As the greatest magician of this century, Veili has captured a new pet—a little thing that calls itself a system and can transport people across worlds. Recalling the men who chased him nonstop, ...
When he actually touched him, Willy realized that the seemingly slender man was actually quite well-built; he could feel the full muscles under his hand.
Thinking about it, I couldn't help but pinch him.
Adrian's expression finally changed. He grunted and pressed down on Vili with his free hand.
“Vili”.
He called out the other person's name helplessly.
"I'm still outside your window right now, it's not good if others see me like this."
"Let's go inside and continue."
"..."
Oh no, he got his pleasure.
Vili's expression changed, and he quickly withdrew his hand. Adrian took the opportunity to step in, his movements very elegant.
Vili crossed his arms and glanced at His Holiness the Holy Son. After thinking for a moment, in order to make up for his height disadvantage, he turned around, pushed off with both hands, and jumped onto the table, sitting down on it.
This way, his line of sight was finally level with the other person's.
He didn't say anything more, clearly waiting to hear Adrian's explanation.
"Um……"
Adrian was quite conflicted; he hadn't expected the kitten to be so perceptive, noticing it so quickly.
He had already been very restrained.
"Consider this... payment for watching over the house?"
Did I invite you?
Vili sneered.
"That……"
"Just consider it as if I bought it."
Adrian smiled and took out a gem from behind his back, handing it to Vili as if to claim credit.
"Do you think I want every kind of gem?"
Willie turned his head away haughtily, but his hands betrayed his true intentions.
He held the gem in his hand, turning it around and examining it. The more he looked at it, the more familiar it seemed. The next second, his eyes widened in surprise.
"This is the gem on the magic meter!"
Adrian nodded, and seeing Willy's happy expression made him feel that his busy days had been worthwhile.
"Okay, I forgive you."
This is the first gem that Willy has set his sights on in this world, so it is quite meaningful to him.
However, he still decided that next time before leaving the dormitory, he must draw a protective magic circle, preferably the kind that would pierce a thousand arrows if an outsider broke in...
Adrian suddenly felt a chill down his spine.
Willy carefully put the things into his pocket, perhaps without realizing it himself, because of his pleasant mood, his calves, which were dangling in the air, were unconsciously swinging.
Adrian controlled his gaze, preventing it from lingering on those lovely feet.
After putting the things away, Willie immediately turned his back on him.
What are you doing here?
Adrian, however, paid no heed to his rude attitude and said gently:
"Can't I just come to see you?"
Seeing that the boy narrowed his eyes dangerously, as if he was about to extend his claws at any moment, he wisely changed his words.
"I thought you were still at home and hadn't come back yet, so I wanted to find a quiet place to stay for a while."
As he spoke, he lowered his head slightly, his white hair obscuring his face, making it impossible to discern his expression.
Vili looked at him for a while, and then suddenly realized.
"I see."
"So you're almost losing control of the balance between dark and light magic within you."
Adrian suddenly looked up, losing his composure for the first time in front of Vili.
"you--"
"Why are you in such a hurry?"
Vili, however, ignored the momentary wariness he showed and continued to ask questions while swinging his leg.
"..."
His clear eyes were like a mirror, tearing away the disguise of the person in front of him and reflecting all of Adrian's unbearable flaws.
The air seemed to stand still. Perhaps it was a biological instinct, but Il instinctively arched his back at Adrian, his fur bristled, and his pupils narrowed into thin slits, as if he were about to attack at any moment.
Adrian didn't look at it, but stared blankly at Vili.
Vili, however, seemed completely oblivious to the atmosphere, though he was absolutely certain he could evade Adrian's attack—if he actually did.
After what seemed like an eternity, perhaps ten minutes, Adrian finally relaxed his tense body and gave a wry smile.
"Really... nothing can be hidden from you."
He looked directly into Willy's eyes, slowly removed his ever-present white gloves, and pulled open his right sleeve, revealing extremely hideous and ugly purplish-black scars from the back of his hand to his forearm.
No one would have guessed that His Holiness the Holy Son, who always wore a gentle smile, actually struggled painfully in bed every night, enduring the burning pain on his arms.
The purple scar also had long red stripes, which he had cut himself with a knife in extreme pain.
Countless times, in those drenched nights of sweat, he contemplated cutting off his own arm or slitting his own throat.
One day, in Willie's dormitory, he finally couldn't bear it any longer. Stumbling and staggering, he instinctively opened the boy's wardrobe and buried himself inside.
Lost in the other's scent, he slept soundly for the first time.
From that moment on, he could never leave.
Vili had no idea what kind of madness was hidden beneath the calm gaze of the man before him; he was simply examining the horrific scar.
"...Isn't that scary?"
Adrian couldn't stand the boy's gaze; he was afraid that he would see fear or disgust in the boy's eyes the next second.
For the first time, he wanted to run away.
But just as he was about to pull his hand away, Vili grabbed him.
"Wait, I haven't finished reading yet."
This was the first time he had ever seen such severe aftereffects.
In their world, everyone is an all-around magician. Although each person has their own area of expertise, there is never a time when learning a certain type of magic is forbidden.
