Chapter 41 Rescue

The clicking sound ended.

Ye Yunniang walked over to Wen Nuan and reached out a hand to help her up.

"Ah." Warm tears streamed down her face from the pain.

Ye Yunniang thought she had hurt Wen Nuan and was about to ask her what was wrong.

I heard a clear child's voice, "Crying, ugly." Then came giggles.

Ye Yunniang looked down and saw Jiang Tingjun's small hand poking at the broken part of Wen Nuan's arm.

Ye Yunniang wrapped her hand around Jiang Tingjun's and pulled it back.

"I'm sorry, young master," Ye Yunniang wanted to say, "the young master is ignorant."

But seeing Jiang Tingjun about to reach out his other hand to poke her, Ye Yunniang couldn't bring herself to say it.

She took two steps back, reached out and patted Jiang Tingjun's little bottom twice, reminding her little master not to cause trouble.

"Crying, ugly, ugly..."

She took a deep breath to suppress the pain, listening to Jiang Tingjun say she was ugly.

She gritted her teeth and said, "I've realized it. Your child is a little devil. He's happy when others cry, and even happier when I get hurt."

Warm words made Ye Yunniang feel awkward, unsure how to explain herself.

Actually, Ye Yunniang also had a feeling that Jiang Tingjun seemed to have a bit of a feeling too. How should I put it?

Well, I guess you could call it a perverse sense of humor.

Ye Yunniang offered another dry apology.

"I'm sorry." He took out the steamed bun he had hidden in his arms and handed it to Wen Nuan as compensation.

Wen Nuan accepted the gift without ceremony and instructed Ye Yunniang to find two sticks.

"Okay." Ye Yunniang searched the room thoroughly and found only a stick, the one she had wanted to pick up earlier.

With Wen Nuan's guidance, Ye Yunniang tied her arms.

"Thank you," Wen Nuan said warmly, then picked up the cornbread and started eating.

Ye Yunniang walked to the basket and picked up the other cornbread that had fallen to the ground.

Give one to each person so they can have something to eat first.

"It's too hard, I don't want to eat it. I want steamed egg custard." A chubby little boy dressed in silk took a bite, couldn't chew it, angrily threw it away, and it rolled to Wen Nuan's feet.

"There's only cornbread left. If you don't eat, you'll go hungry." Wen Nuan picked up the cornbread and stuffed it into her arms.

"Eat." Jiang Tingjun was curious and wanted to eat.

Ye Yunniang broke off a small piece and put it near his mouth, letting him try taking a small bite.

I tried it, and it wasn't good.

Jiang Tingjun refused to eat anymore. He watched the other children, who were older than him, eat.

Seeing how hard they were trying to eat, Jiang Tingjun smiled again.

This child, I really don't know what to say?

Looking out the window, I saw it was getting late. I wondered if the Jiang family had discovered the child was missing.

Thanks to the intervention of certain individuals, Jin Huifang is currently unaware that her child is missing. She is currently exchanging pleasantries with close friends and family.

When Li'er discovered that Ye Yunniang was missing, she remembered that Ye Yunniang had said that she would visit her family when she had time.

Pear thought Ye Yunniang had gone to find her family and didn't pay any attention.

Whether intentionally or unintentionally, Ye Yunniang and Jiang Tingjun disappeared without the Jiang family's knowledge.

After struggling to finish their cornbread, the children sat close together with Ye Yunniang and Wen Nuan, keeping each other warm.

Bang! The door was kicked open again.

Wang Dachui walked in with several strong young men.

"Arrest him," Wang Dachui said, shaking out the sack in his hand.

Several vicious dogs pounced on the lamb.

What are you trying to do?

"Let go of me."

"Don't arrest me."

"Let me go! Parents, save me!"

...

Ye Yunniang and Wen Nuan, as the only two adults, wanted to protect the children behind them.

They were too weak, and as a result, each of them was knocked unconscious with a single chop to the neck.

Before fainting, Ye Yunniang held Jiang Tingjun tightly in her arms, who was crying incessantly.

Ye Yunniang and the others were stuffed into sacks and thrown into the vehicle like cargo.

The car departed, heading towards the next gathering point.

The car drove away, and the people who had been hiding came out. These people split into two groups: one group went into the house to arrest the people, and the other group followed the car.

Ye Yunniang woke up groggily, and the sound of the carriage rolling made her guess that she must be inside the carriage.

"Young master," Ye Yunniang said, "I want to get up."

My neck hurts so much, I couldn't help but cry out.

"Don't move." A familiar voice rang in Ye Yunniang's ears.

Ye Yunniang looked up and met Jiang Mingzhe's gaze, who was looking down.

"Second Master, something's happened to the young master! He's been kidnapped by human traffickers! Go and save him!" Ye Yunniang said, struggling to get up, her legs giving way and she almost fell back into the carriage.

"Xiao Liu is alright, someone is taking care of her." Jiang Mingzhe reassured Ye Yunniang, poured her a glass of water, and fed it to her.

Ye Yunniang gulped down her drink in two gulps. "Wen Nuan and the children? How are they? Have the traffickers been caught? I heard the traffickers say that their leader is going to catch 100..." Ye Yunniang told Jiang Mingzhe everything she knew, hoping that he would catch the traffickers and reunite the abducted children with their families.

"The abducted children have all been rescued by the government. The traffickers have been imprisoned in the prefectural jail. The newly appointed prefect, Lord Bao Min, is a man who hates evil and will surely bring the traffickers to justice."

Upon hearing this, Ye Yunniang breathed a sigh of relief. Her body went limp and she collapsed.

Jiang Mingzhe reached out and pulled her into his arms, his face stern. "Do you know what you did wrong?"

"What did I do wrong?" Ye Yunniang asked, puzzled as to why Jiang Mingzhe was asking this.

Ye Yunniang was turned around and lay on Jiang Mingzhe's lap.

Snap snap snap...

Ye Yunniang's eyes widened; she had been spanked. Both ashamed and angry, in her haste, she called out her name.

"Jiang Mingzhe, let me go."

"Say it, do you know you were wrong?" Jiang Mingzhe was still hitting him.

The car was filled with the sounds of slapping and popping.

Ye Yunniang felt she couldn't face anyone anymore.

"What did I do wrong?" Ye Yunniang really didn't know what she had done wrong. "Give me a hint."
