Chicken feet delivery, what's not to like?
...A male classmate brought over a bottle of baijiu (Chinese liquor), poured himself a glass, then poured one for me, looking at me defiantly, "If you're a man, drink it."
With a calm smile, I picked up the cup, drank it all in one gulp without changing my expression, then picked up the bottle, poured some more, drank it all in one gulp, then poured some more, shook the bottle in my hand, and looked at him.
"Shall we continue?" I asked, looking at the empty cup in my hand.
The other person's face was already turning purple. After downing three glasses of baijiu, someone without a high alcohol tolerance simply couldn't handle it. Drinking baijiu with me would be nothing short of slapping themselves in the face.
Before anyone could answer, the child ran out and vomited. The others didn't dare to make a move. Wang Ling came over and said, "Alright, don't take it to heart. You should drink less too."
The group started making a scene again, and their voices could be heard on the street outside. If it weren't for Wang Ling's sake, I would have left long ago.
Just then, a few cars pulled up in front of the restaurant, and a few well-dressed people got out and walked towards us. I assumed they were looking for us, so I didn't pay much attention.
Unexpectedly, these people walked right up to me, smiling as they offered me cigarettes and a business card. "Master Liu, our boss would like to invite you to come over and take a look at the feng shui. Is now a convenient time for you?"
"Hey, isn't that Mr. Huang, the richest man in the county?" someone whispered.
"It's evening now, I can't watch it, let's do it tomorrow."
"The boss said that the feng shui can be taken slowly. He'd like to invite you over for a chat and ask for your advice on some things to keep in mind in daily life. What do you think?"
I didn't want to stay here any longer, so I simply agreed and followed a few people out. Behind me, I vaguely heard someone asking Wang Ling, "Your boyfriend isn't the one who even the chairman of Tianyu Group came to see, is he?"
I knew this Mr. Huang before, when I met him at a dinner with county leaders, but we had never really dealt with each other. I heard that he is very good at doing business, quick-witted, and in short, he is not someone that ordinary people can compare to.
I arrived at his house in about ten minutes, and Boss Huang hurriedly welcomed me inside. “Master Liu, I’ve been wanting to invite you over for a long time. Today I heard from Deputy Director Guo of the county that you came to the county, so I wanted to invite you over for a visit.”
The tea had been served. After sitting for a while, Mr. Huang said with a smile, "Come, Master Liu, come with me to take a look at my new house. What do you think? And please give me some pointers on the feng shui."
This is a villa built in a mountain resort. The residents here are either government officials or business owners. Boss Huang's villa is considered the best among them, both in terms of its location, size, and surrounding environment.
I casually mentioned a few words to him, saying that I would come back another day to take a proper look, as it was late at night and there was no point in discussing feng shui now.
Mr. Huang was very happy and had someone drive me back. Tonight, of course, I'll stay at a hotel in the county. I originally thought Wang Ling would go back with her female classmate, but she called and asked me to pick her up, carrying several bags of things.
When we arrived at the restaurant, the group had just finished eating, and most of them were quite drunk. Wang Ling was still chatting with a few classmates when she pulled me over and said, "Liu Zhihua, my classmate also wants you to read his fortune. Can you do it?"
"I'm not good at this. I only do feng shui, not face reading."
"Just let them take a look, even just a quick glance is fine. They all trust you a lot," Wang Ling said, looking at me pitifully. The other female classmates also looked at me pitifully.
As the saying goes, it's hardest to accept the kindness of a beautiful woman. They may not be considered beauties, but they are still pretty. "Okay, okay, I'll just say a few words."
"Ahem, actually, everyone has their own destiny, and everyone has their own fate to arrange. It just depends on how you grasp it. The amount of life you have determines how much fortune you have. It depends on how you treat it and make choices. Don't think about getting something for nothing all day long and marrying a rich man."
"Now you should understand, right? It's best to try to calculate your fate as little as possible. The more you know, the more disappointed you might be. Just let nature take its course."
"cut".
"cut",
I shook my head and smiled helplessly. "Believe it or not, it's getting late, let's go back!"
Carrying a few bags, I took a taxi to the hotel. I booked two rooms and told Wang Ling to go to sleep early, as I was also tired. I had arranged to go to the Qiang ethnic minority area in western Sichuan with Xiang Fei tomorrow.
Two days later, I sent Wang Ling home and met up with Xiang Fei in town. This time it was just the two of us. We only brought clothes and some food, and a small bag was enough. Xiang Fei also told me to bring the Soul-Suppressing Lamp, saying that we might need it there.
Take a bus to the city first, then transfer directly to Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture. This is currently the largest settlement of the Qiang people, and they have the largest population here. There are also some Qiang people scattered in several other places.
We arrived in the afternoon, found a place to stay, and planned to go to the Qiang ethnic group early the next morning.
In Aba Prefecture, the main ethnic groups are Tibetans and Qiang, with a small number of Han Chinese. Of course, we will go to the Qiang settlements, namely Maoxian and Wenchuan.
This place is located in northwestern Sichuan, near the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The temperature is much colder than in southern Sichuan, and there is also altitude sickness. There are mountains everywhere, but the scenery is quite beautiful. This trip was also a good opportunity for sightseeing.
When I first arrived here, I was a little unaccustomed to it and experienced some altitude sickness. It got cold very quickly, so I put on a down jacket. Fortunately, there are quite a few Han Chinese people here now, so language is not a problem, and there is food that suits my taste.
After dinner, we took a walk around. Since we went directly to Maoxian, we planned to start from there and then go to Wenchuan.
