Chapter 40 Doubt

Upon seeing Li Xuanzu, the dozens of people were first astonished, then excited.

"Really? Has someone really come to rescue us?"

"Great, I'm finally done with this miserable life. I've had enough of this lousy porridge."

"Um, are all the zombies really cleared out?"

A girl said something weakly, and everyone fell silent, calming down to look at Li Xuanzu.

They naturally knew the number of zombies outside the school, and if an army really came, they wouldn't miss such a loud noise.

"Why don't you go out and see for yourself?" Li Xuanzu didn't want to explain and walked towards the school gate on his own.

Qian Li had cleared away the numerous obstacles at the main entrance, and she had just finished dealing with the last Tier 2 zombie when Li Xuanzu came out.

She put five second-tier spirit cores into a bag and tossed it to Li Xuanzu.

They had previously kept things fairly clear: whoever obtained the spirit cores owned them. However, Li Xuanzu found it troublesome and wanted Qian Li to keep all the spirit cores. But after some discussion, the responsibility of keeping them fell to Li Xuanzu.

As soon as Gu Pengyun arrived at the school gate, he saw a little girl of about ten years old tinkering with a second-tier spirit core in the head of a zombie. Around her lay zombies of various shapes, some flat, some rolled into balls, and some that were not even recognizable as zombies.

They were all shaped like this by Qian Li using gravity. If you only look at Qian Li's appearance, you would definitely be fooled.

She might not be as quick at clearing individual zombies as Li Xuanzu, but if the number were large, Li Xuanzu couldn't guarantee that he could outrun Qian Li.

As long as Qian Li outputs her full energy, the second-tier zombie will be crushed by the immense pressure in just five seconds; it's incredibly violent.

Fortunately, these people were a little slow to get out, otherwise, seeing that scene would have made them too full to vomit.

"That truck over there is the vehicle we use to transport you survivors. There are some supplies on board. Please do not eat a lot immediately if you have been hungry for a long time. There are currently no officially established rescue points in City A. We will take you to temporary rescue points set up by other psionicists. Someone will meet you there." Li Xuanzu said briefly and gestured for everyone to get on the truck.

After getting on the bus, the school survivors ate some compressed biscuits and the like.

"Everyone, listen to me, don't you think this person is strange?" a girl said while eating.

Upon hearing this, everyone put down the food they were holding.

"There was no official news, and suddenly such a powerful psychic came to save us. Something's not right."

"Lin Yue, what are you saying? He came all this way to save us. What would he have gained? If he had come a few days later, we would have either starved to death or had to fight zombies. Now that we're saved, you're starting to doubt us?" Another girl who was nearby retorted.

"What's the point? In this post-apocalyptic world, what else can a person have that's worth anything besides satisfying other people's selfish desires? I've heard that the biggest biotech companies in China are colluding to conduct human experiments." The girl who raised the question retorted immediately, not to be outdone.

The argument grew louder and louder, which annoyed Li Xuanzu, who was spreading his divine sense. He sent Qian Li to the back to relay a message.

There's a small window in the front seat of the truck that can be opened, allowing you to see directly behind you.

“We are second-tier psionicists from the Dragon Kingdom. Our information can be found online. We are not affiliated with any faction, so there is no need to worry about your personal safety,” Qian Li said, then decided to add another point.

“Even if we really wanted to conduct human experiments, we wouldn’t travel all the way to a place far from Kyoto and take such a big risk.” Qian Li’s voice was very childish, and it was hard to imagine that such a child had cleared away the zombies at the school gate.

The girl looked a little embarrassed after hearing this, lowered her head, and stopped touching the food in her hand.

"Eat something. Your body won't be able to handle it if you don't get proper nutrition for too long." Unlike Li Xuanzu, Qian Li was quite caring.

The little incident passed quickly. After two hours, Li Xuanzu put the person down and continued to clear out the zombies in other areas.

Leng An, Jia Tai, and Xie Ke'er were not there; they were responsible for finding trucks to transport the survivors.
