Lin Lang was betrayed and plotted against by her fiancé and best friend, forced to watch herself be dismembered.
Fortunately, she encountered an ancestral artifact that allowed her to return...
When the survivors from several nearby communities saw them using ice bricks to build a wall, they panicked and swarmed towards the base.
It is now the fourth month of the extreme cold apocalypse, and there are still quite a few people alive in each community, thanks to the incident that the Dragon people encountered decades ago.
There are ten communities within three kilometers of Linlang Community. Each community has several thousand households. If 10% of them survive, that means one or two hundred households in each community survived, which is a lot of people.
Lin Lang’s base simply cannot accommodate so many people.
Survivors from several surrounding communities continued to arrive, claiming they were seeking shelter.
However, Lin Lang keenly sensed that something was wrong.
She noticed that there were indeed people in need of help in the crowd, but there were also some people who looked like they needed help, but their eyes revealed greed and ill intentions.
She stood behind Wang Qiang holding a sword, looking coldly at the crowd that kept pouring in.
A man stepped forward, his eyes gleaming with desire.
"thump"
Suddenly, the man knelt down in front of Lin Lang, his eyes filled with a desire to survive.
He said eagerly, "Lin Lang, please take us in! We can't survive anymore."
His voice trembled as he tried to appeal to her sympathy and that of the other members of the base.
Lin Lang's expression changed slightly.
How did this man know for sure that she was Lin Lang? She was clearly standing behind Wang Qiang. Anyone else would have thought Wang Qiang was the head of this base. This man rushed towards her without a second thought.
She took a deep breath, and the cold wind blew her hair, making her silhouette look even more resolute.
"The base can't accommodate so many people right now." Her voice was firm and rational, without wavering.
After being rejected, the man's face gradually became gloomy, and a trace of resentment flashed in his eyes. He gritted his teeth and said with dissatisfaction and anger:
"You are harming us by rejecting us like this! We are compatriots, yet we can't even get a place of shelter. You have so many empty houses here, why can't you give us some to stay in?"
His voice gradually rose, his emotions agitated. He pointed at Lin Lang, his expression fiercely expressing his anger.
"We all saw that you brought back so much supplies every day."
"We can't even finish the food. What's wrong with giving us some relief?"
"Yes, we are all Dragon people, why can't you take us in?"
Various voices began to be heard in the crowd, and they expressed their dissatisfaction wantonly.
Lin Lang's face was indifferent. She responded calmly: "I said, we are not accepting outsiders for the time being."
"Why?"
"What about them?" The man pointed angrily at Uncle Han and his group. "You brought them all back from outside. Why can they come in but not us?"
Lin Lang frowned slightly. This person knew so much, so she suppressed all her emotions.
"You treat us differently!" The man said angrily without waiting for Lin Lang's response. "There are obviously empty rooms inside, but you are unwilling to help us. How selfish!"
"That's right, it's too selfish. This isn't her house. She has no right to stop us from going in. There are no owners in there. We're in numbers, so let's just charge in."
"That's right. They bring back a lot of supplies every day. Let's rush in and grab them."
The crowd's emotions gradually became agitated, and public opinion began to surge. They wantonly accused Lin Lang of selfishness and indifference.
Lin Lang calmly faced the angry crowd, her gaze sweeping over each person. Her telepathic skills allowed her to quickly discern which ones were genuinely seeking help, and which were stirring up trouble to profit.
Hearing someone inciting the crowd to rush in and rob, Lin Lang's eyes flashed with murderous intent. This person was hiding in the crowd, speaking recklessly.
"Want to rob?"
As soon as he finished speaking, Lin Lang unhesitatingly drew the longsword from his waist. A flash of cold light passed, blood splattered, and the provocateur stared at his chest in horror.
"Murder! Murder! She actually dared to kill someone openly. We are all witnesses."
"What on earth do you guys want to do?" Wang Qiang and others were immediately dissatisfied. They had originally sympathized with these people, but now it seemed that it was completely unnecessary.
"What are you doing? You're occupying so many empty houses and so much supplies. Take out all your supplies and houses."
"Yes, there are so few of you that you can't use so many things."
The crowd began to squeeze into the base, completely ignoring the fact that someone had just died.
"Ao" Xia Hua suddenly appeared beside Lin Lang and yelled at the crowd, trying to scare them away.
"Panda? They actually have pandas!"
"Look, this panda is looking better than ever. They have so many supplies!"
"We are starving, freezing and suffering outside, while they are raising pandas inside!"
"Go in, there are many of us, go ahead!"
People kept inciting the crowd to rush into the base.
"I don't want to hurt innocent people, but if you persist in your delusion, don't blame me for going on a killing spree!" Lin Lang warned, and his long sword drew deep marks in front of everyone.
"Go ahead and kill him. We have already called the police. You killed someone in public. People from the Six Gates are coming." The man who had just been kneeling and kowtowing to Lin Lang had already changed his expression, as if to say that he was given a chance, but you were useless.
In the past few days, rumors have been circulating around the base that the provincial government is organizing personnel to restore order. Many people believe it, and even Wang Qiang has come to ask Lin Lang about it.
