Lu Zhaoming's heart was pounding so hard it was almost as fast as a disco tune. The "thump thump thump" sound was like Death spinning a DJ in his ear, making his head buzz.

He squinted, trying to make out what it was in the darkness, but he could see nothing but endless darkness.

"Don't panic, don't panic!" Lu Zhaoming suppressed his fear and tried his best to remain calm.

After all, he was destined to become a wasteland legend; how could he be intimidated by such a trivial matter?

Su Li gripped Lu Zhaoming's arm tightly, her voice trembling slightly: "Zhaoming, what... what is this thing?"

Xiao Cui was so frightened that she immediately hugged Su Li's waist, looking at Lu Zhaoming with teary eyes, as if he were her only lifeline.

Lu Zhaoming took a deep breath and forced a relatively calm smile: "Don't worry, I'm here, everything will be fine."

Although he himself was not confident, he absolutely could not show any weakness at this moment!

Seeing Lu Zhaoming's tense expression, the Green Snake laughed even more smugly: "How about it, Lu Zhaoming, isn't it exciting? This is just the appetizer, the real show is yet to come!"

The factory floor began to shake violently, as if an earthquake had struck.

Cracks began to appear on the walls, dust began to fall, and the entire factory teetered on the brink of collapse.

"Holy crap, this woman's serious!" Lu Zhaoming couldn't help but swear again.

"Run! This place is going to collapse!" Lu Zhaoming shouted, grabbed Su Li and Xiao Cui, and rushed out of the factory.

Behind them, the green snake's laughter grew farther and farther away, more and more frenzied, like a demonic sound from hell.

Based on information extracted from the factory data, Lu Zhaoming deduced that the entrance to the ruins was likely hidden in an inconspicuous canyon in the nearby mountains.

"Damn it, let's go for it!" Lu Zhaoming spat fiercely and ordered the team to travel through the night.

This apocalypse is truly a time when there's no peace and quiet for even a minute!

Fortunately, they met Professor Lin on the way.

This descendant of scientists from before the nuclear war was unshaven and dressed in rags, but his eyes were unusually bright.

"You...you're here to find the ruins?" Professor Lin grabbed Lu Zhaoming's arm excitedly, his voice trembling.

“That’s right, Professor, we need your help,” Lu Zhaoming said quickly.

Professor Lin nodded, took out a tattered map from his pocket, and pointed to some strange symbols on it: "These are... the code for the 'Purification Project,' which only I can decipher."

"Purification Plan?" Lu Zhaoming was slightly taken aback; this was the first time he had ever heard of this term.

Professor Lin sighed and slowly explained, "This was a plan devised by some scientists before the nuclear war to deal with the apocalyptic crisis. They attempted to use a special device to purify contaminated land and water and rebuild human civilization."

"So, is that device hidden inside this ruin?" Lu Zhaoming asked.

Professor Lin nodded: "That's right, that's their last refuge, and also the core of the 'Purification Plan'."

Lu Zhaoming's heart skipped a beat; it seemed he had found a treasure this time!

Guided by Professor Lin, they soon arrived at the canyon.

However, the scene before him caused Lu Zhaoming's mood to plummet instantly.

The entrance to the canyon has been captured by the Scorpion Squad!

A burly man with a face full of scars was leading a squad of elite soldiers, ready for battle.

“Shi Hu?” Lu Zhaoming squinted and recognized the burly man.

He was a capable lieutenant under Scorpion, known for his bravery.

"It seems the Green Snake anticipated our arrival," Su Li said coldly.

Lu Zhaoming nodded. This woman was indeed extraordinary!

"What should we do? Force our way in?" Xiao Cui asked timidly.

Lu Zhaoming did not answer immediately, but carefully observed the surrounding terrain.

The canyon is steep and easy to defend, making it difficult to attack. A direct assault would certainly result in heavy losses.

"It seems I have no choice but to outsmart them," Lu Zhaoming thought to himself.

He had a sudden inspiration and thought of the system's time delay function.

"Afu, get ready to move out!" Lu Zhaoming silently chanted in his mind.

Afu immediately understood and began setting traps around the area.

Lu Zhaoming took a deep breath and activated the "time delay" function.

Everything around them slowed down, and the enemy's movements became incredibly sluggish.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Lu Zhaoming quietly approached the entrance and silently eliminated several sentries with the Blade of Judgment.

At the entrance, there was a complex mechanical device covered with various gears, buttons and wires, which looked like a huge mechanical maze.
