Doctor Song, I'm Just Turning 18

Lin Yue never imagined she'd randomly marry a man she met less than a day before after graduating college.

Ever since she turned 18, her mother went all out introducing her to different m...

Chapter 158 Reunion Night

"If you're feeling really bad, just cry it out. Don't hold it in."

Rong Youze bent slightly, gazing at her with eyes full of tenderness. Seeing her desperately trying to hold back her tears, he felt as if his heart was being torn apart, wishing he could take her pain away from her.

Yunxi gently wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes, blinked her eyes which were so sore they were almost about to burst into tears, and forced out a smile that looked worse than crying. She slowly shook her head.

"I'm fine. It doesn't hurt as much as it used to. Am I making progress?"

Rong Youze nodded repeatedly with heartache, "You're amazing, really amazing!"

"Could I get a reward?"

"Of course, just say the word. As long as you ask, and as long as I have it, I'll give it all to you."

"After the New Year's Eve dinner, come with me to a bar and welcome the New Year with me there."

"I thought you were going to say you wanted to go see male models..."

Yunxi burst into laughter through her tears, "Going to a place like this is only fun with your best girlfriends, I'm not taking you."

Rong Youze smiled slightly, shaking his head with a half-smile, his warm fingertips stroking the corners of her reddened eyes.

Hidden in the crowd, Wanwan clutched the business card tightly in her hand, her gaze fixed on the strikingly beautiful couple not far away, her mind filled with a myriad of thoughts.

"Officer Xu, is this the result you wanted? To let the person you love fall in love with someone else, as long as she can be happy, it doesn't matter whether the person who brings her happiness is you or not."

Tears silently streamed down her face, and the pain in her heart was spreading endlessly. She clenched her teeth, the words she wanted to say stuck in her throat like a fishbone, unable to be spat out or swallowed.

If this is truly the outcome he desired, then she would bury that secret deep in her heart, take it to her grave, and never reveal a single word of it.

...

As the rooftops are painted with the colors of the sunset, the New Year's lights, like twinkling stars, spread out along the streets, their warm glow like a pair of discerning hands, inviting people to stop and admire.

Today is a day for family reunion, and everyone's face is beaming with a bright smile. Even the biggest events pale in comparison to this reunion.

As soon as it was past five o'clock, Song Yunzheng couldn't wait to walk to the garage. He opened WeChat and saw the last message from Lin Yue. A gentle smile appeared on his lips.

"Honey, Mom is teaching me how to make dumplings. Can you guess which ones I made?"

Below is a picture of dumplings.

Is there even a need to guess? It's obvious at a glance; those strange shapes must be her handiwork.

He replied, "You packed it separately so only I can eat it. Wait for me, I'll be right back."

After clicking send, I put my phone into my shirt pocket.

The elevator reached the basement parking garage. Song Yunzheng stepped out of the elevator, and a figure suddenly darted out from around the corner like a ghost. Fortunately, he was agile and dodged in time.

His expression was cold and stern as he stared intently at the figure. "Yu Qian? What are you doing here for no reason?"

The girl in front of me had messy hair and a pale, ashen face. She seemed to have lost her soul and looked listless, making it hard to imagine that she was originally the noble and elegant heiress of the Yu family.

"Heh...you ask me what I'm doing here?" Yu Qian sneered, her eyes glistening with desperate tears.

Song Yunzheng remained silent, simply looking at her indifferently, waiting for her to continue.

"Song Yunzheng, my intuition tells me that you will get your comeuppance sooner or later!" After saying that, Yu Qian started laughing, laughing nonstop, and laughing louder and louder.

"If you have nothing to say, hurry home." Song Yunzheng frowned, unwilling to argue with the little girl, and turned to leave.

"My brother is dead, he fell into the sea and died... You did it, didn't you?"

Song Yunzheng's eyes darkened, and his tone became serious, "I don't understand what nonsense you're spouting. You have to be based on evidence when you speak and act. If you make up stories without evidence, I can send you to jail."

"Heh... Sending me to prison? Of course I know how capable you are, Young Master Song. You're like a fish in water in the officialdom and the business world. Anyone you don't like will end up badly. Your Song family has already harmed my father enough, why did you have to force my brother to his death!"

"If you don't like him, you can send him back to England, but why did you have to force him to his death! Why?! Song Yunzheng, let me ask you, is a human life even worth anything in your eyes?!"

Yu Qian became more and more agitated as she spoke, her laughter growing increasingly sinister. She clenched her teeth, staring at him with resentment, as if she wanted to tear the man in front of her apart.

“Even if my brother shouldn’t have provoked you, he was just trying to stand up for our father. You have a father too, you have a family too. If Song Xinian is framed, can you just sit idly by? Can you swallow your anger? Can you?!”

The girl in front of him clenched her fists and trembled all over. She was afraid of Song Yunzheng's aura, but she didn't care about that anymore. Her brother was gone.

Song Yunzheng maintained a calm and detached attitude, as if he were listening to an unimportant story.

Seeing that he remained silent, Yu Qian became even more agitated. "Song Yunzheng! You are not fit to be a doctor! You are not a god, you have no right to control anyone's life and death!"

Just then, Song Yunzheng's phone vibrated in his pocket. He took it out and saw that it was Lin Yue calling.

He turned around and answered it.

"Hey, what's wrong?" The voice, which had been cold and aloof, instantly became gentle and tender.

"Honey, where are you? Are you stuck in traffic?"

"No, I just came out of the office and will be going back soon."

He walked toward the car as he spoke, completely ignoring the hateful eyes behind him.

When he got home, the clock struck six. The first thing he saw upon entering the house was his sister-in-law and her husband, who were snuggled on the sofa, chatting happily.
