The entire population has been transported to a wilderness survival game, where natural disasters and man-made calamities take turns striking.
Zhang Shi awakened a Heaven-defying Sign-in Syst...
Despite spending a great deal of time, Zhang Shi still hadn't found any clues about the so-called secret room.
Now that they had finally unearthed something unusual, Zhang Shi steeled his resolve and began digging without any hesitation.
A moment later, the entire coffin was revealed to everyone.
The stone coffin was entirely light blue, large enough to hold two people. The coffin was carved with patterns that resembled hieroglyphics, which Zhang Shi guessed were similar to oracle bone script.
Zhao Feng glanced at the coffin and then pushed the lid open.
Zhao Feng's strength attributes were already astonishing, but he still struggled to push the coffin lid. Seeing this, Zhang Shi stepped forward to help.
With their combined efforts, the coffin lid was slowly moved open, making a rubbing sound, and a putrid smell emanated from inside the coffin.
The four men peered into the coffin and were surprised to find that there were not the layers of coffins they had imagined.
Inside the coffin was a secret passage leading underground, dark and deep, making it impossible to see what was inside.
"Alright, another basement. How about we go in and explore?"
Zhao Feng seemed indifferent, as if he was already immune to the strangeness of this instance.
"The hidden mission is to find a secret room, and this place seems to fit the requirements."
Zhang Shi and the others exchanged glances and ultimately decided to go down and investigate.
Worried about any further mishaps, before leaving, Ge Dalong used his magic wand to cast a magical barrier at the entrance of the stone coffin.
"Although its defense isn't great, I'll be alerted immediately if there's any unusual activity."
Zhao Feng led the way as usual, with Zhang Shi carrying an oil lamp close behind.
The dim light cast long shadows of the four people, and their footsteps echoed on the stone steps.
People are always afraid when they are in dark and enclosed places. Ge Dalong was worried that the mysterious fifth person would show up and cause trouble, so he walked at the back, glancing back every now and then, afraid that something might happen.
As the saying goes, what you fear most is what happens. The four of them walked downhill for about two minutes.
A loud bang came from behind and above, followed by a screeching sound.
Ge Dalong, with a solemn expression, addressed the crowd.
"The protective knot shattered."
Zhang Shineng could guess what the sound above meant, and his expression remained normal.
"This is forcing us to move forward."
Without uttering a word, the four cautiously continued their exploration. They walked for an unknown amount of time before the downward-sloping stone steps finally disappeared.
The end appeared, and a vast underground space opened up before them.
The space was towering and vast, like a forgotten underground palace. The walls were inlaid with faintly glowing gems, which continued to bring an eerie and mysterious light to this dark place for countless years.
At the center stands a massive altar cast from an unknown metal, adorned with intricate patterns that echo the hieroglyphs on the sarcophagus, seemingly imbued with some ancient and powerful force. Scattered around the altar are several artifacts that appear to be ancient, some covered in thick dust, others shimmering with strange light, inspiring contemplation.
Upon seeing the treasure, Zhao Feng was overjoyed and ran to the altar to examine the scattered relics.
“It seems we really have found the so-called ‘secret room’.” Zhang Shi looked around, his eyes flashing with a mixture of excitement and vigilance.
Wu Qing stepped forward and gently touched the edge of the altar, feeling its cold and hard texture. She frowned and said, "This altar is somewhat similar to the one in the previous instance."
Ge Dalong took out his wand and cautiously examined the altar to ensure there were no potential dangers: "We need to find clues related to the mission as soon as possible, while remaining vigilant, as there may be unknown dangers hidden here."
"So, did you find anything?"
Zhang Shi turned to ask Zhao Feng, only to find that the spot where Zhao Feng had been squatting was empty, and Zhao Feng's handprint was still left on the dusty iron vessel.
Zhang Shi looked around and realized that Zhao Feng had mysteriously disappeared in front of everyone, and immediately felt something was wrong.
"Zhao Feng has disappeared."
Zhang Shi realized something was wrong, his tone tinged with anxiety. He used his True Sense to examine his surroundings, but found nothing. Besides the three of them, there was no one else in the dimly lit underground palace.
"Wasn't he just looking at the belongings?" Wu Qing realized the seriousness of the problem, her voice trembling slightly.
Realizing the danger, Ge Dalong immediately raised his magic wand and cast an energy barrier.
Zhang Shi was extremely anxious. He checked Zhao Feng's status on the team interface and found nothing unusual. However, Zhao Feng did not respond at all, whether he sent a private message or tagged him.
"Don't worry, he may have encountered something, but he should be out of danger for the time being," Ge Dalong said in a deep voice, his face solemn.
Zhang Shi forced himself to calm down and analyzed, "The terrain here is complex, we can't search blindly. We must remain vigilant to prevent ourselves from getting into danger. Everyone should stick together and not be alone."
Wu Qing nodded in agreement. Although she was anxious, she knew this was not the time to panic. She suggested, "Zhao Feng disappeared while examining these relics. We can check them to see if there are any clues."
The three of them collected all the scattered belongings on the ground and examined them one by one. However, neither the system nor the authentication could identify these items, and Zhang Shi could not determine whether Zhao Feng's disappearance was related to these things.
"Come here quickly! There's a trap here!" Ge Dalong whispered.
Upon hearing this, Zhang Shi and Wu Qing immediately rushed to Ge Dalong's side. They saw him pointing to a seemingly ordinary stone slab next to the altar and saying, "There are energy fluctuations here, and it seems there is another space below."
Zhang Shi used his penetrating vision to examine it, but found nothing unusual. He then tapped it with his fist and, judging from the sound, confirmed that it was indeed hollow underneath.
The three of them pushed aside the stone slab and discovered a narrow, dark passage. A faint light emanated from the depths of the passage, along with a murmur that could be heard indistinctly.
"It's Zhao Feng's voice."
Zhang Shi looked suspicious, hesitated for a moment, and then took the lead in entering the secret passage.
Wu Qing and Ge Dalong exchanged a glance, each took out their weapons, and followed closely behind. The three of them walked along the secret passage and finally arrived at a hidden chamber.
Inside the small room, Zhao Feng was standing in front of a glowing treasure chest, his face full of surprise. But when he saw Zhang Shi and the others enter, he immediately gave an apologetic smile: "Zhang Shi, I was too excited and didn't have time to tell you."
"It's good that you're alright." Zhang Shi smiled, stepped forward and patted Zhao Feng on the shoulder. "Let's quickly see if there are any clues here. Maybe we can find something related to the mission."
"Oh, by the way, have you checked what's inside this treasure chest?"
Zhang Shi's gaze fell on the treasure chest.
Zhao Feng turned around, about to explain something to Zhang Shi. But Zhang Shi's expression suddenly turned icy cold, and the old Duan sword in his hand flashed out, unleashing a triple strike that aimed at the back of Zhao Feng's head.
