End-of-Month Summary

2023 is over, 2024 is here.

The novel has been available for three months. This month, it was featured in a bestseller selection and successfully received a premium badge. The average daily subscription is now close to 4,000, around 3,900.

So far, the novel's performance has completely exceeded my expectations, and I never imagined it would be so profitable.

I'm not a full-time writer; actually, I just feel an urge to write.

My first book was a cultivation novel, and I got a contract, but nobody read it, and I couldn't keep writing it. It only got single-digit subscriptions, so... it ended badly.

My second book was a story about the entertainment industry, but I had a female protagonist and didn't know how to write a romance story, so I ended up writing a career-oriented story. Surprisingly, it gained a lot of popularity, and I wrote over three million words in one go. It will be finished next month, and I have gained a lot of experience.

The third book was purely intended to be a suspense story, but it turned out to be a mess and a hodgepodge. However, it was definitely an improvement over the first book. Although it had all sorts of unexpected twists and turns, at least it managed to weave a web and bring the story to a conclusion.

The fourth book, which is this one, was really a disaster. I changed my pseudonym to write it, wrote 100,000 words and applied for a contract, but it wasn't approved. Helpless, I deleted the book and switched to this big account to publish it. I originally thought that I had finally written 100,000 words, so I shouldn't waste them. Maybe with the help of my old readers, I could achieve different results.

Well, it really did achieve results... I want to thank the editor for recognizing my talent and sending me a contract offer early on (so, an experienced author who has written books does have an advantage). Then, I went to the competition, failed the first round, and felt disheartened. But I was revived, and after the second round, my chances of advancing were slim, so I just chose to publish it.

After it was released, wow, over 370 first-day subscriptions! I was ecstatic! You probably can't understand how happy a nobody author like me is with this number.

What I didn't expect was that the number of favorites and average subscriptions kept increasing. Moreover, it was featured in the editor's picks in early November and then in the bestseller selections this month, reaching the 4,000 average subscription mark in one go.

Besides diligently writing the story, I don't know what else to do.

So, as a non-full-time author, while revising the ending of "I Became the Scandalous Woman Overnight" (the content is finished, but some revisions are needed), and writing this book, maintaining daily updates, is it tiring? To be honest, I didn't feel too tired; on the contrary, I was very excited.

The driving force is simply that some people like it!

The end of this year gave me a pleasant surprise, and I hope that in 2024, you will also receive your own surprises, just like the ones you gave me!
