The underworld is doing the work! (Edited)

"Hey, Commander He, you've been calling one phone after another this morning. Are you up to something again?" Sister Bai asked, speechless.

Commander He on the other end of the phone immediately coughed and laughed, "Ahem, Master Lin, the sun's already high in the sky, it's not early at all!"

Hearing Commander He's tone, Sister Bai said speechlessly, "Can I enjoy the same treatment as a normal person? Everyone else is sleeping soundly every night, but what about me? I'm solving a case, and I could lose my life if I'm not careful. Can't I even sleep in to recharge?"

"Alright, alright, but Master Lin, I called you to ask you to go somewhere fun, it's really not about solving a case!" Commander He said with a smile. Sister Bai shrugged helplessly and said, "Where to go? Are there any pretty girls?"

"Uh, yes, we have them, from ancient times to the present, from all over the world!" Commander He said after thinking for a moment. Sister Bai rolled her eyes and laughed, "Keep it up! Ancient times to the present, from all over the world? Are you trying to drag me to see female zombies?"

"There wasn't a female zombie, but the city museum sent over a male and a female corpse this time. The most amazing thing is that they've been dead for over two hundred years, yet their bodies are still very well preserved, and the woman was even a foreigner!"

As soon as Commander He finished speaking, Sister Bai suddenly sat up in bed, her face full of surprise!

Chapter 81 A Corpse That Has Remained Unchanged for Two Hundred Years!

Sister Bai encountered a zombie that was nearly two hundred years old in 2442. That zombie was the one that Mao Jiu and Zhong Li had created and refined into a puppet zombie!

But the fact that the mummy was still so well-preserved after more than two hundred years naturally surprised Sister Bai. However, she thought that a mummy was just a mummy, after all; it couldn't possibly be like a human, could it?

Thinking of this, Sister Bai said to Commander He, who was waiting for her reply, "Okay, Commander He, I'll get up now. Wait for me for a moment."

After hanging up with Commander He, Sister Bai got up to wash up. Seeing that Sister Bai was up so early today, Su Mo thought of asking, "Brother Bai, did the sun rise in the west today?"

"Um, Commander He just called me and asked me to go to the museum with him," Sister Bai replied. Su Mo immediately perked up and said, "To the museum! I want to go too! I love experiencing culture!"

"I'm going to see the mummies, are you coming too?" Sister Bai turned and glanced at her. Su Mo's expression froze for a moment, but she gritted her teeth and said, "Yes, why wouldn't I go! With you here, I'm not afraid of mummies, or even zombies!"

"Alright then, go ahead and go."

After washing her face and eating something, Sister Bai took Su Mo out, while Qian Xiaohao stayed at home to continue practicing drawing talismans.

Not long after they left, Brigade Commander He came to pick up Sister Bai again. However, this time he didn't come in a military vehicle; instead, he drove a very ordinary private car.

After Sister Bai and Su Mo got into the car, Commander He smiled at Su Mo and asked, "Master Lin is indeed different from other masters. Is this your little girlfriend?"

Su Mo's face immediately turned red, and Sister Bai explained, "Didn't you watch my live stream from Fengmen Village? She's Su Mo, the fastest rising star streamer on Underwater World."

Su Mo glared at Sister Bai, then smiled at Commander He and said, "Hello, Commander He, I am Su Mo."

Commander He nodded, but Sister Bai felt something was off about the way he looked at her and Su Mo. However, she let Commander He guess as he pleased; after resting with her eyes closed for over twenty minutes, they arrived at the city museum.

But upon entering the museum, when Sister Bai saw that there were many reporters inside, she frowned and said, "What is Commander He doing? Are those two mummies on public display?"

“Yes, museums need fame and money too. Heh, the mummies were brought over a few days ago; now that it's publicized, reporters will definitely come.” Commander He said with a faint smile, but Sister Bai shook her head and said:

Too many people are ultimately not a good thing!

Commander He looked at Sister Bai suspiciously, but Sister Bai shook her head to indicate that everything was fine. Because of Commander He's connections, Sister Bai and Su Mo were admitted without being charged. Commander He then led Sister Bai directly to the room where the two mummified corpses were kept, opening the door as he smiled and said:

"Master Lin, you'll see how amazing those two Celestial Masters are when you see them. Over two hundred years! Most people would have turned to dust long ago, but these two are still preserved as if they were alive!"

"What do you mean? You mean their corpses look almost exactly like living people?" Sister Bai immediately frowned. Brigade Commander He nodded and said:

"Yes, and that man and woman were absolutely stunning. However, we can't verify the woman's nationality; we don't know which country she's from! But as you know, over two hundred years ago was the late Qing Dynasty, a time of great turmoil for the country, and many foreigners were also migrating in, so it's not that surprising."

Sister Bai hummed in agreement. Commander He had already opened the door, and as soon as the door opened, a blast of cold air hit them. However, this wasn't some kind of yin energy; it was simply the cold air that prevented the corpse from decomposing.

Su Mo couldn't help but hug her arms and shiver. Commander He said with a wry smile, "I should have told you two to bring a jacket."

Bai Jie and Su Mo both smiled and shook their heads as they went inside. As soon as they entered, Bai Jie saw two ice coffins placed in the center of the room. Inside the ice coffins were two corpses neatly arranged, but when Bai Jie got closer, her eyes widened involuntarily.

No matter what Commander He said before, Sister Bai always felt it was exaggerated. While there were mummies, they were often unrecognizable by the time they were unearthed. Not to mention dried corpses; those experts who claim they must have been beautiful men or women in life—in Sister Bai's opinion, unless you produce a photo of them, it's all nonsense!
