Upon hearing this, Su Li felt an urge to tear the woman to pieces.

"Zhang Cui, what do you want? Whatever you want, as long as you don't hurt my baby, I'll give it to you."

In front of Su Li, Zhang Cui twisted the child's thigh. Su Li noticed that the child's leg was badly injured.

Her eyes instantly turned red; how much pain the baby must be in!

The baby's legs were bruised and battered from being pulled, and her heart ached terribly.

Once the baby is rescued, she promises to hold onto her and repay her for all the pain tenfold or a hundredfold.

Will you give me anything I want?

Zhang Cui looked at Hui Su Li and smiled.

Su Li quickly replied, "I'll give it to you, as long as you give me back the child, I'll agree to anything you ask."

Zhang Cui revealed a smug smile: "Then wait a moment, let's talk when Gu Huanian arrives."

Su Li tried to get a little closer to Zhang Cui, and Zhang Cui immediately became alert.

Having worked as a nanny at Su Li's house for some time, she had come to know Su Li quite well.

Her fighting skills are no less than a man's, so she can't let her get close to her.

She lifted the child above her head; "If you come any closer, I'll throw the child away."

Su Li quickly stopped in her tracks, her voice trembling, "I'm not moving, don't be impulsive."

Seeing that Su Li had stopped, Zhang Cui hit the child's head again with the baby bottle in her hand.

The child was crying so hard she could barely breathe, and Su Li's heart was breaking. She vowed to make her suffer.

Su Li said to Gou Sheng, "Go and urge Gu Huanian to come quickly."

She was genuinely angry because he arrived late and her son got beaten again.

Just as Gou Sheng reached the door, he saw Gu Huanian arrive. As soon as he arrived, he heard the child crying so hard he could hardly breathe.

Feeling distressed, he quickly ran into the yard.

Seeing the scene before him, Gu Huanian remained relatively calm and said to Zhang Cui, "What exactly do you want to do? Do you know that you are committing a crime?"

When Zhang Cui saw him arrive, her smile widened even more; "Gu Huanian, you've come. Today I'm going to let you experience what it means to suffer excruciating pain."

As she spoke, she made a move as if to throw the child, and everyone's hearts tightened at her action.

"Don't touch the child. You called me here because you need me to do something!"

"As expected of Battalion Commander Gu, he guessed my intention immediately."

"I want to see her stab you. How about that? Not too difficult, right?"

Gu Huanian nodded and said, "Okay, are you sure you'll let my child go if I let Su Li stab me?"

Of course, Zhang Cui would not let the child off so easily; she wanted them all to die a horrible death and be buried with her son.

Zhang Cui looked at Gu Huanian with malice and said, "Do you have any other choice? If you don't listen to me, I'll kill your son right now."

Gu Huanian quickly said, "No, don't touch him. If you have any problems, come at me."

"Then what are you all standing there for? Go get the dagger now. If you keep dawdling here, I'll kill your children right now."

Gu Huanian pulled a dagger from his calf, a dagger he always carried for self-defense.

He handed the dagger to Su Li; "Li, do it!"

Su Li gripped the dagger, her eyes fixed on Zhang Cui, while her hand covered the child's mouth.

She was heartbroken to see this; "Don't cover the child's mouth, I'll do it right now."

Su Li's hands trembled violently. Gu Huanian gave her a look, and the tip of her knife moved closer and closer to Gu Huanian.

Zhang Cui watched Su Li's actions and was incredibly excited.

Son, can you see this from heaven? Your mother has avenged you.

Today I will make them pay with their lives.

The moment the sword pierced Gu Huanian's body, a gunshot rang out in the courtyard.

Su Li released the knife from her hand and walked towards Zhang Cui's direction.

Gousheng reacted faster than her and luckily caught the child.

Su Li breathed a sigh of relief and quickly took the child from Gou Sheng's arms.

The child had cried until he fainted, and Zhang Cui had knocked several bumps on his head.

Su Li looked him up and down; his whole body was covered in bruises from being pinched by that woman Zhang Cui.

Except for the soles of his feet, the baby's entire body was covered in skin.

Su Li felt heartbroken and tears streamed down her face. She hugged the child and kissed his cheek, saying, "Baby, I'm so sorry. Mommy is so sorry. I'll take you to the hospital now."

"Battalion Commander, are you alright?"

Upon hearing this voice, Gu Huanian remembered that he had tried to distract Zhang Cui earlier.

She stabbed Gu Huanian in the back.

There was a pool of blood beneath him. Su Li, carrying the child, walked over and said to the man who had just shot Zhang Cui, "Could you please help me get her to the hospital?"

Without thinking of anything else, she held the child and said to Gou Sheng, "Get your bike out here, we're going to the hospital now."

Gou Sheng hurriedly pushed the car out. Su Li's heart was now entirely focused on the child, and she couldn't care about anything else.

Thinking that Gu Huanian had so many comrades-in-arms, she shouldn't need to worry about him. The most important thing now was to get the baby to the hospital.

On the way, taking advantage of the fact that Gou Sheng couldn't see behind them and there was no one around, Su Li secretly fed the child some spiritual spring water.

The baby must have cried himself to exhaustion, because he's been incredibly well-behaved in Su Li's arms.

Even while asleep, she rubbed her face against her mother's chest, probably because she smelled the familiar scent on her mother.

His little mouth kept rolling around in Su Li's arms; he must be hungry.
