Lin Cuicui and her family exchanged glances. The voice sounded like a child's, but since they arrived, Da Bei and the others hadn't played with any of the other children in the residential compound. Who could it be?

Tang Yue felt the voice was somewhat familiar. The person was already at her doorstep, so there was no need to waste her energy.

Tang Yue stood up and followed Lin Cuicui out the door.

Tang Bei and the others followed curiously out. Tang Yue was a little surprised when she saw who was standing at the door. She said she had heard that voice before, but she didn't expect it to be her.

Xu Zhenfei was clearly happy to see Tang Yue. "Hello, little Yueyue, do you remember me?"

Tang Yue nodded, "Xu Zhenfei."

Xu Zhenfei was clearly delighted to hear Tang Yue call his name. "Little Yueyue, you're amazing! You still remember me after all this time. I'm so happy."

Lin Cuicui and Tang Bei looked completely bewildered. They'd never seen this person before. Where did Yueyue get to know him? They didn't seem to have been separated, right?

Tang Yue didn't let them continue to be suspicious, and casually explained, "Last time, I was abducted by human traffickers at the train station, and Xu Zhenfei was also abducted that time. We met in that house."

Hearing this, everyone understood. Lin Cuicui looked at Xu Zhenfei with sympathy and pity in her eyes.

Xu Zhenfei blushed. "Um, may I come inside?"

Lin Cuicui quickly waved to him, "Quick, come here."

Xu Zhenfei was warmly invited into the house by Tang Bei and the others. When he saw the dinner on the table, Xu Zhenfei felt a little embarrassed.

He had just left home today when he vaguely saw people arguing at the entrance of the residential compound.

He had just taken a few steps closer when he spotted a familiar small figure. Before he could excitedly chase after them, the people had already vanished.

After making inquiries, he learned that Tang Yue's family had also moved into the military dependents' compound. He was overjoyed and spent the whole afternoon waiting for Tang Yue to come home.

But Tang Yue didn't come home when it was time for dinner. In the end, Xu Zhenfei was dragged home by his mother for dinner.

Just after finishing his meal, Xu Zhenfei waited anxiously for his mother to finish the housework before running out of the house.

"Sorry, I didn't know you were having dinner. Maybe I'll come back later."

Lin Cuicui smiled; this child is quite sensible.

"It's alright. Have you had dinner yet? Why don't you come and eat with us?"

Xu Zhenfei quickly waved his hand, "No need, no need, Auntie. I've already eaten at home."

He then found a stool and sat down awkwardly, because Tang Yue's gaze seemed a little unfriendly.

The family continued eating, but the atmosphere at the table wasn't as lively as before. With an outsider present, everyone's attention was focused on Xu Zhenfei, and they ate faster.

After the meal, Lin Cuicui and Old Li packed up their things, while the children sat with Xu Zhenfei.

Tang Dong was the first to ask, "How did you know we were here?"

Seeing that the others were also staring at him, Xu Zhenfei quickly explained, "Our family moved here a while ago. The day I arrived at the military base, I noticed that the person sitting in the car that went out seemed to be Xiao Yueyue."

I wanted to shout, but the two cars were going in different directions, and before I could make a sound, Yueyue was already far away.

I've been looking for Xiaoyueyue in the neighborhood lately, but I haven't been able to find her.

When I went out today, I saw a fight going on at the entrance of the residential compound, so I thought I'd hurry over and see what was going on. But when I got there, I couldn't even see Yueyue's back anymore.

Later, I asked around among my aunts and found out that your family had also moved into the residential compound.

I waited all afternoon, and my mom didn't call me home until dinner time.

After hearing Xu Zhenfei's thought process, Tang Yue felt a little strange. "Why did you come to me?"

Xu Zhenfei scratched his head sheepishly, "After we parted ways last time, I was picked up by my family and taken back home. I didn't know how you guys were doing after that, and I was worried about you for a while."

And I haven't even thanked you for saving me yet. My parents, grandparents, and everyone else said we absolutely must thank you properly.

Tang Yue waved her hand, "No need, it's nothing. Besides, I was saving myself at the time, and you helped too. We don't owe each other anything, so there's no need to thank me."

"How can that be? If it weren't for you, we probably wouldn't have made it to the rescue and would have been sold off to other places by them."

Tang Yue thought about it carefully and realized it was indeed a possibility. However, someone was still searching for that little brat, and sooner or later they would all be rescued. Tang Yue felt there was no need for her to take credit.

"Is your father a soldier?"

"Yes, that's right. My dad is the newly transferred battalion commander."

Tang Yue didn't ask Xu Zhenfei who his father was; she generally didn't care too much about things she felt weren't important.

"You really don't need to worry too much about it. But since we'll all be living together from now on, we can hang out together when we're free."

Xu Zhenfei was already very happy to hear this. "I heard you were moving furniture in today, so I didn't let my parents come over. They will come to thank you in person after you've settled in in a couple of days."

As he spoke, Xu Zhenfei looked at Tang Yue, as if trying to find a sense of agreement in her face.

Tang Yue didn't want to accept this gratitude, but seeing Xu Zhenfei's cautious manner, she felt it wasn't necessary. Since they were coming, that was fine; she could just prepare a return gift for them later.
