Nuclear fire has burned civilization to ashes, leaving only bones and blood in the wasteland.
I, Lu Zhaoming, an unlucky soul who transmigrated into the apocalypse, found the 'Doomsday Ju...
Lu Zhaoming spat, "Pah, what a damn bad luck!"
Is the person in the white robe born in the Year of the Dog?
Is your nose that sensitive?
They'd barely moved to a new location, hadn't even settled in properly, and they'd already caught up?
"Everyone, grab your weapons!" Lu Zhaoming said as he deftly pulled a bunch of parts from his backpack and began assembling his precious possession—a modified electromagnetic rifle.
This thing has a fast rate of fire and great power, but it consumes a lot of electricity.
But right now, we can't worry about that. Let's take down these bastards first!
Their new base was an abandoned mine.
This place has been in disrepair for many years, with potholes and jagged rocks everywhere, making it a natural maze.
However, in Lu Zhaoming's eyes, this is the best battlefield!
"Su Li, bring out all those bottles and jars. We'll give them a surprise later!" Lu Zhaoming's lips curled into a wicked smile, his eyes flashing with a dangerous light.
Su Li rolled her eyes, but still obediently took out the various medicines and chemical reagents from her backpack.
These are all her treasures, things she usually wouldn't use easily, but it looks like she's going to have to spend a lot today.
"Xiaodie, same old routine, get your superpower ready, we'll put a whole 'mirage' on them for them to play with later." Lu Zhaoming patted Xiaodie on the shoulder. Although this little girl was timid, she could still be very useful in a critical moment.
"Brother Zhaoming...I...I'll try my best..." Xiaodie nodded timidly, which made Lu Zhaoming feel a pang of heartache.
"Liu Yan, it's all up to you this time!" Lu Zhaoming turned around and looked at Liu Yan, whose face was resolute.
"Don't worry, Brother Zhaoming! I guarantee I'll complete the mission!" Liu Yan puffed out his chest.
Soon, faint gunshots and footsteps could be heard in the distance.
Lu Zhaoming knew that Da Xiong and the others had arrived!
"Lu Zhaoming, you can't escape now! The White-Robed Lord already knows your background. Surrender obediently and you'll suffer less!" Big Bear's voice came from the communicator, tinged with smugness and arrogance.
"Pah! That old codger in the white robe, I thought he was all that capable, but all he knows is these underhanded tricks!" Lu Zhaoming spat disdainfully. "You want me to surrender? In your next life!"
"Hmph! You won't listen to reason, so you'll have to suffer the consequences! Search them! Dig three feet into the ground and find them!" Big Bear roared.
Lu Zhaoming sneered and turned off the communicator.
He had anticipated that Big Bear would say that, so he had prepared in advance.
"Liu Yan, proceed according to plan!" Lu Zhaoming said in a low voice.
"Understood!" Liu Yan nodded, took a deep breath, and then leaped into a dark mine tunnel.
To enhance the realism, Liu Yan even fired a few shots towards the cave entrance, then shouted, "Don't come any closer! I'll shoot if you do!"
Upon hearing this, the bear immediately perked up.
"Over there! Chase after him!" He waved his hand and led a group of his men in pursuit of Liu Yan.
Lu Zhaoming watched the departing figures of Da Xiong and the others, a cold smile curling at the corner of his lips.
"Heh, a bunch of idiots, they fell for it already?"
He quickly pulled Xiaodie to his side and whispered, "Xiaodie, let's begin!"
Xiaodie nodded, closed her eyes, and began to concentrate.
Soon, a faint halo appeared at the entrance of the mine, the light began to distort, and the air seemed to ripple with water.
Big Bear led his men into the mine, only to find themselves enveloped in a thick fog.
They looked around, completely disoriented.
"Boss, what's going on? Why is it suddenly foggy?" a mercenary asked in confusion.
"Something's not right! There's definitely something wrong here!" Big Bear frowned, feeling that something was amiss.
Just then, the ground suddenly began to shake, followed by a loud bang.
"boom--!"
The violent shockwave instantly destroyed most of the bear's forces, sending countless rocks and dust flying and engulfing the entire mine.
The bear was also knocked to the ground by the sudden explosion, its head buzzing and its ears ringing.
"Lu Zhaoming! You cunning bastard!" he roared, his voice filled with anger and resentment.
Lu Zhaoming stood at a distance, looking at the mine tunnel destroyed by the explosion, without the slightest pity in his heart.
In this apocalyptic world, it's either you die or I live; being merciful to your enemy is being cruel to yourself!
After the explosion, the mine was in a mess, with wounded mercenaries everywhere, their cries of pain echoing throughout.
"Boss... what... what should we do?" a mercenary asked in a trembling voice.
Big Bear struggled to his feet, looked around, and found that of the thirty-odd men he had brought, less than ten remained, and all of them were wounded.
"Damn Lu Zhaoming! I must kill him!" Big Bear said through gritted teeth.
Just then, a mercenary muttered a complaint, "We're just doing this for money, there's no need for us to die with him, is there?"
“Exactly! It’s not worth risking your life for this little bit of money!” another mercenary chimed in.
Upon hearing this, Big Bear's face immediately darkened.
He knew that these guys were starting to waver.
"What...what do you want?" Big Bear glared at them.
“We don’t want to do anything, we just don’t want to die in vain!” one of the mercenaries said.
“That’s right! Let’s go now!” another mercenary said.
After saying that, they turned and walked out of the mine.
Big Bear watched their departing figures, trembling with rage.
