Chapter 265 Winter Reunion

"It's so cold!" Alena opened the door of the dormitory with shaking arms and walked in covered in snow.

"Meow~"

An orange cat emerged from the neck of her coat and carefully surveyed the hallway. Loran Hill was cooking dinner in the kitchen, while Nia was cleaning the room.

After taking off her snow-stained coat and placing it on a nearby shelf, the cat jumped out and ran straight to the bedroom. Aliena said hello to Nia, then trotted all the way to the kitchen and hugged Loran Hill, who was wearing an apron.

"Woo, I miss you, Loran~" Alena buried her head behind Loran Hill and rubbed it constantly.

Luo Lanxier struggled to break free from Alena's embrace with a hint of disgust, and then said unhappily, "You missed the meal I cooked, didn't you?"

"Hehehehe~" Alena smiled innocently, then looked at the food simmering in the pot. White, transparent chunks mixed with slightly springy meat tumbled in the hot broth, emitting a strange aroma.

"What is this?"

"This is mutton and radish soup." Loran Hill quickly chopped the green onions and put them into the pot. Then, after thinking for a while, he picked up the small bottle on the kitchen shelf and poured a little pepper into it.

"Mutton..." Alena looked at Nia who walked into the kitchen, and asked in a low voice.

"Won't Niya be angry?"

"I'm going to get angry if you say that." Niya has become much more cheerful this semester and is no longer as timid as before. She pulled Alena out.

"Okay, don't disturb Sister Loran from cooking. Just wait outside." Alena was pushed out reluctantly by Nia.

"Niya, you have changed..." Alena said hypocritically.

"You are not the Niya you used to be. The Niya you used to be was so well-behaved..."

"I'm sorry for causing such a big misunderstanding, Alena. I was always wrong before." As the two walked into the hall, the orange cat also came over, rubbing against Niya's feet and meowing.

"Be good~" Niya picked up the calico cat and sat at the table. Then warm ripples appeared around her body. The kitten lay comfortably in her arms, rubbing its claws against Niya's light gray collar.

Compared to the first half of the year, Niya's winter outfit was more attractive: a light gray top, a gray-red velvet skirt, and thick stockings. As a transcendent skilled in fire, she wasn't particularly afraid of the cold; instead, her body felt warmer.

"I want one too." Alena leaned on Niya, teasing the orange cat, and the coldness in her body slowly dissipated.

"When did Nia arrive?"

"I arrived this morning. Sister Loran arrived yesterday. Only Letis hasn't come yet." Nia answered briefly.

"Did Niya's holiday mission go smoothly? Lily and I put in a lot of effort. That guy is too timid and keeps running around." Alena complained about her teammates in a low voice, recalling the happy holiday, with a hint of lightness in her voice.

"It's okay for me. It's mainly because of the help from sister Luo Lan." Niya recalled the holiday, and her brows relaxed slightly.

Alena turned around and looked at Nia. "It's a bit strange. Why is Nia following Kafla's lead and calling Luo Lan "Sister?" Luo Lan is about the same age as us, right?

"Because Roland is really...good." Niya explained in a low voice, as if she remembered something, and finally used only the word "good".

"Okay, let's not worry about that for now..."

The door lock rang, and a blonde girl pushed the door open. She was wearing a light yellow velvet winter skirt and had a graceful figure. She took off the hood on her head, pulled her long golden spiral hair out of the hat, and let out a breath.

"Letithi, you're finally back." Alena and Nia leaned together and watched the blonde lady walk into the house.

"Is everyone back?" Letty said as she walked, then put the box behind her in the room.

"Well, Luo Lan is cooking in the kitchen." Niya nodded, and this time she didn't add a suffix.

"Phew, that's great. I can eat what Roland made soon." Lettice dragged a box into the hall and opened it, revealing an exquisite brass shell.

"What is this?" Aliena asked with a little curiosity.

"This is a new invention of our faction, called a 'recirculating radiator'."

The alchemical creation made of brass looked like a rectangular block from the outside, with slanted openings like shutters on both sides, and two circular holes with mesh at the front and back.

Lettice twisted the round bolt on top, then pressed the gem on the surface and input a burst of magic power, and a slight sound came from inside.

Looking through the mesh-covered hole, it seems that there are fan blades rotating constantly inside, and then warm air flows out of the hole and circulates continuously in the room.

"This seems to be very useful." Alena came over with great interest, squatted beside it, and watched it operate.

"Does it consume magic power?" she continued to ask.

"With Magic Sequence 3, using half the magic power, it can operate for a whole day and night. With Magic Sequence 2, one night is barely enough."

"Is that so?" Aliena said softly.

"It doesn't seem very useful. There are only a few extraordinary people, and they have to be in the magic sequence."

"But as long as someone injects magic power into it, it will be very comfortable to use." Lettice explained its advantages with a little dissatisfaction.

"Even if a flame-type transcendent maintains the perfect temperature, it will still be very tiring. If they doze off, it could easily cause a fire. Furthermore, it would be awkward to have someone standing in the bedroom while you sleep. This makes it much more convenient, and you can carry it with you."

Just as Alena and Letty were arguing about whether this new creation was practical, Loranhill finally prepared dinner and brought out the pots and bowls with the help of Nia.

"Alright, alright, come eat, two little pigs."

"Okay~"

The four people and one cat in the dormitory gathered together again, eating dinner happily. From time to time, the clear sound of knives, forks, bowls and chopsticks colliding could be heard. White hot steam emerged from the casserole and rose to the ceiling. The transparent glass on the window was also covered with a layer of white mist. The noisy room was extremely warm, while outside the window, the wind was cold, snowflakes were flying, and bursts of whistling could be heard from time to time.

Aliena drank a mouthful of hot soup and felt completely refreshed. "What a pleasant evening."

"Well, but there won't be many days like this." Lettice was not as carefree as before, but instead had some worries.

"What's wrong?" Alena asked curiously.

"Well... nothing. I mean the end-of-year promotion assessment is coming soon. Are you all ready to go to which academy?" Lettice shook her head slightly, picked up a piece of radish, and said slowly.

"You and I will definitely go to the Overlook Tower in the north. It depends on Roland and Nia."

"I will go to the Lakeside Castle." Then Luo Xier will go to the Temple of Meditation in the west, Luo Lanxier thought to himself.

"I choose the Unfallen Bridge Pier, the War Sequence." Niya read out slowly in a low voice.

"Huh?" ×3
