Chapter 133 My biggest regret is marrying him (2/2)

Liu Fen had already reached that familiar door. She could hear Granny Li's impatient cursing and her daughter Nannan's suppressed, weak sobs coming from inside. Those sobs were like needles piercing her heart.

She took a deep breath, raised her hand, and without knocking, inserted the key directly into the lock.

With a click, the door opened. In the dim light inside, Granny Li was holding her baby girl, bouncing her around while cursing, "Crying, crying, wailing like you're at a funeral! Just like your jinxed mother, you good-for-nothing! If you cry again, I'll throw you out to feed the dogs!"

Hearing the door open, Granny Li turned around abruptly. Seeing Liu Fen, she was first taken aback, then a smug and sarcastic smile appeared on her face: "Oh, so you know how to come back? What, you were starving out there and now you know how good this family is? Let me tell you, if you want to come back, you can kneel down and kowtow three times to admit you were wrong!"

Liu Fen ignored her shouts; her gaze was fixed on her daughter, who was being roughly held in Granny Li's arms, her face flushed from crying and struggling to breathe.

Her heart felt as if it were being gripped tightly by an invisible hand.

She walked over step by step, stretched out her hands, her voice hoarse but leaving no room for argument.

"Give me back my daughter."

"Fine, you think I want to support this good-for-nothing?" Granny Li stood up, shoved the child into Liu Fen's arms, and glared at Liu Fen with her triangular eyes. "Weren't you staying outside? What happened? Couldn't make it out there, so you're shamelessly trying to come back?"

Liu Fen held the child tightly in her arms and gently coaxed the child.

"Let me tell you, if you want to come back, kneel down and kowtow to me ten times. If I'm in a good mood, I'll allow you to come back," Granny Li said with a sneer.

Liu Fen found it ridiculous. "I'm not begging you to let me come back this time. I'm taking my daughter with me."

"Leave?" Granny Li seemed to have heard the biggest joke in the world. "Fine, you can leave. I want to see where you can go with a burden like that! You'll have to come back obediently in the end, won't you?"

"You don't need to worry about it." Liu Fen held the baby and searched the house for the baby's birth certificate, baby bottle, malted milk powder, her own ID card, and her usual clothes. She held the baby in one arm and packed her bags with the other, her heart growing more and more determined.

Granny Li kept a close eye on Liu Fen, afraid that Liu Fen would steal things from the house.

"Fine, then take this burden with you and never come back!" Granny Li's voice was shrill.

It's better that she's gone; now this house is hers to rule.

That way, I won't have to deal with those two money-losing things in my way.

"Don't worry, I'm divorcing your son. I'll never come back in this lifetime." Liu Fen smiled faintly, slung her bag over her shoulder, held the child in her arms, and got up to leave.

As she was leaving, Liu Fen brushed past Liu Jianjun.

"Liu Fen, you'll regret this!" Liu Jianjun gritted his teeth.

Liu Fen stopped in her tracks.

Liu Jianjun assumed she realized her mistake, and he gave a mocking laugh, "What, now you know you regret it..."

"I only regret marrying you." Liu Fen, holding the child in her arms, turned around and said calmly, word by word, "I only regret not divorcing you sooner."

“You…” Liu Jianjun stared at her in astonishment.

Liu Fen, holding the child, turned and walked away step by step.

As he watched that slender figure disappear from his sight step by step, Liu Jianjun felt a sense of emptiness in his heart.

It was as if something was gradually slipping out of his control… (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
