If they were just hanging there, they might not have made much of a difference. But those dolls were all hanging there with neck straps. And they were all the same—smiling dolls!

Su Mo swallowed hard and said, "Brother Bai, were there children living here before?"

Sister Bai nodded and said, "Right? Okay, there's nothing else to see, let's go!"

As soon as Sister Bai entered the courtyard, the salesperson from before rushed over: "Mr. Lin, as you instructed, we've cut down the trees!"

Sister Bai nodded and smiled, "Thank you, but you should tell the workers to dig up the roots. Oh, by the way, what are you going to do with those two trees?"

"These two trees are quite old; they should fetch some money at the timber market. Cough cough, Mr. Lin, if you've already bought them, I'll bring them to you." Being a real estate agent isn't easy these days. I was originally thinking of selling those two trees to make some extra money, but I didn't expect Sister Bai to ask about them.

To the sales clerk's surprise, Sister Bai said with an extremely serious expression, "Those two trees absolutely cannot be sold. Take them to a secluded place and burn them! Remember, use dry firewood, not gasoline!"

The workers started digging up the tree roots, and Sister Bai wasn't supervising. After rearranging the furniture with Qian Xiaohao, Su Mo started cleaning the tools in the house.

It was late at night when everything was finished, and Sister Bai was so tired she didn't want to move. But looking at the house, she was genuinely satisfied. She never imagined that after coming to this world, she would actually be able to buy a house of her own with her own money!

Later, Su Mo prepared dinner. After dinner, everyone was tired from the day, so they took a shower and went back to their rooms to rest.

Night deepened, and the house was quiet. Sister Bai didn't stay up late, nor did she turn on the computer. She lay in bed with her eyes closed, whether asleep or simply resting, it was unclear.

Time ticked by, and Bai Jie finally heard a sound. It must be someone getting up to use the restroom; judging from the footsteps, it was probably Su Mo, since Qian Xiaohao's gait was heavy and forceful.

Xiao Zhen, inside the ring, sensed that Sister Bai wasn't asleep, so she asked, "Brother Bai, what are you worried about?"

Sister Bai hummed in agreement and said, "Do you see that doll in my room?"

Xiao Zhen floated out, looked at the doll on the cabinet in Sister Bai's room, and said, "Is there something wrong with this doll?"

"That's bait. I'm waiting for the fish to bite," Sister Bai said calmly. Xiao Zhen understood what Sister Bai meant and said, "Should I stand guard outside?"

"No need, I want to take a look first. Besides, if you and Chu Renmei come out, it'll probably scare it away!"

Xiao Zhen nodded and returned to the Soul-Sealing Ring, while Sister Bai closed her eyes again and began to wait.

Just as he closed his eyes, a high-pitched scream came from inside the room: "Ah...ah...ah!"

Upon hearing the voice, Sister Bai knew it was Su Mo. Her expression changed drastically, and she inwardly cried out in alarm. She quickly got up, opened the door, and rushed out.

Su Mo huddled in the corner of the bathroom, her face pale and trembling. When she saw Sister Bai arrive, she burst into tears and hugged her tightly.

"Brother Bai... Waaah... Just now... Just now there was a little girl!"

Su Mo was genuinely crying, clinging to Sister Bai without letting go for a second. Sister Bai understood Su Mo's feelings perfectly; imagine herself in the bathroom, suddenly a little girl running out in the middle of the night—no wonder Su Mo was terrified!

Sister Bai patted her shoulder and comforted her, "It's alright now, get up, I'll take you back to your room!"

Su Mo nodded, sobbing. Sister Bai then said to Qian Xiaohao, who was standing outside, "Xiaohao, you should go to sleep too. Remember to stick the Soul-Suppressing Talisman on your body."

Qian Xiaohao replied and left, and then Sister Bai took Su Mo back to her room. Feeling Sister Bai's warm, broad hand, Su Mo's wildly beating heart began to slowly calm down.
