The second sister brought over a large bowl of shrimp and invited Lu's mother and her husband to join her, otherwise it would be too awkward for them to stay alone.

In the kitchen, Yu Yin and her third aunt were the head chefs, while the others assisted. Soon, the aroma of sweet and sour pork ribs wafted out!

Yu Yin originally planned to invite only her second sister's family and Grandpa and Grandma Lu, but Lu Shurui said that since it was the first time they were cooking in their new home, they didn't know what to do and sent letters to each family.

Yu Yin was surprised that Lu's mother and Wang Mengyao could come; she really didn't understand.

You are all doing a great job!" Grandpa said what he needed to say, without adding anything else. He picked up his chopsticks and took a bite of food, and everyone else started eating as well.

With such a sumptuous meal, which we don't even get to eat during the Chinese New Year, we have no time to talk about anything else.

Lu Shurui drank some rice wine brewed by Yu Yin with his grandfather, while Lu's father and third uncle drank some baijiu (Chinese liquor). His second brother-in-law took a liking to Yu Yin's wine and shared a glass with his eldest brother. Shuqi was the most relaxed, eating heartily by himself, while Lu Shukang was the most uncomfortable, feeling uneasy about everything.

At the children's table, the two older children from Brother Lu's family ate very politely, while Zhuangzhuang and Ping'an from Second Sister's family were familiar with each other and ate happily. Only Lu Shukang's son ate ravenously, spilling rice grains all over the floor.
