Nuclear fire has burned civilization to ashes, leaving only bones and blood in the wasteland.
I, Lu Zhaoming, an unlucky soul who transmigrated into the apocalypse, found the 'Doomsday Ju...
"hiss……"
Lu Zhaoming rubbed his throbbing temples, feeling as if thousands of bees were holding a concert in his head, buzzing incessantly.
He took a deep breath, trying to suppress the urge to smash his head against the wall.
"This trial storm is really damn powerful." Lu Zhaoming cursed under his breath. He finally understood that this was not a "trial storm" at all, but a "trial of a crazy woman" who was going to tear him apart!
"Zhaoming, you don't look well." Su Li approached unnoticed, her charming eyes filled with concern. "Let me see."
As she spoke, she extended her slender fingers and placed them on Lu Zhaoming's pulse.
"How about it?" Lu Zhaoming forced a smile, which he thought was charming, but the muscles in his face contorted in the process. "I can fight for another five hundred years!"
Su Li ignored his joke, her brows furrowing deeper and deeper: "Your nervous system... has been overstimulated. In this condition, you need to rest immediately, otherwise..."
"What else?" Lu Zhaoming raised an eyebrow, but his heart skipped a beat.
"Otherwise, at best, your superpowers will go out of control; at worst... you'll become an idiot," Su Li said bluntly, her tone serious.
"Holy crap, is it that serious?" Lu Zhaoming's eyes widened. He didn't want to become one of those useless people who could only drool.
"Is that even a question?" Su Li rolled her eyes at him. "Do you think superpowers are limitless? Even a power bank runs out of power eventually!"
Lu Zhaoming fell silent. He knew Su Li was right, but he simply didn't have time to rest right now.
“There’s no time left.” Lu Zhaoming shook his head, a hint of helplessness in his voice. “The white-robed figures won’t give us a chance to catch our breath.”
“But…” Su Li wanted to say something more, but was interrupted by Lu Zhaoming.
"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing." Lu Zhaoming patted her shoulder, revealing a reassuring smile. "I'm the main character, I'm practically invincible!"
After saying that, he turned around and looked at Qinglian and Liu Yan standing to the side.
"Qinglian, Liu Yan, come here for a moment."
Upon hearing this, the two immediately came over.
"Boss, what are your orders?" Liu Yan asked, his tone respectful.
Lu Zhaoming didn't say anything, but simply took out an old notebook from his pocket and handed it to them.
“This is a note left by the eagle,” Lu Zhaoming said. “It mentions a plant called ‘Spirit Breath Grass,’ which can stabilize supernatural energy fluctuations.”
"Spirit Breath Grass?" Qinglian took the notebook and carefully flipped through it. "I feel like I've heard of this somewhere before..."
“It only grows deep within radiation zones,” Lu Zhaoming added, “and it is extremely rare.”
"A radiation zone?" Liu Yan frowned. "That place is dangerous. It's teeming with mutated creatures and there's radiation everywhere..."
“I know,” Lu Zhaoming nodded, “but we have no other choice.”
"Boss, I'll go," Qinglian suddenly said. "I know a place where we might be able to find the Spirit Breath Grass."
"You know?" Lu Zhaoming looked at her with some surprise. "Are you sure?"
“Hmm.” Qinglian nodded. “When I was in a mercenary group, I went to the radiation zone once and saw the Spirit Breath Grass.”
“Alright.” Lu Zhaoming pondered for a moment and finally agreed to her suggestion. “Then you will lead the way. Liu Yan, you will be responsible for protecting her safety.”
"No problem!" Liu Yan patted his chest and said confidently.
"Remember, safety first," Lu Zhaoming instructed. "If you encounter danger, retreat immediately."
"Understood!" the two replied in unison.
And so, Lu Zhaoming and his team embarked on their journey once more. Their destination: the depths of the radiation zone!
The air in the radiation zone was filled with a pungent odor that made people feel nauseous.
Everywhere you look, there are ruins and mutated plants eroded by radiation.
"Be careful, the radiation here is very high," Qinglian warned. "Try not to stay outside for extended periods."
Lu Zhaoming nodded. He could feel his supernatural power being constantly depleted in order to resist the corrosive effects of radiation.
"There's movement ahead!" Liu Yan suddenly whispered, his tone tinged with wariness.
Lu Zhaoming immediately signaled everyone to stop. He held his breath and listened carefully to the sounds around him.
“They are mutant dogs,” Su Li said. “There are quite a few, probably more than a dozen.”
"Prepare for battle!" Lu Zhaoming said in a deep voice.
Sure enough, not long after, a pack of enormous mutant dogs appeared in their field of vision.
These mutated dogs were covered in pustules, and their eyes gleamed with a bloodthirsty light; they looked like men to be trifled with.
"Awoo..."
The lead mutant dog let out a howl, and the other mutant dogs followed suit, their cries shrill and terrifying.
"Go!" Lu Zhaoming shouted and charged forward first.
He brandished the Blade of Judgment, and streaks of sword energy shot out, cleaving the leading mutated dogs in two.
Liu Yan was not to be outdone. He swung his warhammer, smashing the mutated dogs into a bloody mess.
Su Li stood at the back, constantly using her medical skills to heal her injured teammates.
Qinglian, on the other hand, used her support-type ability to continuously weaken the mutated dog's strength.
However, there were simply too many mutated dogs, and Lu Zhaoming and his group soon found themselves in a fierce battle.
Lu Zhaoming felt his body getting weaker and weaker, and his headaches became more and more severe.
