Someone asked Luo Jiujiang, "Your Dao companion's bloodline is so mysterious it's unspeakable, your master is also the fated one of a spirit snake, and any random friend is either a des...
Luo Jiujiang walked in the snow for a whole day before he saw any human traces.
Admittedly, he did not run at full speed in order to conserve his spiritual energy so as not to be unable to cope with emergencies, but even so, this snowfield was truly astonishingly vast.
Even though he tore off the slightly thicker hem and wrapped it around his left foot to serve as a boot sole, and constantly circulated spiritual energy throughout his body to keep warm, Luo Jiujiang still felt the cold air constantly pouring in from the sole of his left foot, and now he was almost frozen to death.
This world is really too cold. Luo Jiujiang had never imagined that there could be such a bone-chilling place in the world.
Among all the bad news, the only good news was probably that he had advanced to the ninth level of Qi Refining, and his spiritual energy was more abundant than before, which was somewhat comforting.
As far as his sight reached, he finally saw a color that was a little different from the vast white snow. Luo Jiujiang let out a long breath and moved his right hand, which was tightly gripping the hilt of the knife, slightly, but the joints were still stiff and cold and uncomfortable.
The snowstorm here was as fierce as anything Luo Jiujiang had ever witnessed. Sometimes, a single moment would obscure the deep footprints he had just left, so the speck of red in the distance was a welcome surprise. Luo Jiujiang's eyes lit up, and he involuntarily quickened his pace.
However, just as he approached within three feet of the scattered objects on the snow, he froze involuntarily.
He had been too far away to make out clearly just now, but this thing was not some small red object scattered by someone as he had expected. In fact, it was a person himself.
This is a pile of white bones.
The few spots of color he saw in the distance were the flesh and blood that had not been eaten clean off the bones and splashed on the snow.
The blood was still fresh, clearly indicating the man had died not long ago. Luo Jiujiang, on guard, carefully confirmed there were no ambushes nearby before approaching the bones and roughly inspecting the situation.
It was unknown what deep hatred the skeleton owner had with the attacker, but his limbs were gone, leaving only his torso and head. Even these remaining parts were torn to pieces, bloodstained bones scattered across the ground.
The footprints around him were so faint that they were difficult to discern. Even the few footprints Luo Jiujiang had just left were covered by a thick layer of snow. Luo Jiujiang had arrived at the perfect time; if he had been a step slower, even these bones would have been buried by the wind and snow.
Luo Jiujiang used the tip of his knife to poke at the bones twice. Just as he was sighing and planning to dig a snow pit to bury the remains in the snow, he suddenly froze.
The next moment, he suddenly tore off one of the few pieces of clothing he had to wrap his hands, and picked up a piece of bone and looked at it closely in disbelief.
There was a shallow tooth mark left on this bone!
It was a small, but clearly oval tooth mark. The owner of the tooth mark seemed to have blunt, flat teeth, unlike those of a carnivorous beast with sharp teeth.
For some reason, the tiny bite mark made Luo Jiujiang's arm tremble. In the blink of an eye, he made a decision. Without hesitation, he rolled up his right sleeve and bit his arm.
The tooth marks he left on his arm and the tooth marks on this bone are very similar in general, although the details are different.
This is a tooth mark belonging to a human.
And on the next few bones, Luo Jiujiang found the same traces.
He hastily buried the nameless brother, and when he stood up he felt dizzy: an extremely vicious and cruel thing was laid out before his eyes - the flesh and blood on this skeleton was probably bitten off and eaten by someone!
How vicious a heart or how extreme the environment would have to be to commit such a crime?
Luo Jiujiang held the knife in his hand and looked around vigilantly. He wondered if there were also weak breaths and sinister eyes hidden under the snowy hills near him, waiting for him to show any signs of fatigue so as to pounce on him, drink his blood, and chew his flesh.
After cautiously walking forward for a while, Luo Jiujiang thought about the corpse again. There were marks of machete cutting and scraping on the man's spine and sternum. He hadn't understood it before, but after walking this distance, he finally understood it.
Someone had cut off his flesh here.
Thinking of the missing limbs...
Luo Jiujiang shuddered! Limbs were indeed easier to carry than a torso. It wasn't that the man's limbs were missing; someone had chopped off his limbs and taken them away along with the skin and flesh!
Luo Jiujiang's face turned pale and he felt like vomiting.
What kind of world is this? People actually treat their own kind as food to be eaten alive? Luo Jiujiang thought, gritting his teeth. He tried his best to swallow the acid rising in his throat, not letting himself show any signs of weakness or fatigue.
At the same time, the emotions that repeatedly surged in his heart were not only disgust, but also a strong murderous intent.
So far, his blade had never claimed a life, but if the culprit behind the skeleton appeared before him, he would certainly take that person's life.
If you really have the ability, why not try to treat Luo as your prey! Luo Jiujiang was determined, holding the knife in his hand, without even sheathing it, and striding forward at a rapid pace.
The vast snowfield is endless, like the most vast cemetery between heaven and earth, burying all strange colors and cooling all human emotions.
Luo Jiujiang set out on the road filled with shock and anger. For two whole hours, he could only hear the monotonous sound of the wind whistling across the snow, and see an endless expanse of snow.
The scenery he saw a day ago was no different from what he saw a day later.
