, the already highly competitive class became even more competitive.
Fang Zhi, who had just finished dinner at home, returned to his bedroom and was doing practice problems.
The bedroom door was half-open, and light shone through the crack, casting a silhouette on the floor. Ever since Wang Ma was brought to the Nangong Villa after learning of her illness, she had stayed there.
She stood in front of the door and knocked.
Fang Zhi turned away from the exercise book and asked, "Wang Ma, come in. Is there anything I can help you with?"
"Miss Zhizhi." Wang Ma approached with a glass of milk. "Young Master just told me that you've been studying hard and asked me to warm up a glass of milk for you."
"Put it on the table first."
"OK."
After putting her things down, Wang Ma prepared to leave.
"Wang Ma, wait a moment." Fang Zhi called out to her tentatively, "Did my brother say when he'll be back?"
She wanted to avoid contact with her brother by turning off the lights and pretending to be asleep before he returned.
Wang Ma looked troubled. "The young master didn't say anything."
"Hmm." Fang Zhi's eyelashes trembled slightly. She had asked Wang Ma with a glimmer of hope, unaware that it was actually expected. "It's alright, you can go and rest now."
Upon witnessing Qi Shen kissing the girl, Wang Ma was at a loss for how to face this well-behaved girl.
But she had watched him grow up, and she treated Fang Zhi like her own granddaughter. When she saw the hint of worry in Fang Zhi's eyes when she mentioned the young master, she could probably guess what was going on.
Ultimately, she was just a servant in the Qi family; she didn't have the ability to make any changes.
All I could do was say earnestly, "Miss Zhizhi, the most important thing right now is the college entrance exam. Don't think too much about other things. Maybe things will get better soon."
Fang Zhi knew all of Wang Ma's well-intentioned advice, and she moved her lips slightly, softly humming in agreement.
"Thank you, Aunt Wang."
"Silly child, don't be so polite." Wang Ma looked at her with affection. "I won't stay here and disturb your studies."
After Wang Ma left, her chaotic thoughts gradually calmed down. Wang Ma was right, and she understood. She had just been caught off guard by her brother's series of actions recently.
Her brother was her salvation.
Deep down, she was actually quite dependent on Qi Shen, but she couldn't accept a relationship that wasn't just that of siblings.
Fang Zhi looked at the textbook in front of him, and a thought gradually solidified in his mind.
......
As night deepened, it quietly arrived at ten o'clock.
After checking all the questions, Fang Zhi closed the workbook, rubbed his tired eyes, and glanced at the cold milk on the table.
—She forgot to drink it.
She was torn about whether to drink it or not. Her period wasn't over yet, so she couldn't drink anything cold. By then, Wang Ma had already fallen asleep.
After thinking for a while, she picked up the cup and went downstairs to reheat it in the kitchen.
The black car slowly drove into the villa, and only then did I realize that it was too late to turn around and go upstairs after hearing the noise coming from the yard.
She could only stand there, dumbfounded.
Qi Shen pushed open the door and saw a girl with her bright, black hair cascading down her back, holding a glass of milk in her soft, boneless hands, standing at the top of the stairs.
He walked over in a few steps, looked down at her, and his voice, husky from smoking and drinking, was low and hoarse. "Still not resting?"
Fang Zhi explained softly, "I need to rest, but my brother forgot to drink the milk that Wang Ma gave me, so I came down to heat it up."
"Give it to me." Qi Shen smiled and held out his hand. "Go heat it up, you go back to your room and wait."
She was afraid of being alone with him. Fang Zhi was resisting Qi Shen's suggestion, but she didn't dare to show it too obviously.
The two of them were no more than ten centimeters apart, and the man's refreshing fragrance mixed with alcohol wafted into her nose.
Fang Zhi deliberately chose her words to express her concern tactfully: "Brother, you've been drinking. I'll do it myself."
"Brother is fine." Qi Shen smiled, his eyes behind his gold-rimmed glasses seeming to hold a deeper meaning. "If Zhizhi cares about her brother and feels it's too much trouble for him, she can just massage his head after he heats up the milk."
He always found a way to shut her down with a single sentence.
The man slowly took off his suit jacket, his voice gentle, "Zhizhi, help your brother take this jacket upstairs."
Fang Zhi silently took the suit, turned around and went upstairs.
In the kitchen, the man's exquisite and expensive buttons on his sleeves were undone, and his sleeves were half-rolled up.
After being forced to drink several glasses of strong liquor by Fu Shaosi, the effects of the alcohol were starting to take hold and my head was starting to feel swollen.
He leaned against the central island platform, his handsome and refined face paired with his nonchalant posture making him look even more like a suave scoundrel.
He pressed his temples and waited for the milk to heat up. Only after it cooled down a bit did he pick up the cup and go upstairs.
Knowing he was coming in, she realized the door was open.
Qi Shen pushed the door open casually, and the girl sat on the edge of the bed, her suit neatly folded and placed on the bed.
He strolled over and sat down beside her with a leisurely pace.
"Here you go, Zhizhi."
"Thank you, brother." Fang Zhi reached out to take it.
Qi Shen didn't hand it to her immediately, but instead smiled and said, "Zhizhi, have you forgotten that you don't need to thank your brother?"
Fang Zhixin hesitated for a moment, "No... I haven't forgotten."
"Okay, then don't say thank you to your brother next time."
