Ancient cultivator Tang Jin was caught in a battle between cultivators and exotic beasts over a spiritual treasure and was accidentally transmigrated to another world.
He found himself to be ...
It would have been better if the captain hadn't mentioned it. As soon as the captain opened his mouth, Lin Cuicui froze for a moment. She had forgotten about the third brother.
Ignoring everything else, she turned around and looked anxiously at the team leader, "Uncle Xu, Lao San, Lao San is still lying on the floor at home."
"Huh? What's going on?"
Lin Cuicui was also very anxious. "I had just finished feeding Lao San this morning when Tang Shengjun barged in and tried to take Yueyue out and bury her. Lao San and I rushed up to stop him, but Tang Shengjun dragged Lao San to the ground and knocked me unconscious."
As soon as I woke up, I went straight out to find Yue'er. The third brother should still be lying on the floor.
The captain slapped his thigh. "What a disaster! Quick, go check on Lao San's house."
Several villagers behind him quickly ran down the mountain. At this moment, a woman wearing a worn red cotton-padded jacket hurriedly ran up the hill. Before she could even see the situation in front of her, she yelled, "Don't bury that little devil on my land!"
The villagers glanced at the woman who had shouted, puzzled, then ran down the mountain. Lin Cuicui ignored them and carried Tang Yue home.
Li Yuanzi looked completely bewildered. When she saw Tang Yue, who had opened her eyes, in Lin Cuicui's arms, she was startled. What was going on? Wasn't this girl supposed to be dead? How is she still alive?
What, what's going on here?
The brigade leader was old and not as fast as the villagers, so he walked at the back. When he reached Li Yuanzi, he pointed at her and said, "Tang Lao Er's family, you're supposed to be family, how can you be such a family? Hey, what's going on here?"
The brigade leader was furious. Times had changed. Although the brigade leader could manage the affairs of the entire brigade, he couldn't even handle this family matter.
Turning back, she glared angrily at Li Yuanzi, "This is murder! Do you even understand what murder is? The third brother's family can go to the county to report you."
Li Yuanzi, with her round body standing on the hillside, rolled her eyes at the brigade leader and said, "Tch, who are you trying to scare? With their parents around, no one can do anything to them."
As soon as Lin Cuicui came down the hillside, she saw three children running towards her. Tang Yue, bouncing in Lin Cuicui's arms, saw the three boys in the distance, and memories automatically surfaced in her mind.
These are her three older brothers. The eldest, Tang Bei, and the second eldest, Tang Nan, are twins and are nine years old this year. The shorter one in the back is the youngest, Tang Dong, who is seven years old this year.
"Da, Da Bei, hurry, hurry home and see your dad. Hurry!"
Tang Bei and his friends were gathering firewood on the western hill when they heard from other children that their uncle had carried a small coffin up the northern hill, which meant their sister must have died.
The three were furious. These brats dared to curse their sister! They immediately started punching and kicking them. But the kids' story sounded very convincing. The three panicked, abandoning their firewood, and ran as fast as they could towards the north mountain.
I had just come down the hillside when I saw my mother carrying my younger sister running down the mountain. My sister was alive.
Before Tang Bei, Tang Nan, and Tang Dong could even feel happy, they heard their mother's piercing screams and instinctively ran home. They had just forgotten, in their grief, that their father was still lying alone at home.
Of course, they didn't know that their father was lying on the cold ground.
As the three ran to their doorstep, they heard a loud thud as something heavy fell to the ground, followed by a soft groan.
Tang Bei's expression changed drastically, and he rushed towards the thatched hut. The Tang brothers, Tang Nan and Tang Dong, followed closely behind.
The sturdy wooden door was pushed open from the inside, and a tall, strong man carrying a cloth bag came out and bumped into Tang Bei and his group.
"Second Uncle, what brings you to my house?"
Upon seeing Tang Bei and the other two, Tang Shengli swiftly hid the cloth bag behind his back, a movement that revealed a thin figure lying on his side on the floor inside the house.
Tang Bei disregarded everything else; his heart sank. He rushed over, turned the person on the ground right-side up, and pulled his head into his arms, calling out anxiously, "Daddy, Daddy?"
Tang Bei held his father tightly. His father was burning hot, his face was purple, and tears still clung to the corners of his eyes. Even in his unconscious state, his hands were still clenched into fists, clearly indicating that he had struggled violently before losing consciousness.
"Dad, Dad? Wake up!" Tang Bei's voice was choked with sobs. His heart felt like it was being squeezed tightly by something, the pain almost making it hard to breathe, and it felt like something was about to leave him.
Tang Nan and Tang Dong also gathered around, their faces filled with worry and fear. Tang Nan gently touched his father's hand and whispered his name.
Tang Dong stood to the side, his small fists clenched, his eyes flashing with anger.
Just then, Lin Cuicui staggered in from outside, followed by villagers who had arrived a few minutes earlier than them.
The villagers didn't go into the house, mainly because there were no adults at home. Tang Shengkai was clearly in bad shape, and they didn't know what would happen if something were to happen to him.
Lin Cuicui's face was still streaked with tears. Seeing her husband's state, her heart skipped a beat, and then she panicked. He looked like he was about to die.
She tucked Tang Yue into Tang Nan's arms, took Tang Shengkai from Tang Bei's arms, and hugged him tightly, tears welling up in her eyes again.
"Tang Shengli, you beast, what have you done to my Shengkai!" Lin Cuicui's voice was filled with anger and despair, her eyes shooting at Tang Shengli like sharp swords.
Tang Shengli's expression changed. He hadn't expected them to return so quickly; his wife was truly unreliable. However, seeing Tang Shengkai's expression, Tang Shengli felt a sense of panic.
He stammered, "Third brother's wife, don't misunderstand, I just came to take a look, I didn't mean to do anything."
"Look? Look what you've done to my Shengkai! He was already sick, how can his body withstand this?" Lin Cuicui's voice was almost tearing through the cold wind; her anger was like a volcanic eruption, uncontrollable.
