Children Are Ungrateful? The Mistress Returns and Disowns All Relatives

Qu Jingyun merely fell off a cliff but unexpectedly transmigrated five years into the future.

After five years apart, her three children had all been taught to be ignorant of good and bad.

Chapter 45 Not Leaving

Qu Jingyun smiled knowingly again.

She sat there, crossing her legs without any manners.

Seeing this, the old man was so angry that he trembled all over.

In the end, I couldn't resist and patted Qu Jingyun's knee.

"Sit properly! Look at yourself, what kind of posture do you have?"

Qu Jingyun shrugged helplessly. "There's nothing I can do. I've endured five years of hardship. At first, I couldn't move at all. Later, when I finally could move again, I had to endure a hundred times more pain just to stand up. You think it's okay for me to shake my leg occasionally?"

Hearing his daughter recount her experiences so casually, as if she were talking about someone else's affairs, the old man felt a pang of sadness.

The old man's face immediately darkened.

Seeing that the old man was about to side with Qu Jingyun, Qi Yun'er burst into tears.

"Sister, I know you blame me because Song'er and Cong'er aren't close to you, but you can't hurt these two children like this. What will happen to Song'er if she really loses her career?"

The old man's face darkened again when his two grandsons were mentioned.

The old man slammed his hand on the table and said sternly, "Go to the Emperor right now and tell him that Song'er has realized his mistake and that he should go and redeem himself through meritorious service."

"I'm afraid that won't work," Qu Jingyun refused outright.

"What did you say?"

The old man's eyes widened.

Seeing that Qu Jingyun's expression remained unchanged, the old man said again, "Qu Jingyun, don't forget that I am your father. You don't even listen to your father anymore, do you?"

Seeing how nervous he was, Qu Jingyun helplessly pinched the bridge of her nose.

The old man let out another cold snort.

He sat down next to Qu Jingyun, glaring at her angrily.

He wanted to see what this wretched child could say.

Qu Jingyun sighed again.

“Father, I know you mean well for the two children, but you can’t just assume I’m wrong based on a few words from Qi Yun’er.”

"Why are you mentioning Yun'er?" The old man glared at her, then looked at Qi Yun'er with heartache. "If it weren't for Yun'er writing letters to comfort this lonely old man from time to time these past five years, I'm afraid I would be..."

Recalling those five years that felt like an eternity, the old man couldn't help but tear up.

When he spoke again, the old man's voice became somewhat choked with emotion.

“Yun’er is the one who holds up our family. If you dare to disrespect Yun’er, then you don’t respect us family members.”

"It's alright," Qi Yun'er said.

She looked at Qu Jingyun with a smile, her eyes revealing an invisible provocation.

So what if Qu Jingyun is the general's wife?

Whether it's her husband's family or her own family, they are both willing to listen to her.

Seeing her so smug, Qu Jingyun lowered her eyes and fell into deep thought.

Qi Yun'er spoke up again: "Sister, Song'er isn't very satisfied with her current position. Why don't you help Song'er make some moves?"

"oh?"

Qu Jingyun pretended to be interested as she looked at Qi Yun'er.

He then asked, "I have no way to influence His Majesty's decision, do you have a way?"

Qi Yun'er's smile froze instantly.

If she had a way to see the Emperor, would she still be fighting in such a small place as the General's Mansion?

Seeing that she had stopped talking, Qu Jingyun looked at the old man again.

"I won't help Shen Song with this. If I were to help Shen Song get an official title now, wouldn't that be like inviting a wolf into the house?"

These words sent a chill down Qi Yun'er's spine.

Then Qi Yun'er laughed again, "Sister, what nonsense are you talking about? How is it letting a wolf into the house?"

Qi Yun'er became increasingly nervous, and looked at Qu Jingyun with growing vigilance.

Could it be that Qu Jingyun actually found out something?

Qi Yun'er quickly regained her composure and asked, "Sister, do you know something?"

She shrugged gently. "What could I know? I know nothing."

After speaking, Qu Jingyun looked at the old man again.

"It's not your time to return to the capital now. What are you doing back? Do you want to end up like the General?"

The old man was so angry that he blew his beard and glared.

"I'm your father, how dare you talk to your father like that?"

Qu Jingyun spread her hands: "If it weren't for the fact that you're my father, do you think you have the right to talk to me here?"

After saying that, Qu Jingyun stretched again.

She propped her head up with her hand on the table, watching Qi Yun'er with great interest.

Meeting her scrutinizing gaze, Qi Yun'er lowered her head in fear again.

Qu Jingyun also coldly withdrew her gaze.

"Don't linger here. Go back as soon as you're done with your report, and don't cause any more trouble."

The old man's eyes flickered slightly, as if he was moved by Qu Jingyun's words.

Qi Yun'er quickly grabbed the old man's arm.

"Uncle, don't be scared by your cousin. She just wants you to go back quickly and stop worrying about the General's Mansion."

The old man's eyes instantly turned sharp.

He pointed at Qu Jingyun in disappointment, followed by another sigh.

The old man shook his head. "What are you thinking? Are you trying to drive me crazy?"

Seeing that he was about to blame everything on her again, Qu Jingyun just gave a cold laugh.

Then Qu Jingyun looked at Qi Yun'er again.

She tilted her head and gave Qi Yun'er a cryptic smile.

Qi Yun'er's heart jumped into her throat again.

She laughed awkwardly and said, "Why are you looking at me like that, sister?"

"You're so pretty, I can't help but look at you a few more times," Qu Jingyun said with a smile.

Then she reminded the old man, "The reason His Majesty didn't pursue the matter is because the general just died. If he were to hold you accountable now, it would probably discourage the ministers. But Father, if you really care about your three grandsons, you'd better go back now and pretend you never saw me today. As for your two grandsons, don't go see them either."
