"Mr. Shang, shall we go?"

Liu Ziye knocked on the door.

Shang Wu snapped out of her daze, picked up the pen, placed it on the table, and went out with him.

On the way, she made a phone call to Zhou Yanci.

When they arrived at the private room in the restaurant, Zhou Yanci had already arrived at the address she had given her.

After meeting with Zhao Yixin and the others, he learned that the Inspectorate was only conducting a routine inquiry and had not mentioned the Shang family case, which put him completely at ease.

Seeing Shang Wu bring in a strange man, Zhou Yanci stood up.

Who is this?

Shang Wu introduced him: "Liu Ziye is the son of a shareholder on President Tang's side. He's been looking for a job recently, so he came to Chengzhou Group to apply for a position and gain experience."

"Yes, I can see that too. President Shang is indeed decisive and efficient," Liu Ziye said with a smile.

Soon, there was another knock on the door of the private room.

The waiter led someone in.

Zhou Yanci was startled and quickly looked at Shang Wu's expression before standing up and saying, "Chenmian, what brings you here?"

Shen Mian didn't notice who the man with his back to her was. When she saw that Shang Wu and Zhou Yanci were both there, a look of surprise appeared in her eyes.

What's going on?

Didn't Shang Wu send her a message asking her to come over and talk to her alone?

"I asked her to come."

Shang Wu got up and pulled Chen Mian over to sit down.

“Although Shen Mian and I don’t get along, she is carrying your child, which will also be my child in the future. I heard that she can only go to a regular hospital to protect the pregnancy recently, and it breaks my heart.”

She took out a VIP card and stuffed it into Chen Mian's hand: "Take this, it's a membership card for the advanced maternity care center, feel free to use it."

Chenmian frowned as she listened.

So this is just them using her to create a sensible and obedient persona to curry favor with Zhou Yanci!

She was feeling irritated when a pair of hands landed on her shoulders.

Shang Wu pressed down on Chen Mian and made her sit opposite Liu Ziye.

"It's all I should do, Yan Ci, please don't stand on ceremony, let's eat."

As Chenmian sat down, she noticed the man opposite her who was looking down.

She asked in confusion, "Who is he?"

Zhou Yanci, who was sitting opposite Liu Ziye, patted him on the back upon hearing this.

"Liu Ziye, the young master of the Liu family, who just joined Chengzhou Group."

Liu Ziye then looked up and smiled at Chenmian.

"Miss Shen, we meet again."

Chenmian froze instantly, then jumped up as if she had seen a ghost, knocking over the teacup on the table in the process.

"It's you!"

The tea spilled onto the table, almost wetting Shang Wu's phone.

Shang Wu picked up her phone, puzzled, and asked, "What's wrong, Chenmian? Do you know Young Master Liu?"

Zhou Yanci looked at the two of them with a puzzled expression.

Chenmian's face was pale, and she swallowed hard: "Before, we met before."

"Met before?" Liu Ziye's face showed a sad expression. "The way you put it is really upsetting. How can it be just 'met before'? We were drinking and booking out venues together all the time not long ago. Have you forgotten all of that?"

Zhou Yanci narrowed her eyes, staring intently at Chen Mian, her suspicion growing: "A private bar for drinks? How come I didn't know? Chen Mian, you have a habit of going to bars? Why didn't you tell me?"

"I, I..."

Chenmian gripped the corner of the table helplessly: "I was just playing around when I was bored, I don't think it's necessary to tell you specifically."

Liu Ziye stroked his chin, giving her a meaningful look: "Yes, Miss Shen is probably just under a lot of pressure and went there to vent. You have no idea, she had a blast with us in the private room, she probably drank..."

"Young Master Liu!"

Chenmian's voice trembled, but she managed to maintain her composure under Zhou Yanci's increasingly displeased gaze.

She turned and left.

Zhou Yanci frowned deeply, and her complexion looked visibly worse.

Shang Wu took in his reaction and said calmly, "I'll go check on her."

She followed him to the restroom.

Chenmian was holding her phone, scrolling through Liu Ziye's contact information, and rapidly tapping the screen to send a message.

I'm warning you! Don't say things you shouldn't, or it will get you into trouble!

Don't mention what happened at the bar to Zhou Yanci again!

If you dare to ruin my relationship with Zhou Yanci, you're dead!

"Are you texting the child's father?"

A sudden sound came from behind, startling Shenmian so much that she trembled and dropped her phone.

Just as she was about to pick up her phone, a foot reached out and stepped on the screen.

Shenmian's face turned ashen, and she finally couldn't hold back any longer, saying, "Shangwu! What exactly do you want to do!"

Shang Wu picked up her phone from the ground, saw the message she had sent to Liu Ziye, and chuckled softly.
