A TV drama from the 90s was once the origin of Yu Yin's nightmares, and its ending theme song deeply influenced her.
Yu Yin's childhood was filled with the sounds of her parents argui...
In the warm spring of March, the flowers bloom even more beautifully!
The fruit trees that Yu Yin exchanged with Sister Wang have started to bloom. Although they are not covered in flowers, they can still yield a good harvest of fruit.
Ping An An is now ten months old and can walk a few steps while holding onto things.
An'an is a mischievous girl with an extremely strong sense of curiosity. Whenever she has a spare moment, she'll sneak around, and the daycare teachers have to put a lot of effort into taking care of her.
Another day off, the family of four are all busy with their own things.
Yu Yin sat in front of the sewing machine, making clothes for her two little ones. The children were growing quickly, so she had to make clothes frequently. There was plenty of fabric at home, so Yu Yin didn't make the clothes too big. The temperature here was high, so they wore short sleeves, shorts, or sleeveless tops and bibs, which wasn't difficult.
The two little ones were playing with toys in the bamboo bed, including toy cars and dolls sent by Sister Lu, and cloth tigers and rattan balls brought by A Xiang...
Lu Shurui sat on a recliner by the bamboo couch, reading a book. Occasionally, he would look up at Yu Yin, who was busy operating the sewing machine, smile, and then look back down at his book.
Another batch of vegetables in the yard has ripened: red persimmons, purple eggplants, green bitter melons… Small red flowers sway among the brambles surrounding the cane, along with some mosquito-repellent and insect-repellent herbs planted by Yu Yin. Everything is thriving and full of life!
If it weren't for Ping An'an's sudden crying, the family would still be enjoying the beautiful spring scenery.
"Wow..."
"Ah, ah...waaaah..."
Yu Yin was startled by the child's crying and almost pricked her hand.
"What's wrong? Why are you crying all of a sudden?"
Yu Yin jogged over, and Lu Shurui, holding a baby bottle, was trying to suppress a laugh, looking like he was about to burst into laughter at any moment.
"Hehe... Pingping and the other two got tired of playing and lay there grabbing their feet. I went to get them some water. Just as I got there, Pingping's little penis sprayed a stream of pee upwards, all over his face. Pingping was probably startled and started crying. As soon as he moved, another stream of pee landed on An'an's face, and now they're both crying."
Yu Yin imagined the scene at that time, and it was quite funny.
It was hot, so Yu Yin dressed her two children in bibs without pants underneath, leaving them completely exposed.
The two stopped watching the spectacle and quickly picked up one child each to wash them. An'an sobbed, looking very aggrieved, refusing to look at her brother and still angry.
Pingping felt wronged and didn't know how things had happened, so she was a little at a loss.
Together they cleaned the two little ones up and changed their clothes. With Dad watching over them, Yu Yin had to take out the wet pads and hang them out to dry. Ugh, the smell…
The joy of soothing children lies in the uncertainty of what will happen next; you can never predict what surprises or frights an innocent human infant might give you.
Not long after Pingping's incident, An'an also contributed some amusing anecdotes that left people both laughing and crying.
After dinner, Pingping was fiddling with his toy cars, while An'an got impatient and started playing in the bamboo bed, wanting to escape.
She stood holding onto the railing, her eyes darting around, trying to find a gap to squeeze through—something she was good at. Unfortunately, the railing was too tight, leaving no opening for her. Frustrated, she circled the railing twice, patting it with her hands and calling out, "Ah, ah, Dad, Mom..."
"An'an, what's wrong?"
"Ah, ah..."
An'an can only pronounce simple words, "Dad, Mom, Ah, No..." Other words are beyond her ability, so she can only point outwards with her hand.
"An'an, do you want to come out?"
"Ah, ah."
An'an seemed to understand, and even nodded.
Yu Yin picked An'an up and put her little shoes on. An'an was wearing long pants with a tight crotch today, so she wasn't worried about An'an sitting on the ground.
An'an was overjoyed when she came out, holding her mother's hand and wandering around.
Yu Yin bent down and held An'an under her armpits, leading her forward as her legs twitched. One moment she was heading west, trying to pick flowers, and once she got one, she put it in her mouth. The next she was heading east, clucking at the hens in the coop, as if trying to outshout them.
Ouch, Yu Yin felt like her back was about to break; she was so tired. An An, on the other hand, wasn't tired at all and was having a lot of fun, constantly directing others to run in different directions.
"Oh dear, An'an, Mommy's back is killing me. You should rest for a while too, and Mommy needs to straighten up."
Yu Yin carried An An back to the recliner in the middle of the yard and let her lie down and rest for a while.
"An'an, lie here for a while. Mom will get you and your brother some water. Don't get down. Mom will be right back."
"Ah, ah..."
"Mom will take that as a promise, and you have to keep it."
Yu Yin quickly went to the kitchen to pour water for the two little ones, but actually she was going to give them spiritual spring water. Since six months had passed, Yu Yin had been giving Ping An and An An spiritual spring water, and it had worked well; the two little ones were in good health and rarely got sick.
Yu Yin had just filled the baby bottle with spiritual spring water when she left the kitchen, and Lu Shurui also came downstairs.
"Is it all approved?"
"Hmm, where's the child?"
"Pingping is playing with toys in the bamboo bed, and An'an is lying on the recliner. I'll get them some water."
The two walked into the courtyard together, but An'an was nowhere to be seen on the recliner.
"Oh, where's An'an? I told her she couldn't get down from up there, and she agreed."
Yu Yin was terrified. Where had An An gone in such a short time?
"Don't worry, the gate is closed. She can't get out, so she must have climbed somewhere else."
"Yes, yes, let's look for it."
The two searched around the yard and when they found the vegetable garden, An'an was sticking her little bottom out, holding a tomato in her hand, and they were having a little contest.
Yu Yin chuckled in exasperation. An'an had wanted to come over earlier, but Yu Yin was tired and hadn't given in. She hadn't expected the child to remember it and come looking for her herself; apparently, she'd taken a liking to the bright red tomatoes.
