Doomsday Judge: I Am a God of Slaughter in the Wasteland

Nuclear fire has burned civilization to ashes, leaving only bones and blood in the wasteland.

I, Lu Zhaoming, an unlucky soul who transmigrated into the apocalypse, found the 'Doomsday Ju...

Chapter 50 Undercurrents

Lu Zhaoming narrowed his eyes, his fingertips rhythmically tapping the table, making a "tap tap tap" sound, much like the pendulum of a death countdown.

"An underground network? This old woman's having a blast!" A dangerous smirk curled at the corner of his mouth, like a cheetah that'd caught the scent of blood. "Since she wants to play dirty, I'll play along!"

Su Li rolled her eyes, but her alluring figure moved nimbly among the various electronic devices, her tools flying up and down, dazzling the eyes of onlookers.

"Hey Judge Lu, can you stop just talking and start doing something? Hurry up and come up with a plan, or you'll end up making a huge fool of yourself!"

Lu Zhaoming laughed heartily, exuding a roguish charm.

"Don't worry, Xiao Su, when have I ever let you down? This time, let's go 'into the tiger's den'!"

Without hesitation, Lu Zhaoming quickly formulated an action plan.

He needs to first find out the specifics of the "underground network," locate Green Snake's intelligence nodes, and then destroy them in one fell swoop!

The first step was to blend into the nearby market.

With Su Li's skillful dressing, Lu Zhaoming was transformed into a weary survivor.

He was dressed in tattered clothes, his face covered in dust, and he held a rusty machete in his hand, looking exactly like a lowly nobody struggling to survive in the wasteland.

"Wow, not bad, this outfit suits you quite well." Su Li looked Lu Zhaoming up and down.

Lu Zhaoming shrugged and said nonchalantly, "Don't worry, I'm a professional, I definitely won't give myself away!"

The market was bustling with people, and the sounds of vendors hawking their wares and bargaining filled the air.

This is where information flows the fastest, and it's also a gray area where various forces intersect.

Lu Zhaoming mingled in the crowd, inquiring about information about the "Poisonous Scorpion".

"Hey buddy, ever heard of a scorpion?" Lu Zhaoming stopped a shifty-looking businessman and handed him a crumpled cigarette.

The businessman took the cigarette, took a greedy drag, and squinted as he said, "Scorpion? You mean that information broker? I advise you not to mess with him; that guy is a ruthless character!"

"Oh? What do you mean?" Lu Zhaoming raised an eyebrow and continued to ask.

The businessman looked around and said in a low voice, "I heard that he has a powerful figure backing him up, and he is extremely ruthless. Anyone who offends him never ends up well."

Lu Zhaoming smiled and said dismissively, "I just want to do some business with him and find out some information."

“Then go find him, but I’d better be careful.” The merchant pointed to a dilapidated shack in the corner of the market and said, “Scorpions usually live there.”

Lu Zhaoming thanked him and walked towards the shed.

He knew that the real highlight was yet to come.

After some negotiation and bargaining, Lu Zhaoming finally bought an encrypted map from Poison Scorpion.

Several suspicious locations are marked on the map, which look like the locations of some kind of secret facility.

"Is this map really worth this price?" Su Li asked skeptically, looking at the strange symbols on the map.

Lu Zhaoming smiled mysteriously and said, "Don't worry, my intuition tells me that this map is definitely worth the price!"

Just then, Xiao Cui, who had been silent all along, suddenly spoke up: "Brother Lu, there's a place on this map that I think I've seen before!"

Lu Zhaoming turned his head and looked at Xiao Cui, "Oh? Tell me about it."

Xiao Cui recalled, "My brother once participated in a secret excavation mission, and the location seemed to be in this marked area on the map."

Lu Zhaoming's heart skipped a beat, and he immediately realized that there might be some kind of connection between them.

He quickly asked Xiao Cui to describe the situation in detail.

"My brother and the others dug for a long time and it seemed like they dug up something, but I don't know exactly what it was," Xiao Cui said, shaking her head in frustration.

Lu Zhaoming patted her shoulder and comforted her, "It's okay, as long as we know the location, that's enough. Let's go take a look now!"

The group left the market and headed towards the area marked on the map.

Along the way, they encountered Professor Lin.

"Professor Lin, what are you doing here?" Lu Zhaoming asked in surprise.

Professor Lin adjusted his glasses and said, "I've been studying the ruins in the wasteland, hoping to find clues to rebuild civilization. The symbols on this map caught my attention."

"You understand these symbols too?" Lu Zhaoming

Professor Lin nodded and said, "These symbols represent the core experimental sites of the 'Purification Project,' and each location may contain undestroyed experimental subjects or data."

"The purification plan?" Lu Zhaoming frowned and asked, "What is that?"

Professor Lin sighed and said, "That was an extremely insane plan. Before the outbreak of nuclear war, some people believed that only through extreme means could order be restored, so they began this inhumane experiment."

Lu Zhaoming pressed further, "Why continue these experiments after a nuclear war?"

Professor Lin shook his head and said, "I don't know either. Maybe it's because they feel that only in this way can they achieve their goals."

The team continued forward and soon arrived at the first marked location.

Before me lay ruins, with wreckage and damaged experimental equipment everywhere.

The air was filled with a pungent chemical smell that made people feel nauseous.

Lu Zhaoming activated the system scan, carefully searching the surrounding environment.
