Chapter Forty-Five: Office Building

"That makes sense." Qiao Xia clapped her hands; she had actually forgotten something so important.

Tony Zhang took a few steps forward, looking quite serious, but when he saw that Qiao Xia had no intention of stopping him, he became anxious. "Do you even have any taste? How can you not keep someone as talented as me?"

Qiao Xia quickly said, "Yes, yes, yes! Like Julie, is an annual salary of 1 million okay?"

Tony Zhang shouted angrily, "Who wants money? Who wants money? What I want is an office, a spacious and bright office, an office that belongs to me!"

Qiao Xia rubbed her ears and asked good-naturedly, "Do you have any requirements regarding the location of the office building?"

Tony Zhang spread his arms and looked to the future, saying, "I want an office building in the city center, the kind where you can see Tiananmen Square from the building."

Qiao Xia nodded without hesitation, "Okay."

Tony Zhang tentatively said, "I not only want to be a stylist, but also to run a magazine."

Qiao Xia nodded and said, "Okay."

Tony Zhang continued, "I also want an entire floor of offices specifically for researching clothing."

"Okay, are there any other requirements?"

Tony Zhang shook his head.

Qiao Xia clapped her hands and said, "Come to work tomorrow."

Tony Zhang seemed to think she was joking, "I'm serious."

“I’m serious.” Qiao Xia spread her hands. “For a rich person like me, buying an office building is no big deal. If you don’t believe me, we can go see the property in a bit, but please wait outside for a moment.”

Tony Zhang left, turning back every few steps.

Qiao Xia crossed her arms and looked at Jack, "I know your abilities. Will you come with the same benefits and treatment as them?"

Jack gave a wry smile. "Aren't you going to ask me what happened?"

Qiao Xia shrugged. "If you wanted to tell me, you would have done so yourself."

Jack silently extended his hand, "Please take care of me in the future, Mr. Qiao."

The office building that Qiao Xia was interested in had 33 floors, each floor occupied 888 square meters, and each floor had a fixed tenant.

The original owner of the office building could collect tens of millions of yuan in rent every month. However, due to financial problems, Qiao Xia promised to pay 30 billion yuan within a week before the former owner was willing to sell.

Qiao Xia pointed to the four-character motto outside the building and said, "In the future, I want to hang the four characters 'Starry Sky Building' here, paint it with gold powder, and then install a 3D electronic screen on top that plays our company's artists on a loop every day."

Jack clapped enthusiastically, and Tony Zhang glared at him, mouthing "sycophant" before clapping along lightly.

Qiao Xia's arrival did not cause much of a stir. The lease does not break the sale, and many people did not even know that the building had changed owners. Even if they knew, it was just a matter of someone else paying rent.

The top three floors are still empty; they were left to the previous owner, who just hadn't had the chance to move in.

Qiao Xia naturally claimed the top floor as her own, and the two offices were just enough for her and her father to each have one.

The remaining area can be divided into various departments such as legal affairs, publicity, human resources, and administration. A tea room and swimming pool are also provided in the southeast corner for employees to rest.

The lower floor is for the artists, complete with practice rooms, a gym, and musical instruments such as pianos. This floor focuses on soundproofing to ensure it won't disturb others. The bottom floor is for Tony Zhang to run a magazine, as agreed.

His floor is currently the most popular, and the employees who used to work for him have been rehired, except that the person paying their salaries has changed.

Qiao Xia wasn't in a hurry to use the office space and continued to shuttle between the construction site and Qiao Palace as usual.

Some trainees complained that there were too few toilets and showers.

Even though the trainees consciously took showers at different times, it still took a lot of time, and by the end, there wasn't enough hot water.

Just then, Qiao Zhaoxing's bathhouse was completed, complete with a cinema, KTV, billiards, buffet, hot springs, sauna, and all kinds of food and entertainment.

The location was very close to the trainees' residences and not suitable for entertaining guests at the moment, so Qiao Zhaoxing simply decided not to open to the public until the end of the talent show.

However, this move has caused dissatisfaction among the local residents.

Sitting opposite Qiao Zhaoxing was a young lawyer wearing gold-rimmed glasses. "Mr. Qiao, as the developer, you have an obligation to provide basic supporting facilities to the residents."

Qiao Zhaoxing disliked his tone. "Didn't you sign a purchase contract with me back then? The reason I was willing to fulfill the agreement is because this land belongs to me. No matter what other demands you have, you shouldn't come to me."

Attorney Li quickly forced a smile. "Mr. Qiao, I think you've misunderstood us. We are very grateful that you stood up for us when the developer absconded. If you need us, I'd be happy to represent you in court against the former developer and get back the money that rightfully belongs to you."

Qiao Zhaoxing waved his hand, "There's no need."

Attorney Li smiled and praised, "Mr. Qiao is truly a man of high moral character. If we are willing to pay Mr. Qiao the property management fees, I wonder if Mr. Qiao would be willing to provide us with some recreational facilities?"

"Tell me in detail." Qiao Zhaoxing perked up. In all his years in business, this was the first time someone had ever been so eager to give him money.

Attorney Li, acting as the representative, accurately conveyed the residents' wishes. In short, they thought Qiao Zhaoxing's hot spring was good and hoped that he could open the first to third floors to the residents, who would then pay a certain amount of property management fees.

"If Mr. Qiao is interested, how about 35 per square meter per month?"

The small apartment building built by Qiao Zhaoxing occupies at least 400 square meters, and costs 35 yuan per square meter per month. Each household has to pay at least 14,000 yuan.

Qiao Zhaoxing didn't care much about the money, but he didn't want to miss this rare opportunity to make money.
