Chapter 15 "You did a great job."

"Pfft."

Desmond, who had been standing in the corner, suddenly burst into laughter, his teeth grinding together with a loud bang, as if his bones were about to shatter.

"..."

Ero gave him a dark look, seeing the mockery in his ancestor's eyes.

You seemed so indifferent before, you must have been completely misunderstood, right?

She had dragged Willy along to do research non-stop so that she could spend time with him, but he completely misunderstood her intentions.

Desmond was overjoyed at Eero's misfortune. He had no sympathy whatsoever for his descendant; the mute fellow deserved his fate.

He hasn't even bothered him yet!

I don't know why he suddenly withdrew his magic that night, leaving me standing there blankly all night.

The next day, my bones felt stiff!

“…I’m not worried about that,” Ero explained.

"You..." He hesitated, then finally managed to speak, "Aren't you really sad?"

He practically said outright that he cared about Willy.

Vili didn't react immediately and blinked.

"real."

Seeing that his mentor still looked worried, he added:

“I don’t care at all who Aiden is with.”

"He... isn't he your fiancé?" Ero's voice was a little hoarse.

The sound of pen tip scratching on paper filled the air, but Willy continued taking notes without a care in the world, his replies somewhat absent-minded.

"Yes. But it's just an arranged marriage by our elders. If it could be dissolved..."

What would happen if it could be lifted?

"That would be perfect."

Vili stopped writing, picked up his notebook and showed it to Eero, raising his eyebrows smugly.

"Advisor, I've finished writing!"

Ero didn't look at him, but stood there blankly.

So that's what he was really thinking?

He doesn't like his fiancé at all... If the engagement is broken off, then it's his freedom to be with whomever he wants, right?

"tutor?"

Ero has fallen into his own little world again. He seems to be like this all the time these days, sometimes even staring blankly at Vili.

Vili guessed that this might be a characteristic of his mentor's personality.

He walked over as if it were a routine, stood on tiptoe, and patted his mentor on the shoulder.

Ero seemed startled and quickly looked over.

Willie handed over the notebook again.

Ero bent down and took it, their fingers briefly touching. Vili was somewhat surprised; the other's hand, usually as cold as a corpse, was now warm.

Elro quickly glanced at his notes and nodded.

"You did a great job..."

He looked into Willy's eyes, those silver gem eyes that seemed to be under a bewitching spell, sparkling so brightly that it was impossible to look away.

Looking at Willy's face, he repeated it again.

"You did a great job."

For the first time, he reached out and touched Willy, brushing his hair behind his ear. Willy was a little uncomfortable, but out of trust in his mentor, he did not flinch.

"Leave the rest to me."

I will clear all obstacles for you, and I will help you get whatever you want, but there is only one condition.

Vili, always look at me with those clear eyes.

-

When Vili left Ero's laboratory, it was already late, and the streets were deserted, with only the glow of the streetlights quietly illuminating him.

He could have chosen to use teleportation magic to go back, but he enjoyed the feeling of walking alone.

It was winter, and it was snowing when he arrived in the morning. When he left, the snow was still falling, and a thin layer of snow had accumulated on the road. Vili walked with his head down, looking at his footprints, his steps as light as if he were dancing.

Da, da, da.

stop.

"Tsk."

Willy, who had been in a very pleasant mood, suddenly stopped, lowered his head and stood still, letting the snowflakes fall on his shoulders and melt little by little.

After an unknown amount of time, no strange noises came from the sparsely populated street, but Willy sighed heavily.

He shouted loudly:

"Come out, do I have to invite you?"

All was silent.

The weather had gotten cold, and Willy stretched out his hands, which were a little red from the cold, and gently blew on them.

The heat magic took effect immediately. Vili shook his fluffy head to shake off the snowflakes, then strode forward.

This time, his steps were no longer halting, but extremely fast, as if he were being chased by something. In the end, he even sped up, until he disappeared without a trace after turning a corner into an alley.

Those who had been silently following behind him were startled and quickly caught up.

"Don't move."

He couldn't see anyone, but he could feel a cold, sharp weapon pressed against his waist.

Unbeknownst to him, Willy puffed out his cheeks in annoyance. He had originally intended to stab the guy in the neck, but he had misjudged the situation; the guy in front of him was so tall that he had to change his position to threaten him.

What did this guy eat to grow up like this? How come he's so much taller than him?

He became even more upset at the thought, and his tone turned harsh.

What do you do?

Seeing that the man didn't answer or even move, Vili's mood worsened, and he plunged the knife in even deeper.

He had just redeemed this from the system. Although it wasn't very convenient to use, it seemed to have more impact than threatening people with magic.

But to his surprise, the knife didn't even tear the man's clothes, yet he let out a muffled groan, which was particularly noticeable in the quiet night.
