Chapter 18 Spirit Core

There was only one office on the top floor, and inside were three zombies that didn't look quite normal.

There were tiny flames rising from their bodies; their skin was not only dry and cracked, but also extremely black, like charcoal.

It was extremely bulky, about the size of three or four zombies combined, a veritable little mountain of flesh.

Li Xuanzu knew something was wrong when he saw those zombies. He didn't rush to attack, but they were also staring intently at them, and they remained in a standoff.

However, the quiet atmosphere did not last long. One of the zombies, with flames erupting from its body, moved. The flames on its body quickly ignited, and it charged towards Li Xuanzu.

It was engulfed in intense flames, like a fireball.

Another zombie followed behind it, also engulfed in flames.

The remaining fat zombie was fiddling with something on its body with its enormous hand, but remained motionless.

Seeing this, Li Xuanzu ran out of the office and closed the door behind him.

Two zombies crashed directly into the door, cracking the glass door slightly.

"Their strength isn't in terms of raw power, Qian Li. Try to hold one back and circle around it. I'll take care of one and then come help you," Li Xuanzu quickly instructed Qian Li.

Qian Li nodded in agreement. Just then, the cracks on the glass door increased and finally broke under the weight, and the two "firemen" burst out of the door.

After the two separated, Qian Li picked up something from the ground and threw it at one of the zombies.

The zombie was somewhat annoyed and chased after Qian Li, while the remaining one attacked Li Xuanzu.

Li Xuanzu swung his hammer and smashed it hard into the zombie's chest. The zombie was sent flying back at a much faster speed than when it came in due to the impact of the enormous force.

"Evolved zombies don't seem that strong," Li Xuanzu concluded after weighing the hammer in his hand.

Just as Li Xuanzu was muttering, a pale yellow liquid flew towards him.

His divine sense had already detected it, and he dodged it effortlessly.

The liquid landed in an empty space, and just a few seconds later, puffs of white smoke rose from the ground where it touched.

Li Xuanzu was somewhat relieved that he hadn't forcibly blocked the liquid.

He also saw the source of the attack: a bloated zombie that wasn't moving.

The liquid flowing from its body is similar to the one from the attack, but it is not highly corrosive.

Then the opponent prepared another attack and launched it.

Li Xuanzu learned the reason: He put some liquid on himself, swallowed it, spat it out, and then flung it at Li Xuanzu.

This disgusted him. He looked at Qian Li and, finding no problem, threw one of the hammers in his hand at the bloated zombie.

The hammer struck its mouth precisely.

Because Li Xuanzu couldn't stand seeing it hit people with its saliva, he hit it with particularly great force.

The zombie's mouth was pierced by the hammer, and the hammerhead emerged from the back of its head.

Seeing that the other party had fallen to the ground and was not getting up, he first hit the head of the zombie he had knocked down earlier, and then finished off the fat zombie in the same way.

Qian Li also used the terrain to lure the zombies chasing her to the fire hydrant and killed them.

Li Xuanzu picked up the hammer he had thrown and suddenly noticed a small, round ball emitting a faint glow on the spot where the fat zombie's head had exploded.

He fiddled with it with a hammer, and after finding nothing wrong, he took it away. There was also one in the burning zombie head, and Qian Li found one too.

Before they could investigate further, Li Xuanzu suddenly sensed someone approaching.

Leng An and his group's car arrived just then.

He saw the mountain of zombies piled up on the first floor and had a bad feeling.

Someone beat us to it.
