Song Ning transmigrated and found herself in an ancient era plagued by famine. Her family couldn't get enough to eat or warm clothes, and a group of problematic relatives were waiting to mock h...
As soon as the first rooster crowed in Nanshan Village, Song Dahai and Liu Yuelan got up. They planned to go later that day, as long as they arrived before noon.
But having made money yesterday, Song Dahai and Liu Yuelan couldn't sleep and got up early to get busy.
The first thing Song Ning did after getting up was to check on her chickens; the two chicks were already lively and energetic.
Liu Yuelan was worried: "We all went to town today, who will take care of these chickens?"
Song Ning had forgotten about this matter yesterday, and only remembered it after Liu Yuelan reminded him.
After thinking for a while, he said, "How about we let Aunt Zhao watch the house for a day?"
Aunt Zhao usually lives alone, so she should have time to come over.
"Then I'll go ask."
"If Aunt Zhao is willing to come, we'll give her two coins as a tip for her trouble. We can't let her help for nothing."
"Why."
When Aunt Zhao heard that she could earn two coins for watching over chickens for a few hours, she agreed without hesitation.
She doesn't have much to do at home most of the time. After her husband leaves, she has even less to do, except help feed the chickens, which doesn't take much effort.
"Don't worry, my husband and I will go together."
With the sun already rising, and considering that Nanshan Village was quite far from the town, Li Dani drove the car to the door, loaded all the things upstairs, and was about to set off.
"Don't worry, I'll take care of things at home," Aunt Zhao said with a smile.
The oxcart headed towards the village entrance. It was getting late, and they encountered many people along the way.
"Brother Dahai, where are we headed?"
Song Dahai glanced at Song Ning and said, "We've prepared some food at home and are thinking of going to town to try our luck."
Their family wants to start a business, and with so many eyes in the village watching, they can't hide it from them, nor do they intend to.
They do business and make money openly and honestly, and no one can stop them.
As the sun rose higher and the walking became hotter, we finally arrived in town.
Today wasn't market day, so the market stalls were easy to find. After unloading the goods from the cart, Li Daniu drove off.
Song Ning paid for half a day and went back to set up his stall.
It's almost 11 o'clock now, just in time for lunch.
Their stall had barely been set up, and before they could even call out a few times, people started arriving.
"I thought you weren't coming today."
Song Ning smiled and said, "Come on, we'll come every day unless there are special circumstances."
"Then quickly, give me a bowl."
We just arrived today and opened for business; the whole family is all smiles.
Many of the workers in the town come to the market to eat lunch around lunchtime.
When these people arrived and heard that there was liangpi (cold skin noodles), they all crowded around to ask.
"You can try it, everyone."
Upon hearing that there would be free samples, many people grabbed their bowls and ate just a couple of bites.
"This stuff is refreshing, perfect for summer. It'll cool you down. Give me a bowl!"
After Song Ning received the money, Liu Yuelan quickly cut up the food and brought it over.
Now that the weather is hot, many people are willing to spend three coins to buy a bowl of cold noodles. Some people may really be too poor to afford anything, so they come over, ask a few questions, and then leave.
"Mom, cut three more bowls of cold noodles."
Some people don't even need to sit down and wait to the side; they just pick up their chopsticks and start shoveling food into their mouths.
The area around the stall was filled with the sound of slurping, as everyone was eating with great relish, attracting the attention of many people.
They've done plenty today.
A man swallowed a mouthful of cold noodles and said gruffly, "When are you guys going to the south? When we were working over there, it was hard for us to even get a bite to eat."
The market is now located in the north of Shihe Town, where many people live; it's considered a residential area.
The south side has more shops and construction sites.
However, they are short-handed right now and can only take care of one aspect for the time being.
"I'll go when I have the chance later," Song Ning said with a smile.
The man was clearly disappointed. Shihe Town was quite large, and there was still some distance between the north and south sides. In this hot weather, it was indeed inconvenient to come all the way from his workplace.
Those who have tried it are left wanting more, but after all, a bowl costs three coins, and two bowls are a bit too expensive.
We just saw off one group of guests, and then those same people from yesterday arrived.
After replacing yesterday's buckets, Song Ning returned their deposit.
The leader glanced at the table behind him and asked with a smile, "We have a lot of people here today, is there enough food?"
"That's enough, sit down."
As soon as the caravan arrived, they devoured almost half of their cold noodles.
As soon as this group arrived, they filled up all the tables and chairs. Later, many more people came, but when they saw that the tables and chairs were full, they could only turn back.
This incident also served as a reminder to Song Ning.
Their current stall is small, can't seat many people, and they don't have enough manpower, so there are many limitations.
But there's nothing we can do now, what can we do when they're poor?
The group lingered after their meal, still wanting more. One of them even lamented, "We're leaving tomorrow, and I don't know when we'll be able to eat like this again..."
The leader slapped him across the face: "I bet you've had a couple of good days and you've forgotten where you came from? You're already reluctant to give it up?"
The man quickly shrank back, chuckled a few times, and scratched the back of his head.
Song Ning also learned that this group of people probably wouldn't be coming tomorrow.
"Young lady, your cold noodles are really good. It's a pity I can't take them with me, otherwise I would definitely take some with me."
"Then come eat here again next time you all come," Song Ning said with a smile.
As soon as this group left, people who wanted to eat liangpi (cold skin noodles) surged up behind them.
In no time, the stall was surrounded by people.
