Four years ago, Wen Shu was set up and spent a wild night with a man.
Four years later, the man appeared... "You stole my treasure, and you still want to leave?"
Wen Shu froze upon hearing Li Duo's words.
Wen Shu wasn't trying to speak up for Li Duo; she just wanted to argue with Aunt Zhang.
The old lady had nothing better to do than gossip and spread rumors about people behind their backs. She would say that if someone's son made money, it was because he was lucky, and if someone's daughter made money, it was because she was doing something improper.
If someone's daughter isn't married, they're considered mentally unstable; if someone's son isn't married, they're considered physically ill.
In the old lady's opinion, her family was the most innocent in the entire neighborhood.
Wen Shu was slapped in the face by Li Duo. She was furious when she saw Aunt Zhang's surprised face.
Aunt Zhang was overjoyed and glanced triumphantly at Wen Shu. "This young man doesn't seem like the kind of sensual person who would be bewitched by a vixen. I saw on the Slow Foot app that it says something like... 'Beautiful souls are all the same...'"
Aunt Zhang got stuck and couldn't remember.
Li Duo chuckled: "Are you saying that a beautiful appearance is a dime a dozen, but an interesting soul is one in a million?"
"Young people have such pleasant voices," Aunt Zhang exclaimed excitedly. "Yes, yes, that's exactly what they say! Young man, you can tell he's a cultured person. He's a perfect match for my daughter!"
Looking at the perfectly matched couple, Wen Shu was both amused and exasperated. "Congratulations, Mr. Li, on finding your soulmate!"
Just before closing the door, she poked her head out again: "Aunt Zhang, Mr. Li's family is rich and powerful. He's a rare diamond bachelor in Beicheng. You'd better grab him!"
Then, in front of Li Duo, she slammed the door shut, even turning off the door light that was on outside the courtyard, plunging it into complete darkness.
Upon seeing this, Aunt Zhang turned her head and spat, "Pah, indecent!"
Jin Chao, who had witnessed the whole thing, quietly stepped forward and said, "Mr. Li, it's time to go back."
Upon hearing this, Aunt Zhang hurriedly said, "Young man, wait a moment, let me get you my daughter's business card."
Aunt Zhang hurriedly went back into the house.
Suddenly, a conversation between a mother and son could be heard in the dark courtyard.
"Shushu, who's talking?"
"Nobody's here, it's just a fly that's run into poop. Our succulents smell good, they don't want to be friends with flies and poop, come inside right now!"
Run!
"Bang!"
The second door was also closed.
Jin Chao: "..."
He glanced at Li Duo cautiously, "Mr. Li?"
Li Duo fiddled with the USB drive in his hand. "Go back."
When Aunt Zhang chased after him, she found that the young man had already gotten into a car and left.
"Hey, young man, you haven't taken my daughter's business card yet!"
On Monday, a workday, Wen Shu took Wen Rou Rou to kindergarten.
"Shushu, bye-bye."
Wen Rou Rou was carrying a small backpack containing diapers and pants in case the child wet their pants.
The child who had spoken ill of Wen Xingzhou last time ran over and took his chubby little hand. "Wen Xingzhou, my mom said your mom isn't a thief."
Wen Rou Rou glanced at the child and said, "Mm."
That wasn't it to begin with.
The newly opened shopping district was filled with colorful ribbons and balloons hanging in the sky above Fengxing Plaza, surrounded by the deafening sound of gongs and drums. The lion dance team was divided into four groups, tumbling and rolling, attracting countless onlookers.
An orange carrot doll, with a cute smiling face, bounced and jumped around in the crowd.
It was too hot, and the usual temporary workers were unwilling to take the job. The owner of the doll rental shop contacted Wen Shu, who had left her phone number, the night before.
The agreed price was 200, but because they were worried about heatstroke, the shopkeeper offered 300.
Wen Shu believed she had a good constitution and was heat-resistant, having never suffered from heatstroke since childhood, so she readily agreed.
Children love carrot plush toys because they are very approachable and attract children.
Soon, a whole bunch of little radishes followed behind the big, bright orange carrot.
Wen Shu already felt the heat and stuffiness, so she tried her best to get closer to the mall entrance.
Because the mall had air conditioning on, the cold air would drift out through the doors, so she specifically used the vents to catch the cold air.
A group of leaders, fawning over a single person, walked towards the mall entrance.
"Because of the great discounts, the number of customers has been growing explosively from morning to noon. Now, there are limits on the number of people allowed in the mall."
"The children's section and women's clothing section on the second floor were the most popular, and jewelry sales also exceeded expectations..."
Li Duo walked in the middle of the crowd, heading towards the mall entrance.
The commercial area around Fengxing Plaza is the latest investment of the Li family. As the major shareholder, the Li family attaches great importance to the development prospects of the mall.
On the first day of business, Li Duo personally came to inspect the business.
A giant carrot was peering through the crack in the glass door.
Before Li Duo could speak, someone rushed over to shoo him away, saying, "Staff, don't come this way..."
Wen Shu was feeling dizzy from the heat when someone suddenly nudged her. She turned around, still dazed, trying to see who it was through the vent.
As a result, the carrot top was too big. She turned around quickly, and since she was already unsteady on her feet, the carrot top caused her to spin around in a big circle.
She staggered, dizzy and disoriented, trying her best to maintain her balance, but amidst the screams of those around her, the carrot successfully knocked people down.
Wen Shu's vision was obstructed, so she had no idea what had happened, except that she thought she had bumped into someone.
She struggled, ignoring the weight of the radish greens, and couldn't get up even after several attempts.
From the perspective of those around them, the giant carrot was pressing down on Mr. Li, and the carrot's big mouth was right in the awkward lower half of Mr. Li's body.
The carrot was still struggling desperately, and its dynamic posture looked very unsightly.
A young couple happened to be passing by, and the boy couldn't help but voice everyone's thoughts: "This isn't a proper carrot!"
Onlookers: "Hahaha..."
