Chapter 5 New Projects

Li Xuanzu was still sleeping on the sofa. He didn't plan to move. Nowadays, renting a place often requires a deposit, and it's hard to find one. Plus, there's no guarantee that someone could help take care of Qian Li.

Even though Li Xuanzu told Ning Hanxiang that she wouldn't be going to school, she still rented the house to Li Xuanzu at a low price.

"Just consider it for Qian Li's sake. Besides, you've only just started making money, and it's not stable yet. You should save some money in some areas. Aunt Ning wouldn't be short of your rent, would she?" Ning Hanxiang was very generous. She really liked the set of cosmetics that Li Xuanzu had given her.

Although she is not short of money, she rarely receives gifts from others.

These past few days, Li Xuanzu has been setting up his stall again, and he's added a very interesting service: calculating past and present lives.

This calculation by Li Xuanzu wasn't difficult, so it was priced at one hundred.

Business was terrible today; hardly anyone came, and the city management officers even chased us away on the street.

Apart from a chubby guy who came to have his fortune told yesterday and came back again, and a girl who came to have her past and present lives told, there were no other customers.

I only received 150.

Li Xuanzu decided to try his luck at the antique market sometime.

In reality, calling it an antique market is just a bunch of people gathering together with random trinkets they've picked up; there are plenty of these on the roadside and overpasses.

Li Xuanzu barely ate anything all day, except for two steamed buns he ate when he set up his stall in the morning.

He went to pick up Qian Li in the evening, and Ning Hanxiang was cooking and invited him to stay for dinner.

Li Xuanzu's body was no longer in the Tribulation Transcending stage, and Qian Gang's body hadn't yet mastered the abstaining from grains. The feeling of hunger was unbearable, so Li Xuanzu agreed without even thinking.

The meal was plentiful, with three dishes and a soup, and all three of us were quite full.

Qian Li offered to help clear the dishes, but Qian Li refused.

Because Qian Gang usually brings back leftovers from the restaurant where he works, Qian Li mostly eats at Ning Hanxiang's house, and the little one often does the dishes.

While Qian Li was washing the dishes, Ning Hanxiang asked Li Xuanzu to look at her face.

Li Xuanzu naturally wouldn't reveal that Ning Hanxiang was a jinx to her husbands, so he only spoke of the good things, making Ning Hanxiang quite happy.

But Ning Hanxiang still asked the question.

"Xiao Gang, could you help Aunt Ning with her marriage fortune telling?" Ning Hanxiang asked with a smile. Li Xuanzu's calculations of birth dates and some past events were very accurate, which made her believe that Li Xuanzu had some real skills.

However, Li Xuanzu did not speak, and his expression was somewhat awkward.

Ning Hanxiang understood as well, but still asked Li Xuanzu to tell the truth.

“Aunt Ning, you are somewhat unlucky in marriage.” Li Xuanzu forced himself to speak. This was a very sensitive issue for women, especially for someone like Ning Hanxiang, and it was unlikely that he could lie to her.

"Don't worry, Aunt Ning, these are just superstitions, don't take them seriously." Li Xuanzu wanted to say something more, but Ning Hanxiang interrupted him.

"No need to comfort me, at least you didn't lie to me. My husband died young, just a few months after we got married, but he still left me several properties. Isn't that a bit silly?" Ning Hanxiang said, her eyes already brimming with tears.

Li Xuanzu sensed something was wrong and turned to see Qian Li, who had finished washing the dishes and was peeking out furtively. He quickly beckoned her over.

Fortunately, Qian Li understood what she meant and quickly came over to take Ning Hanxiang's hand.

"Don't cry, Aunt Ning. If my brother upset you, I'll sleep with you tonight." Qian Li shook Ning Hanxiang's hand.

Ning Hanxiang was amused by Qian Li and suggested that Qian Li stay overnight at her place from now on.

Li Xuanzu was more than happy to accept it, but he still looked at Qian Li with a questioning gaze.

Qian Li naturally agreed, so Li Xuanzu went back alone.

Before leaving, Ning Hanxiang asked Li Xuanzu to have dinner at her place from now on. Li Xuanzu agreed and was about to pay for the meal, but Ning Hanxiang refused.

"Just bring some vegetables when you come." Without waiting for Li Xuanzu's reaction, she closed the door.
