Lin Cuicui sneered inwardly, thinking, "They really are like a persistent ghost."

It seemed Wei Xin had been standing at her door for quite a while. Her father hadn't brought Xixi out; they were probably sleeping inside. Lin Cuicui thought, since Wei Xin was willing to wait, then so be it.

She turned and went to the vegetable garden on the back hill. She hadn't been to this plot of land in a long time; Old Li usually took care of it. Lin Cuicui couldn't go into the yard now, so she could only come up the hill to pick a few vegetables.

She took a basket out of her spatial ring, picked a few vegetables from the ground, and carefully looked around to make sure no one was there before tearing off the invisibility talisman.

As Lin Cuicui was carrying her basket home, she ran into Wei Xin, who was also heading home. From afar, Lin Cuicui greeted her, "Hey, Sister-in-law Wei, it's almost noon, have you cooked yet?"

Wei Xin walked down the street, her eyes cold. She had been standing in front of Lin Cuicui's house for so long, and that damned woman had just stayed inside as if she didn't exist. It was clear she wasn't taking her seriously.

Two words kept screaming in Wei Xin's mind: "Damn it, damn it all!"

But when she heard Lin Cuicui's voice, she immediately adjusted her mood, looked up with a smile on her face, and said, "Oh, Sister-in-law Lin went out? No wonder I stood at your door for so long and didn't see you come out."

Many people saw her standing in front of Lin Cuicui's house just now. It's better for her to say it herself than for Lin Cuicui to hear it from someone else.

Lin Cuicui's eyes widened, then she looked embarrassed. "Oh dear, look at what's happened. Sister-in-law Wei, I haven't been to the vegetable garden on the back hill lately. I thought I had nothing to do today, so I went to check on it. There was some grass on the edge of the field, so I just picked some."

Didn't you call out? I figured Xixi was probably asleep, and his grandpa was sleeping with him.

"Come on, Sister-in-law Wei, let's go to my house for a while."

Wei Xin stared at Lin Cuicui for a few moments, unsure whether she was telling the truth. She planned to go up the mountain later to see if Lin Cuicui had really gone to the vegetable garden to weed, or if she had secretly gone out to meet someone.

Wei Xin smiled and shook her head, "I'll go to my sister-in-law's place first. It's almost noon, I'm going home to cook."

Lin Cuicui didn't insist on keeping him, saying, "Alright, come over and sit down when you have time."

The two passed each other, and Lin Cuicui had only taken two steps when Wei Xin stopped. "Sister-in-law, you said you were going to the border town in the next few days, have you decided on the date?"

Lin Cuicui turned around and shook her head, "Not yet. I'm thinking of going whenever the weather is nice and there's nothing much going on at home. Sister-in-law Wei, do you want to go too? That would be great, let's go together."

Wei Xin thought for a moment and said, "Okay, then let's go together, sister-in-law. It's been a long time since I've visited the border town."

Lin Cuicui readily agreed. "Then, Sister-in-law Wei, which day would you like to go? My schedule should be about the same for everyone, so let's go whenever it's convenient for you?"

Lin Cuicui now completely trusts her daughter. However, they still don't know which country's spy Wei Xin is. Since she's trying to make her mark, they might as well take care of her while she's at it. It'll save them from having trouble even when she's at home.

Wei Xin immediately agreed, "Okay, I haven't prepared anything yet. Let's see which day is auspicious in the next couple of days, and then we can go together, sister-in-law."

"Okay."

"Oh, by the way, sister-in-law, are you bringing Xixi with you?"

Seeing Lin Cuicui looking at her suspiciously, Wei Xin quickly replied, "Sister-in-law, I was just wondering since you usually take care of Xixi, so I thought I'd ask. If you are, I can help keep an eye on her too."

Lin Cuicui suddenly realized, "That's great! Xixi hasn't been to many places since he was born. It's a good opportunity to take him out for a stroll; the little guy will definitely be overjoyed."

Wei Xin's smile became even more genuine. "Alright, sister-in-law, it's settled then. The next couple of days look pretty good, how about we check the day after tomorrow?"

"Okay! If it doesn't rain the day after tomorrow, we'll go."

The two agreed, smiled at each other, and then parted ways.

After turning around, the two maintained their expressions until they returned home. Old Li had already instructed Xixi to move the stone formation in front of the house. Once inside the yard, Old Li pulled Xixi towards the house. Lin Cuicui followed behind.

"Cuicui, is that Sister Wei?"

Lin Cuicui nodded gravely. Everyone said Wei Xin and Yang Shengjun were a model couple in the army, incredibly loving. But who knew that Wei Xin was actually a venomous snake lurking beside Yang Shengjun?

The men serve their country on foreign battlefields, while the man at home turns out to be a spy. Lin Cuicui let out a deep breath. "Dad, did you hear everything?"

Old Li nodded. "Are you really going to take Xixi with you?"

Lin Cuicui shook her head with a smile, "How could that be?" She hugged Xixi tightly, "Dad, Da Bei and the others were just in a bad situation because their families didn't have the means. The family's situation is much better now than it was back then. I don't want to take Xixi on a risk."

So, I was thinking that after I get out, you and Xixi can go to the army. With Commander Kang protecting you, nothing will happen to you.”

Old Li opened his mouth as if to say something, but ultimately didn't. Lin Cuicui looked relaxed, "Dad, don't worry, I've already reached the first level of Qi Refining, even spies can't gain any advantage over me."

Besides, there are all sorts of medicinal powders and pills that Yueyue left me. If I go out for a bit, nothing will happen.

Old Li thought for a moment, "Take all the tools from home with you. Go see Commander Kang, and he should prepare them for you. But to avoid arousing suspicion, they probably won't reach you."

Keep some on hand, just in case.

Lin Cuicui smiled, "Dad, don't worry, I have ten guns here. They're all fully loaded with bullets. I've also prepared a lot of other ammunition. Yueyue has also prepared plenty of other goodies. As for you..."
