Zhou went to find Fang and, as Chunxiao had suggested, asked Fang to cook for their workers while the house was being built. Fang was to arrange the food and vegetables herself and just report the bill when the time came. The wages would be the same as for the hired workers. Fang agreed readily.

On the afternoon of the third day, Yan Bingfa returned with the brick kiln factory's cars. There were more than ten or twenty cars in a long line, stretching for a long way through the village. Everyone in the village came out to watch the fun, and what they talked about most was that Yan Bingfa had become rich.

Early in the morning of the fourth day, the brick kiln team arrived. Originally, their first thing was to set up a shed nearby as a resting place, but the bamboo shed in Chunxiao's backyard was large enough, which saved them time. All the workers gathered together, and Master Zhong arranged their respective tasks before starting work.

First, they demolished the existing house and dug a new foundation. When the work started, Chunxiao took a look and saw that the place was too messy. She then looked at the cotton field. Although it was messy, it did not occupy her cotton field, so she left with peace of mind.

Now Dongsheng is guarding the cotton fields, and there are a few children watching over them, so she feels relieved.

The cotton has now begun to bloom and the leaves have begun to be infested with insects. Chunxiao told Shuduo to tell the children in the village that they can go to her cotton field to catch insects and feed them to the chickens so that the chickens can grow fat, but the prerequisite is that they must not destroy the cotton field. Ever since they moved the braised meat business back to the village, neighbors from the village came to visit their home every day. While Zhou was busy with various jobs, she also had to deal with those people from the village.

On May 5th, the foundation was finally completed. His father and two brothers spent the rest of their time working on the house, apart from preparing for the sale.

Wangzu and Dongsheng had been incredibly busy lately. Construction work had pulled everyone away from home. In short, the whole family is busy doing things whenever they have time, and they don't have any free time at all.

Some villagers were curious about the houses, others about the cotton fields. Now and then, someone would run to the end of the village to watch. Since so many people were working there, they weren't afraid of being accused of ulterior motives. They just let them be, since they couldn't tell what they were up to anyway. On May 19th, the main structures of all the houses were completed, and Yan Bingfa scheduled the 20th for the beams to be put up.

Uncle Yan has been very happy recently. He has taken on the job of making doors and windows for the family. There are so many houses, and he has to make a lot more things besides the ones he made before. When he moves in, he will definitely have to make a lot of things too. I'm afraid his money for this year's work will be there.

On the 20th, after the beams were installed, the next step was to lay the roof and tiles. The villagers working on the project were envious. This was a real brick and tile house, with eight rooms, spacious and comfortable. But before they could even begin their admiration, they began building the walls the next day. They realized they needed high walls around the large courtyards and paved the interior with stone slabs. This house was far superior to even the village head's house.

The 21st was supposed to be the day to divide the money, but family was too busy and it was inconvenient, so Chunxiao announced that they would wait until the house was ready before dividing it, and the long-term workers' work schedule would be the same. Just when everyone was exhausted and ready to collapse, on May 24th, the house at the end of the village was finally completed. The family was standing in a large courtyard with high walls and walking on bluestone slabs on the ground. They were so excited.

"Grandma, my aunt has so many more rooms here. I can live here in the future."

"Mom, isn't this house bright and spacious? Dad and I have been working so hard on it, and now it looks really good."

"Except for the houses in town, this is the most beautiful house I have ever seen."

Everyone was talking endlessly.
