A car accident caused Su Hua to transmigrate into a thirteen-year-old foolish girl in Shanghe Village of the Great Yu Dynasty.

Chapter 159: A Bountiful Harvest

"Catching fish?! Making fish balls?" Su Sanhu exclaimed in surprise, his tiger eyes widening in astonishment.

He had never heard of these fish balls before, but he knew exactly how clever the fish in the river were. Ever since the three brothers grew taller than the river, they had often stayed by the river to catch fish, but over the years, they had never managed to catch anything.

If you manage to touch a small fish about the thickness of a finger, you're already incredibly lucky.

What normal little sister would start talking about fishing as soon as she opens her mouth?

Moreover, she was using two bamboo baskets to scoop fish; did she think this was her own fishpond?

Su Dahu was also somewhat surprised, but he obediently followed behind Su Hua without making a sound. Ever since Hua'er turned the snails that chickens and ducks ate into flavored snails and even inspired a group of farmers to sell stir-fried snail meat, he had a clear understanding of her style of doing things.

He doesn't speak easily, but when he does, he makes sure it's accomplished.

Su Hua felt the gazes of the two people behind her, but did not explain much. Instead, she walked to the riverbank, squatted down, took out a small bamboo tube from her sleeve, poured out two round fish balls, and handed them to the two men. "Big brother, third brother, put a big stone in each of the two bamboo baskets, then put this bait into the baskets and sink them into the river."

The Su brothers took the meatballs.

The meatballs were about the size of bird eggs, completely black, with many pits and bumps on the outermost layer. They didn't look very good at all. But when you held them in your hand, you could clearly smell the fragrance emanating from them. The fragrance was like that of flowers, but a bit sweeter and more elegant than that of flowers.

Su Sanhu stroked the meatball with his large hand, and couldn't help but lick his lips.

"Hua'er, can we humans eat this bait?"

As soon as the boy finished speaking, two unusually excited, coquettish voices followed.

"Woof! Woof woof!! Woof woof woof!!!"

"Roar! Meow!! Meow meow meow!!!"

Su Hua turned her head at the sound and saw her third brother holding a meatball, eager to try it out. At his feet, the two little dumplings, Xiao Hei and Da Bai, were also staring intently at the meatball, as if they would put two meatballs into their mouths as soon as she nodded.

Her lips twitched as she watched, and she quickly snatched the meatballs and bamboo basket from his hands.

Tie the bamboo basket handle tightly with hemp rope, put in fish bait balls, and then lift a fist-sized stone to weigh down the bottom of the basket.

Then, with quick reflexes, he placed the bamboo basket into the river.

After finishing all this, he coughed lightly and said in a serious tone, "This bait is specially prepared for fish. It contains medicinal herbs to attract fish, just like the fish food we usually use to bait the area when fishing. Neither humans nor animals can eat it. If you want to eat it, I will make some pills for you next time."

After a moment of silence, he raised his hand and patted the two little ones' heads.

She coaxed him gently, "These meatballs smell good, but they don't taste good at all. I'll make you fish soup when we catch a big fish later."

Just kidding, this so-called bait was nothing more than something she hastily made by grabbing some black mud and mixing it with water droplets from the ground in her spatial dimension after hearing that there wasn't enough pig offal.

Even someone who isn't stupid would have a dozen or so kidney stones if they ate such a large lump of black mud.

When Xiao Hei and Da Bai saw the smelly meatballs fall into the river, they originally wanted to jump in and retrieve them, but after their owner rubbed their foreheads, they instantly squinted their eyes in comfort and completely forgot about the meatballs.

"No, no need." Su Sanhu scratched his head and smiled.

He was just a little distracted by the aroma; he wouldn't actually try to steal food from the fish!

As they were talking, they followed Su Dahu's example and put the remaining bamboo basket into the river.

It happened almost the instant the bamboo basket fell into the water.

The calm, still river began to make soft, rustling sounds. The mottled surface of the river was split open from the middle by a large object, and the sound of the waves gradually approached from afar.

"This...this is a big fish?"

Su Sanhu stared at the dark blue backs reflected in the river, then stumbled and fell onto the grass, his eyes filled with shock.

Su Dahu couldn't help but swallow hard.

He had lived at the end of the village for nineteen years and had never seen so many big fish. Even the few big grass carp that Xiao Jinhan had sent earlier were far less shocking than what he was seeing now.

Only Su Hua, with her almond-shaped eyes, quietly looked at the bamboo baskets on the riverbank. The two bamboo baskets she brought were the large baskets she usually used to store wild vegetables and weeds. But the fish in the river had very keen noses and swarmed into the bamboo baskets. The larger fish even wriggled their bodies and fought for them inside the baskets.

The fish bumped against the basket, making a loud thud.

"Big brother, third brother, quickly pull the rope and lift the bamboo basket up." As she spoke, she took a few steps back to the shore, and with a sudden jerk of her hand on the rope, she pulled the basket out of the water.

The bluish-white fish scales shimmered in the setting sun.

Even though the fish knew they were out of the water, they still pointed their tails and squeezed towards the bottom of the basket, showing no intention of jumping out at all.

Seeing this, Su Dahu and Su Sanhu, disregarding their surprise, quickly tightened their grip on the rope.

"One, two, three, pull hard!"

Unlike Su Hua, who possessed superhuman strength, they were already drenched in sweat just pulling the bamboo basket from the bottom of the water to the surface, and then it took even more effort to pull it from the surface to the riverbank.

After pulling out the fish basket, he plopped down on the ground, panting heavily.

"Oh my god! Hua'er's bait is amazing!" Su Sanhu wiped the sweat from his forehead, lay on the grass and stared at the fish basket, grinning like a fool. "I've probably never seen so many fish in my life. Did we catch all the fish in this river?"

Unlike his second brother, who has a natural feel for numbers and weights and can tell roughly how heavy or light something is just by touching it, this basket alone weighs much more than he does, at least 150 or 160 pounds.
