Chapter 44 Blood Transfusion "Fu Huaizhi is in trouble."...

That was 54 days after Song Luoyun lost contact with Fu Huaizhi.

When Denise finished class, she sent her a news article with the headline: "Major Reshuffle in the Fu Family: The Candidate's Ruthless Methods Are Well-Deserved."

The link led to a five-minute video, which Song Luoyun watched while squatting outside the lab door.

Unsurprisingly, it refers to Fu Huaizhi.

As one of the two candidates for the Fu family, Fu Huaizhi was superior to Fu Qiaosheng in all aspects and should have been in the running for victory, but the current head of the family has not yet announced his abdication.

It is said that the current head of the family is dissatisfied with Fu Huaizhi's style and even plans to select from the fourth generation of descendants to remove Fu Huaizhi from his position.

However, after years of navigating dangers and hardships, Fu Huaizhi had long been dissatisfied with the family head and the family's business model. So he secretly founded a brand new company and transferred the core members of the Fu family to another company. The team developed rapidly, while some of the Fu family's industrial lines were almost paralyzed. For a long time, the subsidiary took advantage of the Fu family's booming development. It was not until the momentum overshadowed the Fu family that the other members of the Fu family realized it.

The patriarch was furious upon learning this news, but it was too late. With Fu Huaizhi holding more power than the entire Fu family, he had no choice but to either relinquish his position as patriarch or the Fu family would become history.

The result was obvious: Fu Huaizhi won and became the new head of the family.

What followed was a power struggle within the Fu family.

Those who were previously on good terms with Fu Huaizhi, such as Fu Yuxuan, the son of the second branch of the Fu family, became the largest shareholder. The entire second branch could rely on him without any worries. However, the rest of the group that originally stood with Fu Qiaosheng were all swept out and removed from the name of the Fu family.

Denise casually commented: 【Wow, he's awesome!】

She's been learning Chinese with Song Luoyun lately, and she's picked up a few local phrases from someone, which she keeps saying.

Song Luoyun replied: 【It's fine.】

Denise: [If you hadn't broken up with him, you'd be a rich wife now, second only to the emperor, so awesome!]

Song Luoyun laughed: [Who taught you Chinese this time?]

Denise: [He's a classmate in our group, but that's not important. I feel like he did this for you.]

Song Luoyun casually typed out: "[I don't have that kind of ability.]"

Denise's next words came: "[The moment Fu Qiaosheng started having ulterior motives towards you, Fu Huaizhi took his position away. And have you considered that after he took over, the entire Fu family's rules changed!]"

She posted another update about the new rules for the Fu family.

The first thing Fu Huai did upon taking office was to abolish all the old rules and regulations of the Fu family, prohibit family punishment, abandon the solemn atmosphere of the Fu family manor, abolish restrictions on power, allow women to enter the main hall and sit in the main seat, and promote free love.

Denise: [If it weren't for you, why would it create so many new regulations for women's rights?]

Song Luoyun complained: "Every time I see all these rules and regulations of the Fu family, I wonder if I'm living in ancient times."

Drnise: [Me too, but doesn't this mean the principles the Fu family has upheld for so many years have been broken? If it's for you, then you're so cool!]

Song Luoyun: [He was only acting for himself; such a meticulous operation couldn't have been accomplished overnight.]

Denise: [So what do you think? Aren't you even slightly tempted?]

Song Luoyun: [I hope the project can be completed smoothly and my studies can go smoothly.]

Song Luoyun stood up and stomped her legs until they went numb from squatting.

Just as I was about to tell Denise I was going back to the lab, another message popped up on the screen.

From Fu Qiaoying.

She posted a picture showing her house in complete disarray, with several workers helping her move.

Song Luoyun: [I saw the news. Are you alright?]

Fu Qiaoying: [That's great, we won't lack money no matter what, we just need to control our spending.]

Song Luoyun: [You guys were kicked out by Fu Huaizhi too?]

Fu Qiaoying: [Not really, but now that the Fu family has changed hands, these things were bound to happen sooner or later. It just so happens that someone was interested in my villa at the beginning of this month, so I'll sell it and move to a smaller place.]

Song Luoyun: [I thought you guys could still stay.]

Fu Qiaoying: [My dad's a good-for-nothing. Nobody wants to keep someone like that around. If you were still with Fu Huaizhi, I might ask you to plead for him, but right now I don't want you going to him. We have a small company; that's enough.]

Song Luoyun smiled: "You know that's good, I can't save you."

Fu Qiaoying: [I won't make things difficult for you. By the way, I found a lot of unopened books when I moved; I'll send them to you in a while.]

Song Luoyun: [Keep this for yourself.]

Fu Qiaoying: [I don't have the artistic talent, and besides, I'm going to be looking for a job soon, so I'm even less inclined to read.]

With Fu Huaizhi's rise to power, the entire Fu family was bustling with activity, undergoing dramatic changes.

It had no effect on Song Luoyun.

She could roughly guess that the reason Fu Huaizhi hadn't contacted her during this time was because he was dealing with family matters, but even after things settled down, he still didn't appear, remaining quiet and obedient.

Before we knew it, it was spring again. The leaves that had grown so lush they were crowding through the window have turned green. There are more sunny days than cloudy days. We can take off our heavy winter coats and dress as we please.

Song Luoyun bought a new diary and opened it to the first page.

Her habit of keeping a diary stopped when she lost her last notebook. At that time, she was in a hurry to leave Fu Huaizhi's house and left many things behind, including her diary.

She only liked what she used to have, and when she lost it, she also lost the desire to write in her diary, so she hadn't recorded her life for a long time.

But she found that her mindset had also changed. What was lost should be let go. The diary contained countless negative things at the end, which should be forgotten as well.

On the first page, she wrote a diary entry.

From a conversation with a classmate to seeing a stray cat in the bushes at night, they are all ordinary little things.

Her life was rich, but when she closed her diary, she always felt something was missing; it was empty and lacked content.

A few days later, Fu Qiaoying suddenly ran to Peking University, carrying several shopping bags, and stuffed them into Song Luoyun's drawer.

Song Luoyun noticed that there wasn't even a book among those things, and asked her curiously, "What are you doing?"

Fu Qiaoying pulled up a stool, sat cross-legged on it, and said with great delight, "Come on, I know everything."

Song Luoyun was completely confused: "What do you mean?"

“You went to see Fu Huaizhi, how could I not know?” Fu Qiaoying said.

Song Luoyun thought for a long time: "When did I go to see him?"

Fu Qiaoying sat up, tilted her head to look at her, and thought for a long time.

Finally, I asked her, "You really didn't go?"

Song Luoyun almost confused herself: "Why should I go?"

Fu Qiaoying curled her hair, tilted her head to look at the wall, and said, "That's strange. You know, yesterday Fu Huaizhi suddenly came to my house and talked to my dad a lot. In the end, he decided to give him the shares of Fu's Group."

Song Luoyun looked at her: "Then you don't need to move out of the Fu family?"

"Yes! We're moving back tomorrow. I'm still the eldest daughter of the Fu family." Fu Qiaoying became more and more excited as she spoke. "I thought you were the one pleading for me, but it turns out you weren't. Then why is he suddenly being so kind? Has he been possessed?"

Song Luoyun said, "He may need someone to help him share the burden."

“I don’t know, but my dad said something’s not right with him,” Fu Qiaoying said. “Now, the person with the largest share in Fu’s Group is Fu Yuxuan. Fu Huaizhi didn’t have many shares left to begin with, and they’ve been distributed to many people. As a result, his influence is getting smaller and smaller.”

"And he was in very bad condition yesterday. His eyes were completely lifeless. My dad said he almost thought he was making his final arrangements. It was terrifying."

Song Luoyun frowned slightly: "What's wrong with him lately?"

"I don't know, but it's possible he's just too tired. You know, with such a big upheaval in the Fu family, he definitely couldn't get a proper rest."

Song Luoyun smiled. He didn't have the typical traits of an ordinary person, so it was normal for his emotions to show in his posture.

Fu Qiaoying held Song Luoyun's hand and shook it, her face still showing undisguised joy: "Although you said it wasn't you who helped me, I know very well that Fu Huaizhi let my family go because of you. He probably knows that you and I are close, and he wanted to take the opportunity to curry favor with you."

Song Luoyun swayed with her, but the smile remained on her face, not in her eyes.

Even she didn't know what she was thinking. It wasn't until Fu Qiaoying got up and waved to her several times at the door that she realized what was happening.

...

After seeing Fu Qiaoying off, Song Luoyun sent a message to Denise.

She said that nothing should have happened to Fu Huaizhi, otherwise she would probably have been the first person summoned.

Song Luoyun breathed a sigh of relief, but couldn't help searching online for content related to Fu Huaizhi.

The information we get is always limited: the youngest person in power is ruthless and has a handsome appearance. Such a person will always be the subject of discussion, and countless people envy his fiancée, with whom he was once rumored to be engaged.

Not wanting to look at these anymore, Song Luoyun turned her phone face down and opened the book.

She often felt that she was a very contradictory person; when they were together, she only wanted to escape, but after they separated, she couldn't completely cut ties.

Life was never truly peaceful.

The next day, Song Luoyun left the evening self-study classroom and walked alone at night. Suddenly, she realized that there was a figure following her. She stopped, but it didn't move.

I quickened my pace, ran a few steps, and then looked back. His figure had disappeared, but the grass beside me was swaying.

Without time to think, she entered the dormitory building, hid behind the door, and gasped for breath.

Looking back outside, there was no one there, as if it were just an illusion.

That evening, Song Luoyun asked Denise to accompany her to and from get out of class.

Denise comforted her and agreed, but the next day, she suddenly disappeared and didn't answer her phone.

Song Luoyun clutched her bag and followed a senior student out of the dark area. She didn't bump into anyone behind her, but she always felt someone following her as the bushes swayed.

When I got back to my dorm, Denise wasn't there. I called her but she didn't answer.

Song Luoyun sensed something was wrong.

Denise always keeps her promises; she doesn't usually break her word, and she certainly wouldn't lose contact with her for so long.

She glanced at her seat. The desk was tidy, and next to it was a drawer that she hadn't had time to close in her rush to class that morning. She hadn't been back; everything looked exactly as it had when she left that morning.

A bad feeling crept into my heart.

As she was thinking of a solution, her phone suddenly vibrated, startling her so much that she picked it up.

It was Fu Qiaoying calling.

The call had barely connected when the voice on the other end came through.

"Fu Huaizhi is in trouble!"

Author's Note: Regarding updates, I've been extremely busy with work lately, dealing with various unexpected situations every day. I can only squeeze in a few hundred words to write each day. Plus, the main story is nearing its end, and this part is particularly difficult to write; I'm experiencing writer's block, making it hard to guarantee daily updates.

Things will get better after the holiday in a couple of days; I should be able to finish the main text during the National Day holiday.

Thank you to everyone who has been following along!
