Chapter 38 You're welcome

Upon seeing this, Liuli transformed into a woman with a flash of white light. She stood in front of Shichan, her long whip nimbly lashing out at Yu Ke's curved blade. With a twist of the whip, she wrapped the blade around, and with a forceful pull, she dragged the blade toward Ji Jue's giant axe.

Just as Yu Ke's scimitar was about to collide with the giant axe, he pulled it from the entanglement of Liuli's long whip and swiftly cleaved the three-foot-tall Vajra pestle in two. The Vajra pestle was formed from golden Buddhist light; after being cut in two, its golden light dimmed, and the two pieces coalesced into a chaotic mass of golden light that slunk towards Shi Chan, eventually forming a dim swastika symbol that returned to one of the beads on Shi Chan's prayer beads.

Shi Chan looked down and saw that the swastika symbol on the prayer beads was dim and almost invisible, and a look of heartache flashed across his eyes.

He formed hand seals and chanted Buddhist mantras. The remaining Buddhist treasures shone brightly with golden light, surrounding Ji Jue and Yu Ke. He skillfully dodged Yu Ke's curved sword and Ji Jue's giant axe, and seized the opportunity to attack the two.

The long whip in Liuli's hand was nimble, drawing out white whip shadows like serpents, which, with the help of many Buddhist treasures, coiled around Yu Ke and Ji Jue.

As they continued fighting, Liuli and Shichan's teamwork became increasingly seamless.

Li Molin's face was gloomy. A black light flashed in his hand, and a skull staff quietly appeared. At the top of the staff, where the eyes of the black skull were, two scarlet spots shone brightly, and two half-human-sized ghost faces appeared out of thin air. The ghost faces flashed and appeared, laughing strangely as they walked straight through the battlefield, their mouths wide open, and suddenly bit down on Shi Chan.

Li Molin suddenly made his move. From the moment the ghost face appeared until it got close to Shi Chan, it was only a short moment. Shi Chan didn't even have time to react. The ghost face was swift. In his haste, Shi Chan quickly took a step to the left, avoiding his neck, preparing to let the ghost face bite his right shoulder.

At that moment, a sharp whip lashed out, shattering the demonic face in front of Shi Chan into pieces.

However, Liuli acted hastily. At that moment, Yu Ke was entangled in a fight with her, but out of the corner of her eye, she saw the ghost face about to bite Shi Chan, so she instinctively turned around and lashed out with her whip. Her long whip turned towards Shi Chan, and Yu Ke's curved blade, having lost its opponent, slashed towards Liuli without any resistance. Caught off guard, Yu Ke's expression changed drastically. He hurriedly withdrew his curved blade, but the long shadow trailing from it still slashed at Liuli's shoulder. Fortunately, Yu Ke stopped in time, and the blade shadow only left a wound about two inches long and half an inch deep; otherwise, it might have severed Liuli's entire arm.

Li Molin's brow twitched, and he shouted angrily, "Liuli, you risked getting hurt to save him? Are you really stupid?!"

At that moment, Liuli was in pain, clutching the wound on her shoulder and gasping for breath. She frowned and said, "Ugh...it hurts so much..."

Yu Ke stopped, and Ji Jue also paused temporarily. Upon seeing that Liu Li was injured, Shi Chan disregarded the various Buddhist artifacts floating in the air and rushed towards Liu Li, anxiously asking, "Miss Liu Li, are you alright?"

Seeing that his face had changed color with anxiety, Liuli forced herself to comfort him despite the pain, saying, "It's alright, little monk, you don't need to worry about me."

Shi Chan bowed deeply, his face full of self-reproach, and said, "It is because of my lowly cultivation that I have caused you to be injured because of me. I am truly sorry."

The spirit fox's body has a strong healing ability, and the wound on Liuli's shoulder quickly stopped bleeding and stopped hurting. Liuli's tightly furrowed brows relaxed, she patted Shichan's shoulder, and smiled, "It's alright, your cultivation is low, I'll protect you!"

Shi Chan was taken aback, but a warm smile unconsciously appeared on his lips as he gently said, "Okay."

Suddenly, a burst of black light shone brightly in the alley, and a ghostly face, almost half a person's height, appeared out of thin air in front of Shi Chan, its mouth wide open, biting at Shi Chan's neck.

Startled, Shi Chan retreated repeatedly, but the ghostly face relentlessly pursued him. Beside him, Liu Li's face darkened, and she raised her long whip, lashing out with a fierce lash that shattered the ghostly face into dust, which dissipated like smoke as specks of black light.

"Liuli!" Li Molin's face turned cold as he roared, "If you make another move, don't blame me for being impolite!"

With a sharp crack, Liuli drew her whip and shouted angrily, "Fine, I won't be polite then! Who asked you to be polite!"

"Fine!" Li Molin was furious. With a wave of his hand, a black rope, made of some unknown material, appeared like a serpent. He chanted a short incantation, and the black rope appeared beside Liuli in a flash, binding her tightly before she could react.

The rope was entirely black and shone brightly. Liuli struggled instinctively, but she couldn't break free at all. Instead, the more she struggled, the tighter it bound her.

Liu Li was furious. She glared at Li Molin and shouted, "Li Molin, you bastard, let me go!"

Upon seeing this, Shi Chan hurriedly summoned back all the Buddhist artifacts and gathered them around Liuli to attack the ropes binding her, but the ropes remained completely still.

Li Molin smiled coldly and said, "Yu Ke, Ji Jue, now make your move and kill this monk!"

Yu Ke and Ji Jue raised their weapons and attacked Shi Chan from both sides.

However, Shi Chan completely ignored the attacks from the two, focusing only on untying the ropes binding Liuli.
