Chapter 22 The Enemy Who Killed His Parents (4/4)

Su Wantang got up and pushed open the door, only to see Wei Juan looking disheveled and in a terrible state.

Although it had only been four days since they last met, Wei Juan had become noticeably thinner. Her small face was deathly pale, her hair was disheveled, and there were deep bruises under her eyes. Her arms and legs also bore purplish-blue marks from being beaten.

It seems she hasn't been having a good time these past few days.

"What's wrong with you?" Su Wantang frowned, quickly helped Wei Juan up, and led her into the house.

“Sister…” Wei Juan’s voice was extremely hoarse, her eyes were red, and large tears fell down her cheeks.

Su Wantang then noticed that Wei Juan's walking posture was extremely strange; she was using only one leg with weakness, while the other leg was half-dragging.

"What happened to your leg? Who hit you?" Su Wantang's expression darkened as she stared intently at her. "Was it your half-sister or your father?"

Wei Juan stared at Su Wantang through her tears, her pale and thin face streaked with tears. "It was Wei Zhentian... Wei Zhentian tried to kill me..."

"It's ironic, really. If Wei Lili hadn't stopped him, I probably would have been beaten to death by him."

"Then he doesn't care about your father-daughter relationship at all." Su Wantang looked at her with heartache. "Come on, I'll take you to the hospital first."

"Wait here for me a moment, I'm going to ride my bicycle."

As she spoke, Su Wantang walked quickly toward the bicycles in the yard. She rode her bicycle swiftly toward Wei Juan and parked it to the side.

Then Su Wantang quickly walked over to Wei Juan, helped her onto the back seat of the bicycle.

"Sit down slowly. Yes, like this." After seeing Wei Juan sit down steadily, Su Wantang took a long stride, sat on the front seat of the bicycle, and pedaled hard forward.

"Hold on to my waist, don't fall off the bike," Su Wantang said to Wei Juan behind her, firmly gripping the handlebars.

"Mmm." Wei Juan responded in a muffled voice, her trembling arm, bruised and battered, stiffly and slowly wrapping around Su Wantang's waist.

Wei Juan gently pressed her face against Su Wantang's back, pressing her entire body against Su Wantang's.

She felt a warmth gradually flowing through her limbs and bones.

The beautiful older woman saved her life, cared for her, and took her to the hospital...

Even Wei Zhentian didn't care about his injuries or take him to the hospital for a check-up.

Even Wei Zhentian himself broke his own leg.

He, as a father, was less caring and attentive to me than a stranger I'd only met twice.

Such a person is not worthy of being her father.

"Hang in there, we'll be at the hospital soon," Su Wantang said softly.

"Mmm." Wei Juan nodded, her face pale.

Soon Su Wantang rode the bicycle to the hospital. She helped Wei Juan off the back seat, then propped the bicycle up on the road, took a lock from the basket, and locked the bicycle tires.

"Come on, I'll take you to see a doctor," Su Wantang said softly, squeezing Wei Juan's hand.

At this moment, Su Wantang was backlit, holding her hand tightly. Her palm was soft and warm, and the warmth seemed to reach her heart through her palm.

Wei Juan gazed deeply at Su Wantang and nodded gratefully. (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
