As soon as he finished speaking, thunderous applause erupted from the audience. Under everyone's gaze, Brigade Commander Zheng solemnly handed another identical Second-Class Merit Medal and a "Most Beautiful Military Spouse" medal engraved with a red star and ears of wheat to Su Wantang.

"That's not all!" Brigade Commander Zheng said with a smile, taking out another gold-embossed certificate of honor. "They are partners in life, and even more so, comrades-in-arms who defend the country! The military region has decided to award Comrades Lu Linchuan and Su Wantang the honorary title of 'Model Couple'!"

The applause from the audience grew even louder, and the faces of all the officers and soldiers were filled with admiration and excitement. "Amazing! Both husband and wife have received second-class merit awards!"

"Commander Lu is amazing, but his wife is even more amazing! She made a great contribution while pregnant!" "This is a true role model for us soldiers, a real revolutionary couple!"

As she stood on the stage, looking at the burning gazes of thousands of officers and soldiers below, Su Wantang felt an unprecedented sense of pride. She subconsciously glanced at Lu Linchuan beside her; the man stood ramrod straight, his eyes fixed on her, filled with pride and unwavering tenderness.

As soon as the commendation ceremony ended, several reporters carrying cameras and microphones immediately surrounded them. They were reporters from the military region's newspaper and the provincial television station. "Regimental Commander Lu! Comrade Su Wantang! Congratulations! Your deeds will soon be reported in newspapers and on television to the people of the province! What are your thoughts now?"

Holding Su Wantang's hand, Lu Linchuan faced the camera and said succinctly, "Defending our country is a soldier's duty. This honor belongs to the military, and it also belongs to my wife beside me."

The reporter then handed the microphone to Su Wantang, who stroked her lower abdomen with a calm and gentle smile on her face: "I just did what a military wife should do. It is my greatest honor to be able to stand shoulder to shoulder with my loved one and contribute to the country."

Flashbulbs went off incessantly, capturing the figures of this heroic couple. Everyone present, officers and soldiers alike, looked at them with the purest admiration and longing. As soon as the whistle blew to end the commendation ceremony, the entire venue erupted in cheers.

Before Lu Linchuan and Su Wantang could even step off the stage, they were surrounded by a group of enthusiastic people.

"Oh, Commander Lu, Xiao Su! No, now we should call them a heroic couple!" Li Xiulian's loud voice was the most penetrating. She pushed aside two young soldiers, grabbed Su Wantang's hand, and her eyes shone like searchlights. "Let me bask in her glory! "Sister Xiulian, please don't make fun of me." Su Wantang's cheeks were flushed, half from excitement and half from embarrassment at being watched by others.

“This isn’t a joke, it’s the truth!” Another familiar military wife also came over, looking enviously at the medals and certificates in Su Wantang’s hands. “Little Su, you are truly the pride of all military families! Who will dare to say that we women can only do laundry and cook now? You’ve really made all of us military wives proud!”
