Duan Yu held Ye Ling's hand tightly, staring at the deep entrance with deep eyes, as if he wanted to swallow up the endless darkness.

"I feel...something's not right here." His deep voice carried a hint of barely perceptible nervousness.

Ye Linghui held his hand, and her heartbeat quickened.

"What are you afraid of? With me here, all demons and monsters have to stand aside!" She said stubbornly, but she couldn't help feeling a little uneasy. The entrance of the ancient tomb was filled with a strange aura, like a sleeping giant beast that could open its bloody mouth at any time.

The two looked at each other and saw excitement and a hint of fear in each other's eyes.

Taking a deep breath, Ye Ling stepped into the darkness first, followed closely by Duan Yu.

The darkness swallowed them up in an instant, as if they had entered a world isolated from the outside world.

The surroundings were eerily quiet, with only the sounds of their breathing and heartbeats echoing.

Ye Ling subconsciously held Duan Yu's hand tightly. The warmth of his palm from her fingertips made her feel at ease.

"Fortunately, I brought a high-intensity flashlight, otherwise I wouldn't be able to see my hand in front of me and it would be pitch dark." Ye Ling said as she turned on the flashlight. A bright beam of light cut through the darkness and illuminated the road ahead.

The walls on both sides of the passage are engraved with strange runes, emitting a faint fluorescence, as if telling an ancient story.

The air was filled with a smell of dampness and decay, which made people feel a little uncomfortable.

They moved forward cautiously, taking every step with extreme caution, for fear of touching any mechanism or trap.

Suddenly, a dazzling white light shot out from the front, accompanied by a sharp alarm that was deafening.

"Oh my god! What's going on!" Ye Ling exclaimed and subconsciously closed her eyes. The strong light stimulated her to tears.

Duan Yu was also blinded by the bright light. He pulled Ye Ling behind him and protected her.

"careful!"

The two groped for shelter in the bright light. Everything around them became blurred and danger seemed to be everywhere.

"This light... is strange..." Duan Yu squinted his eyes, trying hard to see the surrounding environment clearly, "I feel..."

"I feel... this light is strange..." Duan Yu squinted his eyes, trying hard to see the surrounding environment clearly, "It seems like some kind of energy fluctuation, very regular, a bit like..." He paused, "like some kind of ancient scanning device!"

When Ye Ling heard this, she immediately became alert.

"Scan? There must be a trigger mechanism! Old Duan, you are such a genius!" She looked around excitedly, trying to find the location of the mechanism.

Duan Yu quickly locked onto the target with his keen perception.

"There!" He pointed to an inconspicuous rune at the top of the passage and said, "I feel the energy fluctuations are coming from there."

Ye Ling looked in the direction of Duan Yu's finger, and sure enough, the rune was flashing with a faint light, slightly different from the other runes.

"That's right! It seems to be you!" She smiled confidently and took out a device similar to a tablet from her backpack.

"Luckily I brought a treasure with me. It's a must-have artifact for tomb exploration!"

She operated the device skillfully, and a series of complex codes and graphics appeared on the screen.

"Let me see how this thing works..." She muttered while typing commands quickly.

Duan Yu stood guarding silently by her side, watching her with gentle eyes as she focused.

"Done!" Ye Ling snapped her fingers excitedly and pressed the confirm button.

The rune light at the top of the passage flashed and then went out, and the surrounding alarms also stopped abruptly.

"Huh——" They both breathed a sigh of relief and smiled at each other.

"As expected of you, Ling'er, you are so amazing!" Duan Yu praised sincerely.

"Hehe, it's no big deal!" Ye Ling raised her chin proudly, but her cheeks flushed slightly.

Duan Yu looked at her tenderly and gently tucked the hair behind her ear.

"Your hair is messy."

Ye Ling's heartbeat suddenly accelerated, and her face turned redder. "Oh..."

Their eyes met, and there was a hint of ambiguity in the air.

"Ahem..." Ye Ling coughed twice uncomfortably, "Let's keep going."

Duan Yu smiled slightly and held her hand, "Okay."

The two continued along the passage, their figures clinging to each other in the darkness...

"Heh..." A chuckle came from the darkness in the distance.

"Heh..." The chuckle in the darkness was as cold as a poisonous snake spitting out its tongue. Ye Ling and Duan Yu were instantly alert, and felt a chill on their backs.

Ye Ling immediately turned on the thermal sensor on the mecha, and a sneaky figure appeared on the screen.

"Oh my goodness, someone is really following us! Lao Duan, prepare to fight!"

Without saying a word, Duan Yu condensed a blade of energy in his hand, the cold light was intimidating.

"You dare to follow us? Don't you think about your own worth?"

The figure on the thermal sensor screen was Evelyn.

She originally wanted to take advantage of Ye Ling and Duan Yu's off guard to launch a sneak attack and steal their equipment, but she didn't expect Ye Ling to react so quickly and her plan was instantly ruined.

Seeing that her whereabouts were exposed, Evelin cursed "bad luck" inwardly and had no choice but to show up.

“Don’t be nervous, you two. I’m just passing by to see the excitement.” Evelin smiled hypocritically, but the greed and malice in her eyes could not be concealed.

"Passing by? I think you want to 'plunder' our equipment!" Ye Ling exposed her lie without any hesitation.

"How dare you covet my treasure? Why don't you take a piss and look at yourself!"
