Dreaming Back to the 70s: Divine Beasts at Home

A TV drama from the 90s was once the origin of Yu Yin's nightmares, and its ending theme song deeply influenced her.

Yu Yin's childhood was filled with the sounds of her parents argui...

Chapter 184 The garden villa is in hand, and Yu Yin has another property certificate!

After storing the money in their spatial storage, the two of them got up to prepare dinner, as the children would be returning from their great-grandmother's soon.

Yu Yin could tell that Lu Shurui really liked that study, and the smile never left her face.

Over the years, Yu Yin has come to know Lu Shurui quite well. He has no material desires; his only interest is in books. That huge study can hold all his books, and there will be room for any more books he buys in the future.

When the children arrived home, Lu Shurui and his parents had already prepared the meal. The children noticed that their parents were in unusually good spirits and wondered what had happened.

"Mom and Dad, why do you both look so happy? Is there something good happening?"

"Nothing much, I just went to see a movie with your dad."

Yu Yin didn't want to tell the children that she hadn't received the property certificate yet, in case something unexpected happened and she was disappointed.

"Really?" An An expressed doubt, feeling that the truth was not like that.

"It really is real, even more real than gold!"

Yu Yin managed to fool the children, and they stopped asking about it.

That night, Yu Yin was too excited to sleep and tossed and turned in bed.

"Don't think about it anymore, go to sleep. You can get excited after you finish the procedures tomorrow!"

"I can't sleep. Every time I close my eyes, I see that garden villa, and it keeps spinning in my mind."

Yu Yin couldn't control herself. Really, every time she closed her eyes, she saw that garden villa, inside and outside, different scenes switching in her mind!

Yu Yin was very excited. She was no longer that poor, homeless girl. Now she had her own big house, a husband, children, and a warm home.

As I thought about it, tears started flowing without me even realizing it.

"Okay, let's stop thinking about it. Let's forget about the past and only remember the happy things."

Lu Shurui hugged Yu Yin, letting her rest in his arms and release all her sadness.

"Hmm, I don't want to think about it anymore!"

Yu Yin snuggled against Lu Shurui, her voice still nasal.

The two, standing very close together, felt their body temperature slowly rising. At that age, like wolves and tigers, their passion was easily ignited. That night, Yu Yin no longer had the spinning house in her mind; there was only this man!

In the morning, Lu Shurui got up, made breakfast for the children, and sent them off to school. He then rode his bicycle to school to ask for a day off for himself and Yu Yin.

After getting up and tidying up, Yu Yin felt much better than she had in a long time. After having children, couples often drift into a "long-married couple" dynamic, lacking passion.

"Get up, come and eat, it'll be time soon."

After a different night, both of them felt that something was amiss, but they couldn't quite put their finger on it.

After dinner, Lu Shurui rode his bicycle with Yu Yin to the housing management office, where Brother Liang and Mr. Wang were already there.

Yu Yin went inside to find Brother Jiang; she had already spoken to him yesterday.

"Yu Yin, you're here."

"Brother Jiang, we'll have to trouble you again to take a look at these documents. We want to process the transfer of ownership."

Jiang Peng took the documents and began to read them carefully.

This property was only recently returned; I never expected Yu Yin to be so lucky to run into this. Jiang Peng has worked at the housing management office for so many years, and not just in Shanghai, but even in their district, there aren't many villas with complete paperwork.

"The paperwork is complete, and the transfer can proceed."

Yu Yin and Liang Chao both breathed a sigh of relief; they had finally gotten the house.

Holding her property certificate, Yu Yin suppressed her excitement and went to the bank with Mr. Wang to deposit the money into his account.

He wanted cash because he didn't want the hassle of bank transfers. He also needed to exchange foreign currency and some gold.

After the money was handed over, Yu Yin and the other two returned to the garden villa.

"This house will belong to you from now on. I'm leaving today. Before I go, I'll take you to see the secret room in this house. Well, it's not really a secret room, just a large underground storage room. There were outsiders there yesterday, so I can't tell you."

After Mr. Wang finished speaking, he led them to the backyard, where the courtyard wall was made of blue bricks and was about three meters high. Yu Yin didn't look closely and followed Mr. Wang to a section of the wall.

"There's an underground storage room under this bluestone slab. It's not very big, and I haven't been down there in a long time. Make sure to ventilate it before you go down."

Yu Yin and the others didn't plan to see it now; they weren't that curious. She had her own space, so this wasn't very useful to her.

"Okay, thank you!"

Lu Shurui saw Mr. Wang off, watching him leave with many turns back.

Is leaving one's hometown really a good thing?

"What?"

Yu Yin didn't hear clearly.

"I said, seeing Mr. Wang leave so reluctantly, is going abroad really a good idea?"

"It's a personal choice. They might be afraid of another sporting event, or they might feel that there are more opportunities for development abroad."

Yu Yin wanted to say, "This is nothing. The real craze for going abroad started in the 1990s. Everyone wanted to go abroad, thinking that the moon was rounder overseas than in China."

Whether those who dug tunnels to get out regret it later is something only they know.

I remember a legend from later generations, but I don't know if it's true or not.

Those who sold their ancestral property and went abroad years ago washed dishes overseas for over ten years. When they returned with their hard-earned money to show off, they discovered that their money couldn't even buy back a fraction of their ancestral property. After weeping bitterly, they slunk back to washing dishes.

Whatever, I'm not going abroad anyway, I should think about how to renovate my garden villa!

Lu Shurui was already wandering around his study. This was the first time Yu Yin had seen Comrade Lu Shurui so concerned about material possessions.

"Yinyin, these bookshelves are all made of mahogany. They're not the best, but they're not bad either."
