The college has a teaching building specifically for student clubs, and the Food Club is located in that building.
Afternoon classes hadn't started yet at this time, so there weren't many people coming and going. On such a hot day, not many people would be wandering around outside; most would be in their dorm rooms or other classrooms enjoying the air conditioning.
Led by Su Zhimeng, the group of ten arrived at the teaching building.
There's a fingerprint verification system at the entrance; the door only opens after verification. The security measures are quite comprehensive, making it difficult for non-club members and teachers to get in.
But thinking about it, it makes sense. Other organizations have financial aid, while they have nothing at all.
Unless they contribute funds themselves, they are just a nominal organization.
What is the significance of student organizations?
Most people would assume that it would be a group of like-minded people with the same interests.
But everyone is different, so it's impossible to generalize.
Bai Ye initially wanted to join the anime club, but after listening to the seniors from the previous year, she learned that the so-called anime club was nothing more than a group of people who had never watched anime but wore anime cosplay costumes and thought they knew a lot about it, which was incredibly boring.
Bai Ye didn't know if what the seniors said was true or not, but there were indeed many pretty girls in the anime club, dressed in very colorful and flamboyant styles, including Lolita fashion.
When they were recruiting, they saw him and persuaded Bai Ye to quit. At that time, he was an extremely socially awkward person who didn't know how to face girls. Being in a club with so many girls would be quite embarrassing, so he gave up the idea.
Initially, he joined the food club just to earn some credits. He was afraid that he wouldn't pass the English proficiency test and wouldn't have enough credits, so he joined the club out of necessity.
Otherwise, given Bai Ye's personality, he would love to stay in his dorm room all day.
All of this was done out of necessity, out of sheer circumstances.
The classroom for the activity was large, and Bai Ye and his group of ten, plus Su Zhimeng and her group of ten, made up a total of twenty people, yet they seemed to have plenty of room to themselves.
Bai Ye felt that even adding a dozen more people would be enough for them to perform well.
However, making desserts is not something that can be done simply by having a lot of people; in fact, having too many people can actually make the process more difficult.
Bai Ye glanced at the ten people opposite him. Most of them were women, and a few were familiar faces he had seen last semester.
After all, the food clubs of both schools started last year on the advice of the former minister, and this year is just a continuation, so it's not surprising.
Last year, Su Zhimeng and Bai Ye were just club members, but this year they both became club presidents.
In the center of the classroom is a platform specifically used for placing various items or for making things, while the surrounding walls are lined with refrigerators, stoves, and other cooking utensils.
Su Zhimeng took out a bunch of aprons from the cabinet where aprons were kept and distributed them to everyone.
At this moment, Su Zhimeng displayed a hint of the president's authority and earnestly instructed, "Everyone should wear scarves to avoid getting their clothes dirty. Wash your hands before you start; hygiene is very important."
"Yes," everyone nodded in agreement.
Bai Ye took half of the apron from Su Zhimeng and handed it to the club members one by one.
"Everyone helps each other tie the rope, and then goes to the sink to wash their hands."
As soon as Bai Ye finished speaking, they put on their aprons and tied the ropes around each other's necks.
Bai Ye also put on an apron and was about to reach out and pull the rope behind her to tie it on.
But no matter what he did, he couldn't pull it up, and he was about to peek out to find the rope's location.
A pair of small hands reached out and Su Zhimeng grabbed the two ropes behind Bai Ye.
"Let me help you!"
Su Zhimeng skillfully tied a knot in Bai Ye's apron.
"Thanks."
Bai Ye thanked her and, seeing that Su Zhimeng hadn't put on an apron yet, planned to help her tie one later.
Who knew that Luo Qingyan would suddenly appear.
"I'll tie your apron for you, senior."
Luo Qingyan smiled and stood between the two.
Luo Qingyan didn't want Bai Ye and Su Zhimeng to have too much contact, so she came to stop them from continuing their interaction.
Bai Ye opened his mouth, not understanding what she was doing, but since she had volunteered, he was happy to have some peace and quiet.
After Luo Qingyan tied Su Zhimeng's clothes on, she jumped in front of Bai Ye and exposed her back.
She turned to Bai Ye, blinking her bright eyes at him, her meaning clear.
Bai Ye's lips twitched. I know you want me to tie it for you, but could you please stop looking at me like that? Anyone would think our relationship is more than just friendship!
I reluctantly tied an apron on her and then patted her on the shoulder to signal that she was okay.
After everyone washed their hands, they came to the workbench.
Since there were many freshmen present, Su Zhimeng gave an introduction.
"Hello, I am Su Zhimeng, the president of the university's food club. I am a junior. Freshmen and sophomores, you can just call me Senior Su."
After speaking, Su Zhimeng nudged Bai Ye, who remained unmoved, to signal him.
Bai Ye was somewhat bewildered.
Do I really need to introduce myself?
"Hello, I am Bai Ye, the president of the school's food club. I am a sophomore. Freshmen can just call me Senior Bai."
"Hello, Senior Su."
"Hello, Senior Bai."
Bai Ye felt a sense of comfort.
Hearing them call her "senior" and the way they addressed her finally felt normal, but she still felt a little awkward.
He was used to Luo Qingyan calling him "senior," so the sudden change to "elder brother" felt a bit strange to him.
That's really strange.
Then it was time to arrange for them to make it.
They're making tiramisu, so they need cream, and they have enough ingredients to make their own.
The first thing they need to make is whipped cream, which requires eggs, butter, and sugar.
...
While the others were making the cream, Bai Ye and Su Zhimeng had already begun preparing the things needed for the next steps, as well as the mold for tiramisu.
I made tiramisu once last year, so I'm somewhat familiar with it, but I'm not actually that good at it.
After all, he had only made it once, and he hadn't taken it seriously last year, spending a long time slacking off there.
So even though I had some recollection of it, I still struggled a lot and only managed to complete it after Su Zhimeng provided me with multiple instructions.
Just as he was about to daydream and take a short break, Su Zhimeng handed him a finger biscuit.
"Try it and see how it tastes. I made these cookies myself."
Bai Ye subconsciously opened her mouth and took the biscuit in her mouth.
My face flushed red; it was another day of being fed by my senior.
I remember my senior did the same thing last time; she shoved it into his mouth before he could react.
I took a bite of the cookie my senior had made.
Bai Ye felt that this was the best cookie she had ever eaten in her life.
The answer is that what my senior did is the best in the world, and I won't accept any arguments against it.
