Zhou Mo was the only child raised with great care, from a family everyone envied. Her parents were loving, the family harmonious, and she never had to worry about food or clothing.
However, all of this was destroyed by a sudden natural disaster. In a single night, she lost everything: her harmonious home and her loving parents.
She could not accept this outcome and stubbornly searched for traces of her family in the ruins.
Zhou Mo did not find her family, but she found an unwanted stray dog. She brought him home, cleaned him up, and began to deceive herself.
Yu Xi never thought he would survive the natural disaster. At the moment the disaster struck, people around him were fleeing in all directions, while he, wandering by the street, seemed out of place.
He did not know who pushed him, causing him to get stuck in a triangular dead end, unable to move, without a glimpse of daylight.
He did not know how much time had passed when a blood-stained hand suddenly pierced through the light and entered his eyes.
In reality, he could see nothing at that time; the prolonged darkness had stripped him of his ability to see. But whenever he recalled it, he still felt as though he had seen something.
Zhou Mo felt that Yu Xi was a rather disobedient dog who liked to feign compliance and run away. Fortunately, she knew the weakness of all rebellious people: a lack of love. So, she wove a beautiful dream named "home" for Yu Xi, and she slowly sank into this dream herself.
Yu Xi felt that Zhou Mo was a very strange girl. Although she was a year younger than him, she always acted and spoke with the tone of an adult. Sometimes he really felt he should call Zhou Mo "Mom," a very strange feeling, considering his own mother had been dead for over a decade.
The two lived an indifferent life, but life was far more difficult than the two teenagers imagined. Differences in their growth experiences caused them to constantly produce friction and disagreements. In the end... they fell in love.
Yu Xi: Zhou Mo, let's get married next weekend.
Zhou Mo: Okay.
This is a small story about dependence that isn't exactly warm and cozy. Both characters have flaws and are not perfect people.
All plot points in the story are fictional. Please do not overanalyze.
In summary: Zhou Mo picked up a stray dog, raised it, and then set it free.
