Chapter 94 I thought Shang Wu was dead

Lu Rang took the documents and left.

Standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, Shang Wu watched him drive away in his Lexus. Composing herself, she returned to her desk to work.

Monday is here in the blink of an eye.

Shang Wu sat in the passenger seat next to Zhou Yanci.

The car windows were tightly closed, shutting out the noise from the outside world.

Zhou Yanci rested one hand on the steering wheel, while the other hand reached out flirtatiously, attempting to grab Shang Wu's hand.

"Have you brought all your documents?"

He had that familiar yet loathed smile on his lips. "It would have been so much better if you had done this sooner. Why did you make me say those things? Getting a marriage certificate is supposed to be a happy occasion."

Shang Wu stared straight ahead, remaining silent.

Zhou Yanci no longer cared about her attitude.

He wasn't entirely convinced that Shang Wu and Lu Rang had no romantic relationship.

But so what?

Shangwu belongs to him.

Just like a sleepless night, even after breaking up with him, she still came back and clung to him desperately.

Shang Wu is not a saint, so it doesn't matter if he is attracted to someone else for a moment.

Once she marries him, she won't dare to do such a thing again.

If she honestly acts as Mrs. Zhou, helps him manage the company and make money, then he can turn a blind eye to what's happening now.

Zhou Yanci's eyes darkened slightly as he reminded her, "Awu, I was the one who cleaned up the mess the business was in back then. I believe you won't forget my kindness and won't leave me, right?"

Just as his fingertips were about to touch Shang Wu, she turned her head away.

"Alright, focus on driving."

Shang Wu reminded him to keep his eyes fixed on the flashing countdown traffic light at the intersection ahead.

Her cold, calm eyes were reflected in the glass window.

Deep within her eyes, a chilling hatred flickered.

Zhou Yanci was displeased. He glanced ahead and then stared at her again: "Answer me, you didn't intend to leave me, right?"

"The light is green."

Shang Wu spoke, her voice devoid of any emotion, only a ruthless urging.

The roads were frozen in the cold weather, and there were few vehicles.

Zhou Yanci, feeling rebuffed, chuckled and withdrew his hand, then stepped on the gas.

The engine roared and shot off.

Shang Wu dug her hands, which were placed on her sides, deep into her palms, leaving several crescent-shaped blood marks.

The pain was sharp, but she stared intently at the van that suddenly drove up from the left intersection, a cold smile playing on her lips.

The van instantly sprang into action, like a wild horse, heading straight for Zhou Yanci's driver's side.

"Damn this car..."

Bang!

Before Zhou Yanci could finish her short, terrified words, they were replaced by the dull thud of the van crashing into her.

The whole world spun before Shang Wu's eyes, the immense inertia violently throwing her forward, only to be pulled back tightly by the seatbelt.

A suffocating, dull pain shot through my chest.

The airbags deployed with a "bang".

The dizziness and tinnitus lasted for a few seconds. Shang Wu gasped for breath, brushing aside the messy hair sticking to her face. The strong smell of gasoline and blood instantly filled her nostrils.

She immediately turned her head to look at the driver's seat.

Zhou Yanci slumped in the deformed seat, her forehead resting on the steering wheel, completely still, with only her chest rising and falling slightly.

People gathered around, and the traffic police quickly blew their sirens and whistles to call their colleagues.

The weight on Shang Wu's heart finally lifted.

It's done.

She relaxed, a tearing pain shooting through her inner thigh.

When she was thrown out, her leg must have hit something.

Shang Wu lowered her head and struggled to pry open the broken seatbelt buckle.

The black wide-leg trousers under the coat were now soaked in blood and stuck firmly to his legs. There was a tear in the trousers on the inside of his thigh, revealing a bloodstain that was not deep but long enough.

The skin around the wound was slightly peeling back, and blood was seeping out rapidly.

Shang Wu stared blankly at the wound. The moment the traffic police approached, she decisively closed her eyes and "fainted" to avoid being questioned on the spot.

...

People come and go outside Shang Wu's ward, but their attention is all focused on the room next door.

Zhou Yanci suffered a concussion, and the news caused an uproar in the Zhou family.

Many of Zhou's relatives came, bringing tonics and fruits to visit Zhou Yanci, but no one cared whether she lived or died.

Shang Wu didn't let the hospital notify her parents. She endured the pain alone, leaning against the rocking hospital bed.

The nurse cut off the left leg of the pants, leaving only the upper thigh for easier wound inspection and disinfection. After the wound was cleaned and coated with a cool, transparent ointment, it was still a shocking sight.

Shang Wu reached out to touch it, but the ward door was suddenly pushed open.

The sounds of discussion about the car accident outside were instantly amplified.

She looked up and was momentarily stunned.

Lu Rang stood at the door, wearing a dark gray suit and a lawyer's pass for easy access to the court.

He rushed over from the court hearing that had just ended, his forehead covered with a light layer of sweat. The first thing he did upon entering was to fix his gaze on Shang Wu's legs, his eyes turning into a chilling gaze.

Shang Wu opened her mouth, but no sound came out.

Lu Rang closed the door behind him, shutting out the noise outside, and walked straight to the bedside. His tall figure cast a shadow that completely enveloped Shang Wu.

He said nothing, but stared intently at Shang Wu, his gaze so sharp it seemed he could dissect her.

Shang Wu's heart tightened; she knew he was angry. Instinctively, she tried to pull the blanket over her leg injury.

Before she could even move her finger, Lu Rang was already a step ahead.

He stretched out his right hand, aiming precisely at the scar on the inside of her thigh.

Shang Wu's body tensed instantly, and she caught her breath.

His fingertips were cool, carrying a chill that the outside sun couldn't reach, as he gently touched the unbroken skin at the edge of her wound.

The slightly cool touch made Shang Wu freeze.
