Upon hearing Shen Tinghe's words, Sheng Rushuang paused in her tea-pouring motion, then smiled faintly.

"It's not a place you can just leave whenever you want."

Lin Qingtong keenly sensed that something was amiss and quickly spoke up to ease the tension.

"Auntie, the food here is delicious, you can order some more."

After she finished speaking, her gaze couldn't help but sweep over Shen Tinghe.

Sheng Rushuang handed the teacup to Lin Qingtong, "This is enough."

"Today is our first meeting. Originally, we were supposed to meet at the old house and I would introduce you to everyone, but due to unforeseen circumstances, we can only formally get to know each other here."

After saying this, she took a gift box out of her bag and handed it to Lin Qingtong, smiling gently as she made the suggestion.

"Take a look."

Lin Qingtong took the gift box, opened it, and was surprised to find a set of imperial purple jade jewelry, including a necklace, a bracelet, and jade earrings.

The whole set is exquisite and lustrous; you can tell it's expensive just by looking at it.

Seeing this, Lin Qingtong immediately pushed the gift box back and said apologetically.

"Auntie, this is too expensive."

Sheng Rushuang curled the corners of her lips and pushed the gift back.

"How could it be valuable? This is my heartfelt gift. I am truly grateful that you are with my rascal."

Shen Tinghe snorted beside him, but didn't say anything more.

Lin Qingtong looked at Shen Tinghe with a questioning gaze, as if to say whether she should accept it.

Shen Tinghe said casually, "Just accept it. She has plenty of money."

Sheng Rushuang smiled and said, "I may be rich, but I don't give money away for no reason. Why didn't you accept the gift I gave you last time?"

Seeing that the two were about to start arguing again, Lin Qingtong immediately accepted the gift box and spoke up.

"Then I'll accept the gift from you, Auntie. Thank you, Auntie."

"Hello, Aunt Sheng."

When Sheng Rushuang saw the graceful Shen Man standing before her, she suddenly revealed a look of surprise and delight.

"You must be Shen Man? It's been so many years, you've grown so much."

Shen Man smiled slightly and handed the breakfast in her hand to Sheng Rushuang.

"Auntie, this is the food I specially saved for you. Don't tell anyone. Your second uncle and the others finished eating a long time ago and had the servants clean up."

Feeling Shen Man's kindness, Sheng Rushuang smiled and spoke.

"Thank you very much, but it's okay even if you don't have any. It's not like I'm short of money. I can just eat out."

Shen Man's expression changed slightly, but she quickly concealed it.

"Oh, I see. Auntie, I was being presumptuous. I don't usually have money to eat out, so I didn't think of that."
