Wood seemed very surprised, and his usually calm expression fluctuated slightly. It took him a while to come back to his senses.
Looking at the people around the girl, he knew that trouble was brewing. But, there was nowhere to hide, right?
He calmly welcomed Loran Hill into the house. There was only a bed, a table and two stools in the small room.
After taking a quick look, Loran Hill seemed to have realized something, turned around and introduced himself.
"I am the current owner of the Carites Chamber of Commerce, Lacey."
"Hello, Lady Lacey." The Wood, who was in his twenties or thirties, was wearing brown clothes and bowed his head slightly.
"Don't worry, I have no ill intentions. I just want to know more about Grete."
Wood thought for a moment and replied.
"Grete is my fellow countryman. Things have been tough in Need County in recent years. We both came to the South to survive, but I don't really know that much about him."
Loran Hill looked at the man in front of her and knew that he was lying because she had discovered a lot of clues since she came in.
But you can't blame him, after all, his job does require hiding.
After asking everyone else to leave and stay away from the small house, Loran Hill closed the door. In the dim room, only a few rays of light shone obliquely on the floor through the gaps in the window. Occasionally, shouts from the dock not far away could be heard in the quiet room.
"I know what you're worried about, but I still have to repeat, I have no ill intentions. On the contrary, I come here with good intentions."
Following the girl's voice, she drew a star pattern on the table with her fingers.
"Grete's comrade, Mr. Wood."
