In his previous life, Lin Yifeng was tricked by his first love into going abroad, missing the period of rapid development in his homeland.
He finally managed to amass a fortune of hundreds of...
Lin Yifeng raised an eyebrow dismissively.
"Curse me?"
"Let him curse whatever he wants!"
"He needs to have that ability first."
"If we don't pack up soon, we might miss the bus!"
Bai Yejin couldn't stop smiling.
After leaving the stall, the two strolled around for a while longer.
Further in, there's not much left. The streets on both sides are mostly filled with old Kyoto locals holding "beads" in their hands, and various antiques and curios are displayed on the ground.
Bai Yejin also curiously looked at the last section of the alley, observing the various items sold at the stalls on both sides.
Lin Yifeng didn't care about these things at first, until Bai Yejin tugged at him and pointed to one of the ornaments on a street stall.
"Look at this, isn't this..."
Bai Yejin's expression turned somewhat strange halfway through her sentence.
Lin Yifeng took a closer look and realized that the thing did look somewhat familiar.
The familiar pattern, the familiar color scheme, plus a small, distressed box placed next to it.
Isn't this the Ding kiln patterned bowl that he snagged a few months ago?
These two things are exactly the same.
When the vendors at the stall saw Lin Yifeng stop in front of their stall and squat down to check out the goods, they immediately became interested and started calling out to the two of them.
"Hey! What are you doing?! What are you doing?!"
"Just look and don't get your hands on them!"
"This thing is precious; you can't handle it if it breaks!"
That thick Beijing accent made Lin Yifeng chuckle.
However, when he looked down and scanned the items on the stall, they were a wide variety of things.
From various muddy vases to colorful glazed tiles, you can even see a few dilapidated bronzes.
Most of the items are those with various Ding ware patterns.
If this weren't an antique market, Lin Yifeng would have thought this guy had brought out the Kyoto Museum.
But soon Lin Yifeng noticed a small teacup with some cracks, but the patterns were very clear. This thing looked somewhat similar to the large bowl he had bought before.
"This thing?"
Lin Yifeng frowned slightly, not daring to linger his gaze on it for too long, for fear of attracting the attention of the stall owner.
Instead, in order to examine the bowl, he picked up a small bronze object that looked like a Pixiu (a mythical creature).
The stall owner got really into it.
"Hey, you have a sharp eye! This is no ordinary stuff!"
"This is the only son left from our ancestors!"
Lin Yifeng ignored the rhetoric.
He was already used to this.
But what intrigued him even more was the old, worn-out bowl next to him.
Judging from the colors and patterns, it is indeed a Ding kiln piece, but the price of this item cannot be determined.
"This thing..."
Lin Yifeng pretended to hesitate and looked at the little bronze statue in front of him.
When was the shipment delivered?
The stall owner gestured with his lips.
"Brother, it's not that I'm taking the candy, but this treasure needs to be found a good home!"
“It’s an old object passed down from the older generation. I estimate it’s from around the Shang or Zhou dynasty.”
Seeing that Lin Yifeng did not reply, the stall owner hurriedly added another sentence.
"If you really intend to ask me to leave, I'll have to ask my ancestors in a dream first!"
Lin Yifeng didn't say anything, but silently put the thing down.
He turned to look at Bai Yejin beside him, then shook his head and sighed.
Seeing that Lin Yifeng had lost interest, the stall owner became a little anxious.
"Hey, sir!"
"Don't do that!"
"Let's take another look!"
Lin Yifeng ignored the stall owner and left the stall with Bai Yejin.
After walking a short distance, Lin Yifeng lowered his voice to remind Bai Yejin.
"There are some good things at the stall, but I can't buy them?"
Bai Yejin was slightly taken aback. She had just looked at the antiques on the stall and found that there were basically nothing of value.
"You want to buy that little bronze figure?"
"Is this thing really from the Shang and Zhou dynasties?"
"That can't be right."
Lin Yifeng gently rubbed Bai Yejin's head.
"What Shang and Zhou dynasties!"
"It probably just came out last week."
Seeing Lin Yifeng teasing her like this, Bai Yejin pouted and sulked a little.
"The small bowl next to the bronze artifact."
"I have a feeling that it must be a good product."
"If nothing unexpected happens, that's also from the Ding kiln!"
This surprised Bai Yejin somewhat.
She had been following Lin Yifeng's gaze the whole time and hadn't noticed this broken thing at all.
Now that Lin Yifeng said this, she became somewhat curious.
Lin Yifeng gave Bai Yejin a fifty-yuan note, and then whispered some instructions in her ear about what would happen afterward.
Bai Yejin frowned slightly.
"Will it really work?"
"no problem."
Lin Yifeng smiled.
"Watch our White Queen's acting skills!"
Bai Yejin gently twisted Lin Yifeng's waist and walked into the alley.
Before long, the stall owner saw Bai Yejin stroll leisurely to the stall.
She crouched down gently next to the porcelain, staring intently at the small bronze artifact.
The stall owner greeted her with a smile when he saw her return.
"Hey, little girl, what's up? Another surprise attack?"
"What? Was that just a rehearsal, and now you're doing the real thing?"
Bai Yejin squatted down and hugged her knees, her tone tinged with worry.
"Brother, my boyfriend brought me to Kyoto for fun."
"He bought me a lot of gifts, and I want to give him a gift in return."
“I noticed he really liked that thing, so I was thinking of buying one for him.”
