He immediately made a phone call, "Find out why Wen Shu left the office today!"

"Mr. Li?"

Wen Shu withdrew her hand, looking at him warily. "What are you trying to do now? Haven't I done enough to satisfy you?"

Li Duo stared at her, his lips moved, but he said nothing.

"You can go home now."

Wen Shu looked at the police officer at the door and asked as if to confirm, "Officer, can I really leave now?"

The policeman nodded. "You can go home now, but you need to come back tomorrow to resolve this matter."

Wen Shu nodded. "Thank you."

She no longer trusts anyone.

She slowly moved to the hall and leaned against the wall to relieve the soreness and numbness in her legs.

Li Duo came over to help her, but Wen Shu warily avoided his hand. "Mr. Li, I'm very grateful that you've allowed me to go home, but..."

"Now I know the power of authority, and I know I can't afford to offend you. I know I was wrong. Can you please let me and my family go?"

Li Duo stared expressionlessly into her eyes. At that moment, she was like a frightened wild animal, filled with despair, helplessness, and fear, pushing her to the brink of collapse.

He knew, of course, how scared and desperate she was.

This was her second time coming in, so of course she was scared.

But as she said, Wanwan is his niece.

He had been breastfed by Wanwan's mother, had treated his half-sister as his mother, and had promised Li Yuexin on his deathbed that he would take care of her two children.
