From a life of blissful idleness, "naively sweet" Su Le unexpectedly transmigrates to the arduous 1970s and becomes the little darling of her family. It should have been another life of lei...
Everyone, including some soldiers, sat in the car tiredly, resting with their eyes closed. The bumpy road did not prevent anyone from sleeping.
The convoy arrived at night in an urban area near Tang City. Su Le and Xiong Ying gasped as beams of light illuminated their surroundings. Broken walls and ruins lay everywhere, the streets buried almost beyond recognition. Many survivors were trapped beneath the rubble, and faint cries for help could be heard from time to time. Su Le and the others were heartbroken.
The soldiers in front moved heavy bricks with their bare hands, and their hands were basically covered with blisters, but no one stopped or cried out in pain.
Someone shouted, "Comrades! Hurry up! These are our brothers and sisters down there. Every second we're faster means a little more hope for their survival." The man who seemed to be the leader, while diligently moving rocks, shouted encouragement to his comrades. His eyes were determined, his mind focused on rescuing the trapped people, no matter how much hardship it took.
Today's rescue equipment is very simple. There are no advanced life detectors, nor eyes with X-ray vision like Su Le's. Everyone can only rely on listening carefully and shouting to find a response.
A group of young soldiers crouched on the ruins, listening attentively for even the slightest sound. Every time they heard a sound, their hearts leaped with excitement, and they hurried to dig in the direction of the sound. Their hearts were filled with anxiety and anticipation, thinking, "Don't be too late!"
The people who were rescued consciously formed a logistics team and went wherever they were needed.
The team stopped again, and those who were asleep in the car opened their eyes and heard the sound. The soldiers jumped out of the truck and joined in.
The leader saw the convoy and shouted, "There's a road next to it that's already been cleared. Go that way."
Su Le got out of the car, followed by Xu Hu and the others. They opened the car doors and unloaded the supplies from above, emptying six and a half cars.
Su Le said to the drivers, "Continue to go to the supply and marketing cooperative to transport it over."
Su Le's consciousness also entered the space. Looking at the half-empty granary, he felt extremely fortunate that the rice, grain, and vegetables in his space were growing rapidly. Every few hours, they could be harvested and automatically replenished in the warehouse.
After everyone finished carrying the things, Zhang Liang and Zhang Yi started to make porridge. Soon, some of the people who had been rescued came to help.
A leader walked over from the rubble and saluted Su Le. "Hello, comrade, I am the commander of the Lion and Tiger Brigade. Thank you very much for the supplies you sent."
Su Le extended his hand. "Hello, Brigade Commander, I'm Su Le, from Jing City. My second and third brothers are also soldiers."
The brigade commander shook hands with Su Le, briefly chatted about the situation here, and then started the rescue.
Xiongying was still following behind Su Le, and his mission was to protect her at all times. Su Le saw that the porridge shed had been cleaned up, so he brought other people to join the rescue.
Medical personnel, carrying simple first aid kits, moved through the ruins, bandaging the wounds and treating the injuries of the injured.
You can also see a few old doctors wearing reading glasses, their techniques are skillful and steady.
After a day and night of hard work, many trapped people were successfully rescued. The number of people involved in the search and rescue increased, and the speed was significantly accelerated. The women consciously began to set up one porridge stall after another next to Zhang Liang, using the supplies brought by Su Le.
They took turns cooking and distributing the porridge.
Su Le asked Zhang Liang to start cooking rice instead of porridge, as porridge was not enough to satisfy hunger. However, the brigade commander shook his head and said, "There are too many people. This rice is not enough."
Su Le interrupted him, "How can we save people if we don't have enough food? I have the final say on my supplies! Aunties, you guys should be responsible for making some vegetables and some meat. Supply them to the soldiers first. Only when they are full can they have the strength to rescue more people!"
The aunties nodded repeatedly, "Okay, okay, Miss Su is such a good person."
Zhang Liang started to cook. Su Le took advantage of no one looking and added a lot of large bags of rice and put them aside.
The third wave of Su Le's supply trucks arrived. One truck contained clothes and quilts, and the rest was mostly rice, vegetables, and meat.
Everyone helped to unload the goods, and it was soon completed. Without Su Le saying anything, the drivers turned around and went back to continue transporting the goods.
That night, Su Le added a lot of things to the pile of food. In the morning, the driver returned with the supplies. Su Le said goodbye to the brigade commander, leaving for Tang City. The people thanked them profusely, though they had nothing to give. They simply bowed in gratitude.
Su Le and his men drove off along a side road. The brigade commander watched them leave.
The driver arrived in Tang City and saw the shattered ruins, the half-naked bodies, the horrific scene. Seeing the constantly busy army-green figures, Su Le's eyes moistened, and he called the commander.
The chief saw the incoming call and picked up the phone. Before he could say anything, he heard Su Le's voice, "Chief, I came with supplies, but was stopped outside."
The commander didn't bother to hang up the phone and ran to the tent headquarters. The others followed him, confused. They saw Su Le, Xu Hu and others, and the seven cars following behind them.
The leader ran and shouted, "Get out of the way, let them in!"
When the soldiers heard the sound, they quickly made way. Su Le and his men trotted along and stood face to face with their leader.
"Commander, unload the supplies from the vehicle first, let them go back, and then transport them here." Su Le said calmly.
The commander frowned and said, "We've already arranged for rescue operations. Let the people from the kitchen team come over to unload the cargo."
The person behind him pulled him and saw that the person who was originally behind Su Le had run to the car and was unloading the goods in an orderly manner.
