Su Huaiyue died suddenly from staying up late writing her thesis! Before she could even lament being a young genius envied by the heavens, she found herself transmigrated to a vast, boundless deser...
The women of the Wei family were still eager to learn, but when Wei Che reminded them, they remembered that they still had to go to Chenglu Temple to worship and pray, and they all stood up.
The carriage on the return journey was also bustling. Wei Che couldn't get a word in at all, but he felt like he was participating just by listening.
Soon, the Wei family gathered in the courtyard, all of them in high spirits, ready to go to Chenglu Temple.
Su Huaiyue looked concerned, holding a delicate little box in her hand. She walked over to the old lady and said softly, "Grandma, I've prepared some nourishing snacks and emergency medicine for you. If you feel unwell along the way, be sure to tell me."
The old lady was filled with relief. She reached out and patted Su Huaiyue's hand, nodding in agreement.
There was constant laughter and joy along the way.
Wei Yunrou was like a cheerful little deer, skipping and jumping in front, sometimes stopping to pick wild flowers by the roadside, and sometimes looking back to urge everyone: "Hurry up, or the sun will burn our butts if we don't move!"
The old lady looked at the energetic younger generations around her, her face filled with a happy smile and her eyes full of love and satisfaction.
At Wei Yunrou's urging, everyone quickened their pace and headed towards Chenglu Temple along the winding mountain road.
Chenglu Temple is located on the top of a mountain. From afar, the ancient temple is looming among the lush forests. The morning bells and evening drums, and the faint Buddhist chants reveal a sense of tranquility and solemnity that transcends the world.
Although the mountain road leading to the temple is rugged and difficult to walk on, it has a unique charm because of the beautiful scenery and blooming wild flowers along the way.
The Wei family and their group walked slowly along the mountain path. The old lady sat in the comfortable sedan chair specially prepared by Wei Che, looking at the surrounding mountains and waters through the curtains. She looked energetic and a happy smile was on her face.
Wei Che and Su Huaiyue accompanied the sedan chair on the left and right, and the other female relatives followed behind, laughing and chatting all the way.
After walking for a while, Wei Yunrou suddenly found a bunch of plants with lavender flowers on the side of the road. Her eyes lit up and she shouted excitedly: "Sister-in-law, look at those flowers, they are so beautiful!"
Su Huaiyue looked in the direction of her finger, and sure enough, she saw that the flowers were blooming brightly in the sun, like a purple cloud falling among the grass.
"This flower is indeed beautiful, but you can't pick wild flowers in the mountains casually. Some of them may be poisonous." Su Huaiyue reminded with a smile.
Wei Yunrou stuck out her tongue and said playfully, "I'm just taking a look, I won't pick anything randomly."
As they were talking, everyone had already arrived at the gate of Chenglu Temple.
The mountain gate is tall and magnificent, with three golden characters "Chenglu Temple" written on it. After years of baptism, it still shines brightly.
The stone lions on both sides are majestic and solemn, quietly guarding this pure land.
As you enter the mountain gate, you can smell a faint scent of sandalwood, which makes you feel peaceful.
The buildings in the temple are well-arranged, with red walls and green tiles, simple and elegant.
There are several towering trees planted in the yard. The sunlight shines through the gaps between the leaves and onto the ground, forming patches of light.
An elderly monk heard the commotion and came out of his meditation room. He had a kind face and was dressed in a moon-white robe. He clasped his hands together and bowed slightly. "Amitabha, are you here to pay homage to the Buddha?"
Su Huaiyue stepped forward and returned the greeting, “Master, we are here to pray for blessings. We hope that our families will be safe and our business will be prosperous.”
The monk nodded, a kind smile on his face: "Donors, please follow me."
He brought everyone from the Wei family to the main hall. The hall was magnificent, and the Buddha statues inside were solemn and dignified, shining with golden light, which was awe-inspiring.
Everyone knelt on the cushions, kowtowed to the Buddha devoutly, and prayed silently in their hearts for their wishes.
Wei Che clasped his hands together, closed his eyes, and prayed silently in his heart to the Buddha to bless his grandmother with good health, and that the Wei family would soon regain its former glory. He also hoped that his relationship with Su Huaiyue would be smooth and not be bound by worldly views.
Su Huaiyue prayed to Buddha to bless the Wei family's beauty shop to prosper and let everyone in the Wei family live a good life. At the same time, she also hoped that Old Madam Wei could safely survive this illness and live a long life.
After worshiping the Buddha, the monks took them to the Guanyin Hall. Guanyin Bodhisattva had a kind face, holding a pure bottle, standing quietly on the lotus throne, as if overlooking all things in the world.
"Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva is compassionate and will grant all wishes. Donors can draw a lot here," said the monk.
When Wei Yunrou heard this, her eyes lit up immediately. She pulled Su Huaiyue's arm and said coquettishly, "Sister-in-law, let's go and ask for a fortune to see what the future holds for our shop."
Su Huaiyue smiled and nodded, "Okay, then let's go get a fortune stick and see what guidance the Bodhisattva gives us."
Everyone came to the fortune-telling box. Wei Yunrou clasped her hands together, closed her eyes, made a wish, then shook the box and a bamboo stick rolled out.
The monk picked up the bamboo stick, looked at the words on it, and said, "This is an excellent lot. It says, 'Auspicious people are blessed by heaven and have great fortune.' The cause that the donors are seeking will surely be smooth and prosperous."
After hearing this, Wei Yunrou jumped up with joy. "That's great! God bless our shop and it will surely prosper!"
Su Huaiyue also laughed, and then Wei Ersao, Wei Sansao, and Wei Sisao also went to ask for fortune sticks.
Everyone's fortunes were pretty good, and everyone was even happier, feeling that this trip to Chenglu Temple was a good decision.
After coming out of the Guanyin Hall, everyone came to the backyard of the temple. There was a bamboo forest in the backyard. The bamboos were lush and green, swaying in the wind, making rustling sounds, as if they were whispering something.
There is a clear spring next to the bamboo forest. The spring water is crystal clear and flows gently, adding a bit of vitality to this quiet temple.
The old lady looked at the beautiful scenery before her and couldn't help but sigh: "This Chenglu Temple is really a quiet and beautiful place. No wonder it is so popular."
Su Huaiyue supported the old lady and said with a smile: "Grandma, when our shop business stabilizes, I will bring you here often when I have time to relax and breathe the fresh air of the mountains."
The old lady nodded, a pleased smile on her face, "Huaiyue, you are a kind-hearted child, and so capable. The Wei family is blessed to have you."
Su Huaiyue felt warm in her heart after hearing this. She gently held the old lady's hand and said, "Grandma, don't say that. We are a family. I should do all this."
At this time, Wei Che walked to Su Huaiyue and said softly: "I will go to discuss with the monks in the temple and ask them to help us prepare some vegetarian food. I think everyone is hungry."
Su Huaiyue nodded, "Okay, go ahead, you've worked hard."
After Wei Che left, Wei Yunrou took Su Huaiyue to the edge of the bamboo forest and said mysteriously, "Sister-in-law, when I was drawing lots just now, I saw that there seemed to be a small pavilion in the bamboo forest. Let's go over there and take a look."
